**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Can you use the Disney Visa Rewards card to get/put $ on a F&W "wrist card" to use at the booths? :confused3

Quick question, will the beverage seminar and culinary seminar tix be on sale tomorrow as well? The Festival Guide is really lacking on presenter info this year. Thanks for any info!

Yes, you can use any form of payment typically accepted for purchase at WDW to purchase the F&W wrist gift card, including the Disney Rewards card.

We were told at the Sneak Preview Dinner that the culinary/beverage tickets will go on sale August 26. Just the when, not the where and how. :confused3

No, and please don't call the WDW dining line at 7 am just to try and book them - you'll probably be holding 45 minutes just to be told you can't book them. they will be available to book online as of August 26 according to info given out at the TIW event.

Also, you are not going to get any specific info out of a WDW dining line cast member. They won't know any more than we do now which chefs will be appearing at which demos. All they can do is check and see if the culinary demonstrations are on their computer for booking (which they probably won't be as there was separate booking for them)

Almost every year someone reports back that they got a phone agent who didn't even know there was such a thing as an Epcot Food & Wine Festival and had to be talked through booking the events by the guest.

Yes you can use the rewards, but 2 years running now we've had big problems with it. CM's processed it like they should but each time, the dollars were removed from the rewards card but not showing up on the wrist card. Last year we had to wait for a supervisor & we had to call Chase, put the supervisor on the phone with them, etc., etc. It took over an hour to get if fixed. The supervisor did tell us that they had been having problems with it, because the transaction codes look like a cash withdrawal and that's not allowed with the rewards card.

Maybe someone has used it without problems & they can chime in.

Obviously we can use CC tomorrow. Any idea if Disney Rewards or Disney Gift Cards can be used?

Thanks and Happy Dialing!

This is a signature dinner that is held in the VIP area of the (former) Wonders of Life Pavilion. Jens Dahlmann is the head chef for Epcot events; he is not associated with a particular WDW restaurant.

This event was held for the first time in 2009.

Okay, anyone attend? What type of food to expect? Is the setting nice or does it feel like you are in some big pavillion (like it does during the day)?

Also, can someone direct me to a review or provide opinions on the French Regional lunches or the food and wine pairings in either Italy or Morocco?

TIA

It is not in the pavilion itself, it is in a private room.

and...? Feel free to provide more detail on what the room is like, food served and so on.
If you scroll through this thread, you will find posts on just about any event that is taking place this year, plus links to reviews and comments from past patrons... including for the Wonders dinner. There's even a photo of the dining area. Just scroll back to find it. LOTS of good info in this thread already! "Read to succeed!"

It will be a multi-course fine dining meal paired with wine. Think Victoria and Albert's in terms of how things are served.

If you want to see a picture of the room, go back about 10 pages on this thread. ;)

Hey everyone, like many this is my first F&W. I tried to read through this thread the best I could before asking. Does EVERYTHING sell out right away? Not sure if I need to get up super early tomorrow to book the tequila tasting and taste, shake, indulge like the French. These are the only things we are wanting to book. Also do I just need to put a CC on file or will it be charged right away? TY!

These are small events with limited seating, so I'd sign up for them ASAP.

All events are paid in full at the time of booking and are not refundable.

Thanks for the fast response :thumbsup2 I should probably go to bed early tonight :rotfl:

You purchase the tickets when ordering... it is all charged right then. Also, tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. So, you should be sure of your travel dates and the people in your party before purchasing your tickets. Many events will sell out quickly, but some will have tickets even up until the day of the event. There were empty spots at many of the PFTS last year, but then other dates were completely sold out. I do know in years past, that events early in the festival (end of September and early to mid-October) were typically sold out and those later in the festival were more likely to have openings late in the booking process. HTH!

EDIT: Ah, someone else responded while I was typing! Sorry for the double response. =)

So, am I correct in assuming that the events can not be booked online this year like they could in the past? Can't find the option to book online anywhere. I need to check the passholder site to see if I can. That would have prevented long phone lines early in the AM especially for those of us in earlier time zones:(

Went home for lunch and suprise surprise my festival guide had arrived. I don't really hold it against TIW that I'm just getting it. They can't produce it until Disney gives them the info. I do think it is nicer than the ones I've received in the past in that it is pretty much what we'll get in Epcot and even includes the map with listings of what is at each booth. I don't know what it was like last year since I didn't have TIW at the time of mailing, but in other years IIRC it was just a tall and wide (like 11 x 14) handout that had information about the special events. So I think this is an improvement. Now if Disney could just improve the lead time.

Booking opens tomorrow and I STILL don't have my guide from TIW!
