2009 DDP, DxDP and QS plans - Everything you always wanted to know

Upgrading free regular dining to deluxe costs an extra $32 per night per adult and $10 per night per child.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this question.

But does anyone know if POP considers their ice cream sundae to be a dessert with a meal? Or is it just a snack option?

Thanks in advance.

We have been able to get it as a dessert. Tell the cashier that you want to pay for a sundae for dessert, and they will mark your ticket as paid and you have something like 90 minutes to go back and get it. Then the ice cream attendant does something to your receipt to indicate you have gotten it.

We got several this way. Yum!

That's fantastic!

Im sure this has been asked a bizillion times, but my kids are running around and I dont have the time to search. Turkey legs...snack credit or CS credit? Also, I noticed at the Fish and Chips shop at the UK pavillion in Epcot there are no kids meals. Do they just get the 2 piece fish and chips(since thats basically all that is offered?)

Thanks a bunch!

Turkey legs are not available as snacks. Toluca Turkey Legs at HS and Launching Pad at MK have them for counter service credits.

Because there is no children's menu at the Yorkshire Fish Shop, everyone can order from the regular menu.

Hi. I will be in Disney in September. We have 4 adults and 4 children (10, 10, 6, 4) all on free DDP. Some adults will not be using all of their TS credits b/c will not be in parks on all days and don't want to get up early for character breakfasts. On last day, we may have some adult TS credits left but no child TS credits left.

If I go to a TS restaurant, would I be able to use adult TS credits for my 6 and 4 yo?

If the other adults are on your reservation and listed on your key card, according to Disney policy you should be able to order up to 4 adult meals in one transaction.

In regard to on line reservation for DDP, are all restaurants listed under on line reservation part of DDP? The WDW web site DDP restaurants info is not updated, and the on line reservation does not specify if a particular restaurant were part of DDP. Example, T-rex cafe in downtown disney.
Where could I find an updated list of DDP eateries for December 2009?
Thanks.

There are no changes at this point for 2009. There is a sticky at the top of the board 2009 DDP - everything you want to know :) there are linmks in their to disney brochures listing all the places

Trex does not participate in the DDP

I am new to the DDP. I am hoping that the DIS can help me out. I have read through most of this thread. I compared the pdf brochure and the DIS main pages for TS restaurants. They are not the same. :confused3

Is Crystal Palace on the DDP? And what about the Horseshoe Inn? Since it is seasonal I can't find it on either. My best guess is that the Horseshoe Inn is a no. But I have run across so many people booking the Crystal Palace I thought it would be. It is on the DIS pages but not the brochure.

Thanks for all your help!

Crystal Palace is listed in the brochure. I admit that at first glance I didn't see it either, but it's listed near the bottom of the list of MK restaurants as "A Buffet with Character at The Crystal Palace."

Thanks so much! I didn't see that. I looked at it alphabetically. BTW we live about 45min from each other!

Yeah, that's why I missed it at first, although if you notice, the CS places are listed first, but I sure can't figure out the logic in how the TS places are listed for MK. Do you mind if I ask where you live?

I live in a very small rural town you probably wouldn't know the name of. Basically I live alittle west of Dekalb.

I'll start by saying that my extended family, party of 8 in all, used the DDP on our Dec '08 trip and really enjoyed it. We also thought it offered a solid value as many of the TS restaurants we ate dinner at would have resulted in that one meal costing the same as or more than the price of an adult meal.

We now know that the dining plan prices are going up to $41.99/day for adults and $11.99/day for children in 2010. That's roughly a 5% increase. What's a little more disturbing are the seasonal increases that will now be imposed, about $48/day for adults (not sure for kids) between Dec 17, 2010 and Jan 1, 2011. We just so happen to be visiting WDW from Dec 16 thru 21, 2010, so that's a substantial difference even from the new, higher plan pricing. An increase like that makes me start to question whether it's still a good value. Any opinions on that?

My wife and I are doing a "kidless" trip in Oct to F&W :banana:and will be using the TIW card for the first time, so that'll give us another reference point other than the DDP.

And one question on an entirely different topic...

Anyone know why a refillable resort mug is included with the QS and Dlx plans and not the standard DDP? :confused3 Seems odd to me that it's included for the two extremes but not the typical plan (other than that's the plan most people get and therefore it saves Disney the most money by not offering it!).

I had the same question about the resort mug and Quick Service plan, especially if you can't convert the TS to CS when you don't want to waste valuable sightseeing time sitting down at a table for a long time, etc. Does anyone know the cost of any Buffet, because the Quick Service offers 1 more snack and the mug. We're only 3 people. The difference each day between the plans would be $21 less with a mug and extra snack. The buffet or character dining seems to be the incentive in the higher priced plan. We don't mind paying $63 extra for 3 days, but we lose out on the extra snack and mug. Any thoughts either way? Can we pay extra one day and get the buffet added on, saving a counter service for the last day when we check out? :confused3

My husband and I are going to WDW Dec 6th - Dec 11th. We are not taking the boys, they are staying with grandparents. We are going for my birthday and late 10 year anniversary. My husband has NEVER been to WDW and we decidede to go without the kids so he can have the full experience before we take the boys. How can I plan our trip to make it special for my husband....he has been such a anti WDW and this is a big step for him...(I think he is also getting a little excited about the upcomming trip) What are the best places to eat, what are the MUST see and do while we are at WDW. We are also staying on the property at the CSR. All help and suggestions are VERY much appreciated!!!
Thanks-a-million!!!
