Also thinking of Missy today - sending you lots of healthy vibes for the best possible outcome!
...
I've missed the last few questions of the day I think, so I'll try to catch up but be brief.
Like many have mentioned, I too collect antenna toppers and change them with the seasons. I have the "Disney Family" sticker people on the back of my car as well (and my Mickey Moms Club magnet too!) My CD player is 4/6 Disney park CD's. Whenever I need a pick-me-up, I press play to hear "Your attention please, the Walt Disney Railroad is now approaching for a scenic trip aroooound the Magic Kingdom.....Boooooooooard!!" (at least I think that's it, I just typed that from memory so forgive any incorrect words!)
Of course living an hour away it's a lot easier to 'get my fix' by driving up to the Parks, however even when I'm not up in Orlando, living in Florida still makes me think of Disney almost daily.
If you walk outside in the early morning, there is a very distinctive "Florida smell". I'm not sure what it is...a combination of morning dew, the trees in blowing in the breeze...I've never figured it out. But that morning smell brings me way back to my family's visits in the 80's when we were staying at the Lake Buena Vista Vacation Club Villas. We'd be up SO early back then, taking our little golf cart to breakfast or leaving in time to open up the parks. It's a similar smell to the dinosaur section of Universe of Energy, which is why we always called it "Disney smell' if we ever smelled it somewhere outside of Disney. Of course we also have orange blossoms a couple of times a year and that reminds me of Horizons and Soarin'. I can't smell someone making smoked bbq without thinking of "Rome burning"!!
I can't wait in a long line without thinking "Oh, Disney would've handled this so much better!" Disney has spoiled me for all special events and hotels - I compare everything to how they do it, and everyone else falls short!
And of course I live Disney every day with ALL the memories I have in my mind and pictures of the many days we spent there. Writing my blog has helped me share some of those with others and always keeps Disney at the forefront of my mind. And when I'm not 'remembering' I'm planning our next visit to cultivate even more memories!
