2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

I need your support 2009 people! I just joined the smart for life diet and will be starting it in couple of weeks once I get my tests ran and see the doctor. I want to lose 70 pounds before we go to WDW. That will another countdown for me. It is going to be a hard battle though.

You can do it!! I need to lose some as well. What is the smart for life diet?

Best of luck to all trying to lose some weight!! And congrats to all those who have already done so!! I need to lose about 20 lbs, though I'd be happy with 10-15. I really need to get the food under control. I've been working out 3-4 days/wk since New Year's. So, that's a month now and it's becoming part of the routine again, but I'm still eating too much and the scale isn't budging! It's hard when you work at home!

I'm in! I need to lose 10-15 lbs. It will be great to have support from each other here! Maybe we can get an e-mail thing going where we "weigh in" once a week to each other. If I'm not held accountable, I'll cheat  ! If anyone wants to do that, PM me, and I'll get it rolling. I REALLY want to wear a 'normal' t-shirt to WDW next year, not one where I have to hide my waist ;) !!!!!!!!

Count me in! I totally understand the t-shirt thing!

Yes! DS and I usually go as soon as school's out and stay through the first week of June. Yes, it gets hot-ish. But not any hotter (or humid) than here. And certainly not as hot as July and August! As a matter of fact, last year there were several days when I refused to swim cause it was too flippin' cold! And, And, And, get this...one night while we were strolling around Downtown Disney, I had to duck in to World O' Diz and drop $70 on a jacket--I was freezing--in June!!!
The crowds start to thicken toward the end of May. But they're perfectly manageable. Especially when you're smarter than the teeming masses. :crowded: Which is where TGM comes in handy. And park hoppers!
Wow, a jacket in June!
We normally go to Disney during the value seasons but after last January it seems like everyone goes during the value season. I have used TGM before and I plan on using him again...and of, course, parkhoppers!:thumbsup2 Thanks for the info!

I have the non-Disneyfied ones in brown and pink and LOVE them! Last trip I took those and my mega-dollar Privo's and only wore the Privo's once. I was hooked on those dang Crocs!

I love Crocs, too! I can only wear the flip-flop ones or the clog-style ones. I tried the ones that look like the Disney ones....and I got loads of blisters. They sure are cute, if they come in kids sizes by the time we leave, I will get DD a pair.

You can do it!!:cheer2: I need to lose some weight myself....still riding the WW train. I have tried for awhile to get rid of this baby weight from 04 but it is sooo stubborn, especially when I am not sticking to my daily points.:rolleyes1

YOU CAN DO IT!! I am also in the SLOWW process of losing weight, but it is to help DH and I as we are TTC our first little one. Good luck!!

Good luck to you and I am sending over some baby pixie dust!:wizard:

You can do it! I'm in the process as well--see my ticker! I am now 47 pounds lighter than I was at this time 2 years ago! I'm doing Weight Watchers online--started Jan. 5. I want to lose about 75 more pounds from where I am now, so I'm right there with you! (First goal--35 pounds by this June).

Congrats on losing 47 pounds! That is GREAT!:cheer2:

It is hard when you are at home with the fridge so accessible. I am home a lot and I always catch myself looking in the fridge when I am not even hungry.:headache:

My e-mail is skotsaftis@sbcglobal.net . If you would like to team up, let me know, and I'll add you to the list. Send me your goal (how many you'd like to lose), and we can start as early as next Monday. I can send out an e-mail with all our goals, and the support can begin! The only thing I wanted to make sure of: our e-mail addresses would be shared amongst us, and I want to make sure you're alright with that.

My goodness, what have I gotten myself into??? Now I'm going to be held accountable :scared1: !!!!!!!!!!!!

OK. I'm in. Put me down for 30.
Actually, is that over-shooting? DH and I decided over the weekend that we want to take a cruise the first week in June (:cool1: ), and I'd really like to lose some fluff by then. I need to lose way more than 30 pounds, but I'm thinking maybe that's a realistic goal by June? Anyone know? I've never gotten past 15 before! Then I go right back to where I was. But maybe with the '09ers I can actually have some support and accountability.
I started unofficially about 2 weeks ago and think I've managed to lose a couple of pounds. But if we're gonna do this, I'll start an official journal and all that good stuff.

So did I! I think she's gonna be flooded with PMs tonight! :surfweb:

Good morning, everyone!

I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday morning....one day closer to our trips!:cool1:

I need to do the weigh-in thingy. My WW meetings are on Saturday mornings, so I will email that weigh-in. :)

I just sent an email too. Micka Mouse, I forgot to tell you my goal is 20 lbs. I need to run out and buy a scale. I've never owned one - I know, it's weird - but I've always judged my weight by the way my clothes fit. Now that I'm *older* I think my methods need to change!

Hi all - haven't posted for a while. Thanks arkansasmom for the list. We're still hopeful for May 09.

The W.I.S.H. forum also has an exercise challenge each month if anyone is interested. I joined last year and then again this year. All you do is set a exercise goal for the month and post your totals through out the month. Its lots of fun - I lost 9.5 lbs last month which I wasn't planning on but I'll take it. My goal for 2009 is to keep up an exercise program last year I lost 45 lbs and this year so far 9.5 lbs so its been very helpful. Don't want to lose any more weight just want to firm it up.

Have a good day all.
Joanne

I wish I didn't know how much I weigh.:rotfl:

Daisy 77, you changed your photos--they're precious!!!!!!!!!!!

Dang. I hate being at the top of a new page. I feel so pretentious. I know. I'm weird.

I'll join the weight loss too. You can put me down for 20lbs. Luckily lent starts tomorrow for me and I have decided to give up snacks. Hopefully that will get me motivated, once I'm over the hump of wanting the snacks, I'm fine.

Looks like I'm jumping on the bandwagon a bit late. lol Our plans aren't definite though. One of the hazards of being a single mom with a teenager that turns 18 late this year. lol

We go to Disneyland pretty much every year. We are all set to go again in just over a month. I'm sooo excited! She's never been to WDW though and I've only been once, in 1984. I'd love to take her just after graduation (5/09). Her dad and step mom were supposed to go but they are expecting a baby in May so he'll only be about a year old by the time we go.

Still have no idea how long we'd go for, but I think we'd stay at a value resort. I was kind of waiting to see what deals they offer for our time frame before I got really busy planning. lol I've had enough planning to do with our upcoming DLR trip. lol

Hi all! I have lots of e-mails and PM's to go through tonight. Mrs. Grumpy has put a yahoo page together for us. I will e-mail you all of the info tonight, along with the link to yahoo.

This is a great thing we're doing!!!!!!!! Shannon

Gotcha on the list! :thumbsup2 That means you officially have to go. No changing plans, no backing out, no going to Universal Studios. :wizard:
