Hi lauren..it'd be cool if we had a med reunion on one of these cruises...hmmm!
Hey, Steph! That would definitely be wonderful!

Definitely needed to subscribe to this one! We were thinking of doing another Disney cruise summer 2010. We went on the Med Cruise with Disney summer 2007 (Hi, Patricia!) and it was AWESOME!! Can't wait to hear more info about the 2010 cruises!![]()
We live close to Florida, so we have never had to fly to the Disney Cruise. Obviously, this won't be the case for Med/Baltic cruises.
Is it generally better to purchase the cruise with or without airfare? I am wondering if we can get a better deal on airfare by booking it ourselves. And, if you book airfare with the cruise, do you get to select the flights or are they given to you?
Thanks!

You can pay $50/pp to pick your flights or fly on a different day. Otherwise - you get whatever the cruise line books. I would never fly to the port the same day the cruise departs, and that goes double for an overseas flight. Is it generally better to purchase the cruise with or without airfare? I second that. There were a couple of ladies on our Med trip who booked through Disney and missed the ship due to the times being too tight. Booking your own airfare is easy, and you can shop around for good rates. Guess I would rather be the one to pick my flights - don't like the idea of someone else making those decisions for me.

I believe the ship can be held for only so long. I don't know the exact time. I would also believe if you book through Disney, and the ship leaves without you, Disney will arrange/take care of your fare for you to get to the next port. Does anyone know that for sure?
Can't wait for the 7th and a confirmation that the Baltic Sea is in my DCL future!!!![]()
Even if DCL makes arrangements to get you to the first port - who wants to miss the boat?! Most flights to Europe are overnight, and if you cruise the day you arrive, you will be exhausted.

11 days!
11 days!
Hey, Jodie! Didn't see you on this thread...we've got tons of MedHeads here!Hey Lauren! How are you? How is your new job? I'm not sure if we'll be doing one of these or not. Right now I'm thinking that we won't since the transatlantics will occur while my kids are in school (which is what I really wanted to do). If we do one, it would be one of the June Baltics. Say hello to your parents and sisters.
Jodie
That would be neat for you guys to get to experience the member cruise a little closer to home! Good to see you too, Brenda!Think we will probably do a June cruise like the Med one and it would be great to meet some of the MedHeads again.
Think Disney should do DVC member cruise while they are here but make it a good long one not just a couple of days.
I totally agree with this. When we arrived in Barcelona last time, it was HARD to stay awake that whole day. Then, the next day I think we slept until 10 or 11, which is something we never do!! I am not looking forward to that overnight flight and time change again. We need two days to adjust to the time difference. The 1st day we are sleep-walking and the 2nd day we sleep late to make up the difference so we miss half a day.
4. your luggage may not make it, and you will have a chance to pick up a few essentials until your luggage catches up with you
