**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Nooooooooooo! I knew it was too good to be true. :sad1: First, no decent cheese booth and now miniature champagne pours.... grumble... grumble... sigh... oh well. Looks like the hubby & I will have to pick up a few bottles of bubbly elsewhere to enjoy in the room. ;)

Totally agree. I loved the champagne flutes last year, micro mini pours just aren't the same, are they? Great tip--think we will also pick up some bubbly and enjoy to our hearts content. :goodvibes

That looks like the same cup my icewine from Canada came in last year...only it wasn't "full"

Yeah, ice wine is supposed to be a smaller pour since it's a dessert wine...so I can see why a sample of it would be in that glasss...but champagne! So sad.

Oh the first world problems we have

The two prices, I believe, reflect a discount for TiW and DVC members. Have fun!

Not technically.
For the food seminars, it appears the $13 is charged for "celebrity" chefs and some of the guest chefs (the seminars they anticipate will be more popular). $9 is charged for others. Prices on weekends may be the higher price.

The higher price for beverage seminars is for some of the spirits and higher-end wineries.

There is a discount for AP/TIW/DVC members of about $3 off those prices, but only if you buy in advance. No discounts at the door.

Even the cheese booth does not have a cheese plate. they are serving fondue.

And they won't ever serve champagne in glasses in the showcase - everything has to be plastic to walk around the park with. If they lowered the prices I wouldn't expect to see plastic flutes come back to the booth this year. I'm guessing the size change is a reaction to complaints that things were too expensive.

Hi everyone. I had e-mailed Marianne Hunnel yesterday in regard to all the concerns about the Champagne pours in little glasses with a few sips and not flutes. She responded to me by saying "We appreicate hearing feedback from our guests and we are working on a resolution to your concerns regarding the Champagne."

So, we shall see. I am not going until 10/15. If anyone sees changes, please let us know. Thanks

;)

They are using the plastic flutes in Festival Center but yet not at the Champagne Booth :confused3 Headed over there in a few The Prosecco pours in FS were pretty generous imho.

That's awesome that you e-mailed her. I will be in Epcot on Monday. Maybe Sunday but most likely I'll be steering clear due to the crowds.

While I'm no expert on fine dining or even proper serving etiquette, I do know that if you're going to serve champagne, it should be in the proper glass. I am more than willing to spend last years prices in order to get a decent amount of champagne served properly. I can't imagine that many people are going to stand in a line to buy overpriced champagne.

I glad I checked in here again before heading to F&W tomorrow. I will pass on my fav Moet & head to France instead. Very disappointed in Disney & Moet on this one.

Just wondering for the special events (not for the deminars), do you go directly to the venue to report for the event? IE: Is it necessary to pick up a special ticket at the Festival Center for these events? I am speaking of Regional French Lunch, Sweet Sundays, Dessert Buffet, etc. In the past, I have just gone directly to the venue.

(I do know the tickets for the deminars must be obtained from the Festival Center ticket booth.)

Yes, you go directly to the event. There are no tickets. They will check you off a list.

For those wanting a banner tote bag this year ... they have replenished the stock in the Festival Welcome Center. Obviously it was possible to make a lot more of this style of bag from last year's banners.

That is great news.... I arrive in 6 days and want a bag.... Hopefully they will still be around.

For those attending the Food and Wine Classic - I just received an e-mail along with a schedule of events/verification etc.

What wine is being served in Festival Center this year? Thanks...

We leave tomorrow:cool1: We are TIW members (as well as DVC and APers) and I haven't seen anything yet.

Anything major in the email?

It was not from Disney but from swandolphin.com

A thank you for registering e-mail which I am taking with me due to the discussion about reservations when this event opened.

It provided the rooms for the seminars as well as the hospitality desk.

I didn't receive anything. I wonder if I should call again to be sure. We leave tomorrow.

Update: So annoyed with S & D! I called & they did not have me down for the Modern Mixology Class, even though I received a letter of confirmation from K Sweeney the day after I booked it! (His letter states that I booked the Mixology Seminar!)
I am now waiting for a phone call, they needed "Head" of dining to look at my emails to see if anything can be done. GRRRR!

May I have that email address please. I would like to send an email as well.

Does anyone know how Champagne is being served in the festival center? We often like to enjoy a glass between seminars and will not do so if it is the sample pours in the wrong type of glass!
