**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

It has been reported by friends (not here on Dis) that the Champagne Booth is no longer serving champagne pours in the flutes. Maybe they ran out of flutes? No, not this early. Anyway it appears they have reduced the amount of pours as reflected in the reduced cost. :confused3

This is crazy. I will pay the for a glass of champagne but I want it in the correct glass! I would rather they put the prices back than serve this in the wrong type of glass. I enjoy my fine wine but I want it served to me correctly. I am so disapointed. One of my favoriate things to do at this event is to relax with a glass or four of champagne.

All the more it looks like this will be our last festival. I am stunned that at a food and wine festival, Disney would serve Champagne NOT in a Champagne Flute. This just has to be a temporary blip. Charge me the $$$$ I am OK with that - I want my drink served in the right size Champagne glass - I do not want a sample in a plastic cup. I will buy a bottle from the supermark and enjoy on my balcony. YIKES. This is just so silly. Come on Disney - get this right.

I am pretty angry about the Champagne Booth no longer serving champagne pours in the flutes. Can someone recommend where I can send a letter. This needs to be changed.

Remember there is still champagne served in the proper size and type outside at France and inside the Vins de France shop. Inside, sparkling rose' cremant is $7, Pommery $10 and Moet $11. :thumbsup2

Oh...OK...I did forget about that. Thanks...my morning did just get a bit better! I can just skip the walk over to and hang in France.

Just wondering if anybody attended the Sweet Sundays event on 10/3? If so, any opinions/input/reviews would be greatly appreciated. Going on 10/24.
Thanks!!

it really is insane to think that people who enjoy champagne would want it served to them any other way but in a flute-do people enjoys martinis not
served in the correct glass. I don't!!!!! And would gladly pay the money for it.
Well I guess I will just drink in France

In the first couple of days, the frozen cherry colada machine in Puerto Rico has been NOT working more than it's been working. Here's hoping they get it fixed cuz they're good. Italian fruit smoothie-yum! Ireland casserole and chocolate cake, dessert trio at dessert place, belgian waffle, german spaetzle-all yum. Brazil port skewer-not so great. Bison Chilli-I thought was too hot, but DH liked.

Hope they have it up and running soon!! Their Frozen Dragonberry Colada was my favorite last year...I could have sucked those down all day!! (But limited myself to two!)

Puutttt!!! I have some plastic flutes, maybe I could take them with me:rotfl2:

Oh well, more time to enjoy the other wines.....and give France and Italy my business. Italy serves (or served the last time I was there) both a brutt Prosecco and a sweet sparkling wine. In flutes - And France has two champagne booths, one inside you have discussed and one outside - but the outside one only takes cash. Not sure what the offerings are on the outside booth.

Champagne was in a laughably small glass. It was like a shot. I think my Mom had about 3 swallows.

As an aside: we also had a small pour of Merlot (or some red wine) at the Cheese booth, after that we started checking out the size of the pours first. Italy & South Africa booth had good pours. And Italy as a whole was an excellent booth.

Here's the shot of the champagne: http://twitpic.com/2ur4kb This was after she had 2 sips. It was "full" when she got it.

That looks like the same cup my icewine from Canada came in last year...only it wasn't "full"

Isn't the Champagne booth sponsored by Moet & Chandon? If that's the case, I would think the company would object to their lovely champagnes being served in the wrong glass!

Disney also needs to change the picture on its website for the F&W Festival. It shows a couple having dessert with two champagnes in nice flutes!

In any event, we'll purchase ours in the France shop or at the non-Festival stand.

Does anyone know if the Festival Center has the cheese plate they had last year? I think I am going to miss the Mousecatch booth.

I also wanted to add my two cents about the banner bags...I think the banners they had to work with were much better last year. The colors were deeper...also I like last years style better and I believe the price was $29.95 vs $39.95 this year. I would still like one, I wonder if they are selling as well as last year.

Does anyone have any detailed reviews of the food booths? I am not going until Nov 1. Thanks

Can anyone give me some information about the beer flight at the brewpub at Boardwalk?

And does anyone know about a tequila flight at La Cava in Mexico?

Any help is greatly appreciated....

Thanks,

I liked the banner style better last year as well. It was very clever.

This is the beer flight from Big River. My boyfriend has gotten it on our last 3 trips and likes it.

There is no cheese plate at the the Festival Center this year. I think, the only cheese plate available is at the Ireland booth. Spain has a ham, cheese and olive plate available also.

Thanks,

They have set Tequila Flights on the menu but you can design your own flights with any 3 tequilas or 2. You get tequila in shot glasses with a shot glass of sangrita and a lime wedge. The cost will be dependent on the type of tequila you order. 3 Blanco shots is $18 I think and it is higher for reposado and anejo.

Nope. No cheese plate in the Festival Center. However there is a good cheese plate in Ireland
