It's awhile away but a year from today we will be back at the beach club :goodvibes...we decided to stray from the beach club 2 weeks ago and stay at BLT turned out to be a huge mistake..never again...We went to the beach club a couple of times during our trip and wished we were staying there. :worship:

Unfortunately this has happened before. It usually means just a pool or a water view. Did you book a waterview room?

I did book waterview. The only reason I question it is that I looked at my reservation online a week ago and it said "Room Type: Water or Pool View" and yesterday it said "Room Type: Deluxe: Water or Pool View"

I will be perfectly happy with water or pool view (as it is what I booked), but it is the new addition of Deluxe that has me curious. Either way, I am going to WDW on Sunday and staying at the BC to take full advantage of F&W :thumbsup2

We've stayed in quite a few one BRs at BCV at this point. We've enjoyed them all for different reasons. I used to post that it didn't matter which floor you were on for Illuminations. In our past experience, we could see some but not all of the higher effects whether on the 2nd or 5th floor as long as we faced that part of the Epcot. Last week we had a great 1BR on the 2nd floor but could only see really small bits of Illuminations through the thick trees. Sort of like watching colored lightning in the distance. :rotfl: I'm sure some of the trees have grown since BCV opened 8 years ago but I think the biggest difference is that the trees are thicker. So to cut all through that, I would just request highest floor possible on Epcot side or view of Illuminations (knowing that it will not be a complete view). We absolutely loved the location of this room.

Have fun!:cool1:
Thanks, I will make sure to request a high floor. We are so excited!!!

From what I remember it just means deluxe resort - waterview room.

If it were a "deluxe room" it would say Deluxe CL room.

Have a wonderful stay.

Sean & Christine and Linda-

Enjoy yourselves!!! Wishing you great weather and FANTASTIC trips!

Look forward to hearing all about it!

Ditto! Hope all of you (and your families) have a great trip! My parents, aunt and uncle just returned from a long weekend at F&W. My mom (who travels quite a bit) said she's never eaten such great food for three days in a row. Hope you all love it!

After seeing your post I went back and looked at my Reservation . I am at the YC and mine just says water/ pool view - then it has noted guest requests main pool view with full balcony - not guaranteed.

I was happy to see that my request was noted and I hope that since mine doesn't say "Deluxe" that you will get some extra pixie dust! Be sure to let us all know if you are lucky enough to get some extra magic!!

I'm not saying it is or isn't a deluxe room, at this point there really isn't any way to know. General consensus has been it *could* be a Deluxe room or it *could* just be a water view. I'll find out on Sunday.

Thanks for checking! It is always nice to know that your requests have been noted. I'll check back and let you know on Sunday :)

We just left the BC this morning :sad1: But will be back next year :goodvibes

We had a great trip. We had a deluxe CL room, we had a 40% off pin and decided the splurge. Our final verdict was the space was wonderful, especially with 2 crazy boys, but the CL was not worth the money for us. It was handy and neat to experience. But my husband, the non stop grazer, even said not worth it. We are DVC and so looking forward to the BCV 1 bedroom for next time. We love SAB and were there daily the past 5 days. If the kids had had their wish I think they would have skipped the parks this trip. It was all about the pool for them.

Teena - nice to chat with you on Sunday! Will be seeing you next October :)

Good luck - hope you have a great time.

I wasn't trying to be a downer it's just that soooo many guests have reported that their reservation said deluxe when it just meant deluxe resort. When we booked the Deluxe Room at BC the confirmation always said deluxe CL room since it is a club level room.

DisneyMomx7 is correct ... however, that doesn't mean you can't get an upgrade once you get there ... you never know.

Final countdown to departure. Thanks for all the well wishes.

Teena- us greyhound folks will see you Sunday!

BCV23 - Welcome back!!!

Thanks, Robyn. I did see your question about our Polynesian stay. Our room was clean but we did have one issue which wasn't addressed by calling the "front desk." A "magickeeper" I saw in the hall took care of it for me. I wonder if communication is a problem there?

We leave for WDW tomorrow. We are doing a Poly/DCL/BC split. We check in at the BC on November 7 :banana::banana:.

MNSSHP & MVMCP here we come!!!!!!!

Have a great time. Sounds like a wonderful mix.:wizard:

Safe travels and have a blast!:cool1:

Just got back for my week long stay (conference). DW and I were able to go to Epcot for the afternoon a week ago (knew about the after 2pm tickets, but they had an after 4pm ticket - It's for conference attendees ONLY) so we spend the eve at Epcot.

Park was a bit crowded for a Thursday in mid October, with 45' wait at Soarin, but no more than 10' at the other rides.

Unfortunately didn't get to meet Teena, nor got any room upgrades, nor they met our request for a king size bed. CM at the front desk tried to get someone on the back for a good 20' trying to meet our request, but no luck. Didn't ask for an upgrade or anything but after 20' waiting there, I sure hoped I would get one. Never happened. Our room (3rd floor) had a full balcony, however it's view was that of the roof of what I think it's the office area (if you are looking at the front of the BC, it's the building to the right of it that's restricted to CMs). I wish they would do something with that rooftop other than gravel. Like put some decorations or something...

Never got to dine in the BC/YC. One night, I had a burger at the ESPN club, and was just overcooked and a bit dry. One night, however we dined at the italian place in the Swan, and food was delicious.

But was treated excellent by all the cast members. We both had a great time...

Unfortunately there are very very few king beds.

At least from January 1, 2011 and forward, you can avoid getting the roof views by booking a garden room ($10 more) rather than a standard view.

I am so excited to be going to BC in 43 days :cool1::goodvibes I have to stop myself from jumping up & down. Its going to be great, I read everything in this thread, thank you SO MUCH for all the info. Vacation is coming so fast :thumbsup2

WOW ... that list for December is huge. I'm so sorry I'm going to miss meeting two weeks of December guests!!! But at least I'll be on my own Disney December wonderful vacation on board the Disney Magic!!

Remember to put aside some time to search for the hidden mickeys on the chocolate and gingerbread carousel in the Beach Club lobby. Also, stop by the Marketplace and purchase some of our Chef's freshly made gingerbread. It is incredible. It's a different recipe from the Grand Floridian's. It's Chef Stefan's grandmother's recipe. Most years he sells gingerbread houses (cheaper than the Grand Floridian's and in his he includes his grandmother's recipe), gingerbread shingles and some other goodies. Last year he sold a gingerbread house kit. It had absolutely everything you needed in it to make a fantastic gingerbread house. He couldn't make up the kits fast enough ... they sold out constantly. I have no idea if he'll be making them again this year but if he does, you may want to watch for them and grab one!! We purchased one about 3 weeks before Christmas and kept everything wrapped up until the day before Christmas and made it then. It was fresh and we ended up eating lots of it a few days later ... so yummy!!!!!
