2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

Ok I'm joining in on this thread! We are going sometime in 2009. I have just begun thinking about it.
I totally understand what you guys were saying about family/friends/co-workers say "Disney again??" We took our major vacation this year on a cruise instead of going to Disney. Although it was a great experience, it just isn't the same magic. Disney trips have always been magical family times.
So....we are going back! in 2009
Now, we just have to decide when.
Do we go in mid June when we have gone in the past or....
do we go from the weekend before thanksgiving throught the weekend after.

What do you guys think? Thanks:)

I vote for Thanksgiving time. I went the week after Thanksgiving once and it's beautiful. You will enjoy seeing the resorts/parks in a different theme than what you are used to.

Unfortunately, that means waiting an additional 5 months to go.

If I call today will Disney give me May 2009 package prices?

THANKS!

You can try and see but from what I am reading I don't think they will be announced until tomorrow and we don't even know that for sure. I am really hoping that they will be anyway!

OMG, so am I!!!!
It's been 20 years since I've been, and it will be my kid's first trip to disney, and our first family vacation!!!

Oh, that will be so much fun for you. It will be 3 years between trips when we go back and that wait has just about killed me.

OMG I don't think I will be able to sleep, as soon as I have booked my pkg the "real" planning will take place. Just can't believe they have changed the ADR dates, now I am really not sure when I can book those (I think in Oct)

I booked our trip this morning!!!! :cool1: We decided to go with room only and use DDE for our meals (just comes out a better deal for us).

We also officially moved our trip to June instead of July!!!!!!

Just booked our trip with Disney with Dining and all. It looks like the DDP is $40/pp each day. I think that is what we paid in 2006 so it looks like it didn't go up but in 2006 tips were included.

It looks like the price of my tickets for a straight 8 day ticket went up about $25. But I needed to wait if I wanted to do the DDP. Oh well but I am so excited. It is official.

My only other question, the CM, who was excellant and sweet, said I could only get the AAA discount on a room only, not the package. Has anyone received the AAA with the package without going to a TA at AAA?

I think that is correct. You have to go through AAA to get the discount on a package.

I believe the only way to get a package with the AAA discount (which is still just discount on the room portion only) is to book directly through AAA. That's how we do it. I think you can only do AAA room-only through Disney.

I'm so excited all the info is out!!! Kids and I are headed to AAA tomorrow immediately after I finish working at 3 PM!

When I do our planning (since I start early like most of us) - I plan based on the prior year (in this case 2008) package price withOUT the AAA room discount factored in. Then I hope that any price increases are equal to or less than the room discount, so I know basically how much it will cost. This year it works out to $73 less than I was planning so that's good!!

Still disappointed tips aren't included on the DDP, though, I would've paid more for that, for the convenience!! Guess I'll be getting a Disney gift card or something to pay them with, so it's still handled in advance.

I just filled our the quote form on Dreams Unlimited site. This is the first time I will be using them. It is really starting to feel real now.

I just have one thing to say:

I am going to Walt Disney World!!!!

Look at this DUCKIE jumping and dancing for joy! I have been waiting for what seems like forever (ok so it has been TEN LONG YEARS) to book this holiday and now I can. Just priced it out online and got this quote:
14 days
POR King bed
park hopping
Dining Plan

for a total of $4473.98

Wow!! I sure wish we could stay 14 days - I'd be at a moderate or value in a SECOND! Because that's about almost the EXACT same price as 6 nights/7 days at the Poly with park hopper, water park and more and dining plan!!! But, 7 days is our max, so we'll stick with the Poly. Maybe some day....
