2009 DDP, DxDP and QS plans - Everything you always wanted to know

You can upgrade the free regular dining plan to the deluxe for an extra cost of $32 per adult per night and $10 per child per night.

You have 3 TS credits a day on the deluxe plan. Going to a signature restaurant will cost you 2 of those. So you still have one left to use for the day, plus the snack credits. By being on the deluxe plan it doesn't give you signature dining for one of the TS credits you get a day, sorry. That would be great tho! You do get an appetizer, entree and dessert on the deluxe plan, which is also great.

That's what I had heard. I couldn't possibly use 3 TS credits unless I used two for dinner! I just can't seem to find that written out under deluxe plan. it sounded much like the regular plus appetizer. I'll look again.

The previous poster is correct - 2 TS restaurants (signature) also cost 2 credits on the deluxe dining plan. On the premium or platinum package plans, each meal costs one meal credit, regardless of the restaurant, but those are not just dining plans.

Deluxe DDP credits are not TS credits. They are meal credits, and can be used for either TS or CS. But if you use them for a signature restaurant, it will cost two of them per person.

I know the gratuities are not included but I thought they were last year at the CP. Or am I confused and they just tacked it on? Only because I thought it was in 2007 (?) our server was kind of creepy (just not magical at all) and I am sure the tip was included . I thought it was sufficient but my overtipping DH and DM left him more money....

For some reason I thought it was included for buffets.

I checked the FAQ's but didn't see it.

Thank you very much,
Margaret

Tips are included in the DDP for CRT, the dinner shows, pizza delivery and in-room dining. They are not included anywhere else. Tips are not included in the dining plan for buffets, and they are expected.

For more tipping discussion, see the Tipping Info Thread at

All tipping discussion should take place on that thread.

You pay for the dining plan just like everyone else when using DVC, the points are only used to secure your room. :)

Oof! I can't believe I made it through all of this thread. :faint: Seriously, though, this is fantastically helpful - thank you so much! After doing a cost breakdown, I've been considering adding the DxDP to our reservation, and the info I have learned here has really helped with that decision.

I do have one question - I think that I already know the answer to this, but I want to make sure. My mother is staying with me, DD, and DS for part of our trip. We're all arriving the same day, but she is leaving 1 day early. Although she will be taking the ME back to the airport, her credits (for snacks, etc.) still remain active until 12 midnight on our last day, correct?

Thanks!

We are using the Dining Plan for the first time this October, and I have a couple of questions. First, is it possible to share an entree with another person on the dining plan? We have a dinner ADR at Tutto Italia, but I know we will be snacking at the food booths as we walk around Epcot. I don't think either me or my sister will want a full entree to ourselves. Can we share?

Second, I have an AP. I had to get a 1 day pass in order to get the Free Dining. Will the dining credits be on the same ticket as the 1 day pass? If so, should I seperate the two? :confused3

As long as you're sharing with another member of your party on the plan, there shouldn't be a problem. The "no sharing" rule is to prevent you from using plan entitlements for people not on your plan.

By default, everything will run through your KTTW card. You can have the ticket "separated" from the KTTW card for later use, or you can just leave it on the KTTW card. It will still be valid for use or upgrade even after your trip.

Her credits will be for the entire stay, even if she leaves early. Really, it's just a lump sum of credits for the room, so you'd have to track "her" credits vs. "your" credits manually, if you were so inclined anyway.

I notice that a few (very few) CS restaurants don't have kids meals. I am wondering if we could burn through our kids CS credits there and then have use the adult CS credits at other venues where the kids menu is limited?

Casey's Corner at MK use 4 kids CS credits to feed the entire family then at Columbia Harbor House she could order off of the adult menu using on of the adult CS credits.

Thanks, Dave

Would like to know if anyone has done this? Sounds like a great idea and this is my first time with disney dining. Looking for all the advise we can get.

You would not be able to do that unless you actually have 4 kids listed on your plan. You will be limited to ordering not more than the number on your card. :)

The previous poster is correct - If there's no children's menu, you are only spending 4 CS credits. If there is a children's menu, you will be able to order a maximum of 2 adult meals and 2 child meals if you have 2 adults and 2 children on your reservation. The number of persons and their adult or child designation is listed on your key card.

Per the policies of the DIS boards, any reference to attempting to use credits for which a child's price was paid to order meals from the regular menu (in restaurants where there is a separate children's menu) will be deleted when they occur. It is the stated policy of WDW regarding the dining plan that children must order from the child's menu.

An adult may always purchase a regular CS meal using credits for which an adult price was paid, and then share that meal or give it to their child.

Hi All, I went thru many pages including page 16 and even checked out the link but I am still wondering, when you are on the regular DDP and are ordering from the Picnic in the Park at AK, what is available to order tier 1 or tier 2? Regular DDP is tier 1 and deluxe would be tier 2? We have 2 adults and 1 child (DD3) on the DDP, DD2 will munch on whatever we order. So if we ordered the tier 1, sandwiches, do we just go down to whatever the 3 person option is? (I forgot what is listed) Will we have 3 adult counter services deducted? Usually our hotel conceirge is good about adjusting our dining credits once we show receipts.
Thanks for the info!!

The post you quoted was talking about using child credits to essentially pay for adult meals. As noted, they will only let you use as many child credits as you have numbers listed.
