2009 DDP, DxDP and QS plans - Everything you always wanted to know

Dumb question, probably, but is the type of dining plan available restricted by the category of resort you stay at?

For example, if I wanted to splurge on Premium plan, could I still do that while staying at a value resort?

No, it's not. Yes, you can. :thumbsup2

On DxDP, you get three meal credits per night. It does not distinguish TS vs. CS -- you may use a meal credit for either.

Do you know if the DxDP distinguishes between adult and child TS credits? Or are they all pooled, the way CS credits are in other dining plans?

I have booked to go during free dining with my three adult sons. We'll be there for five nights, but one of my sons will be away for two of the days. Can my other son and I use some or all of his credits? For example, could we take two of his TS credits, combine them with one each of ours, and eat at a signature restaurant?

Adult and children TS are seperated & it will state on your KTTW card how many adults and how many children are in your party.

yes you could do this.

Thanks :) I also enjoy your snack credit thread!

Do the credits carry over if we cannot use 18 on day one.. or is it per day? Let's say on day 1 we can only use 9 credits do the rollover to the next day. Do we have the 126 credits to use in any order and at anytime we wish? As long as the total does not exceed the number on the KTTK card?

Thnaks again. :)

Yes. They are all available for your entire trip. So you could use some upon check in, and some the day you check out, and the rest in any combo the rest of the time. You could do a 2 TS breakfast at the castle and a Signature dinner, all in one day.

Lot of food! Enjoy!

Did I see someplace Cirque de Soleil was included in one of the plans? I can't find it but maybe because I didn't see it LOL:confused3

In the fist post there is a link to the premium plan and platinum plans ~ I am not sure if either of these plans include the Cirque de Soleil.

Other Information

If you want an all-inclusive package that includes more than just dining, Disney also offers the Premium and Platinum package plans.

Both the Premium and Platinum plans provide one admission per person to Cirque de Soleil.

It is a lot more expensive ($88/$138 more than DxDP per person, per night), but it includes a lot of benefits. You still get the three meals plus 2 snacks per night and the resort mug. But there's no such thing as a "2 credit" meal, that is, signature restaurants and dinner shows only cost a single credit. Additional restaurants are included on these plans that are not included in basic or deluxe (e.g., Fultons, Portobello, Rainforest Cafe).

More than that, though, are the "all-inclusive resort" perks. Unlimited free golf, including greens fees, lessons, cart, equipment rental, and transportation to the course. Unlimited free tennis, including lessons and equipment rental. Unlimited free fishing and boating. Unlimited free horseback, carriage, and wagon rides. Unlimited archery. Unlimited mini-golf. Unlimited parasailing, waterskiing, and wakeboarding.

Also, unlimited free access to a wide array of park tours (park admission required).

Plus, the Cirque de Soliel tickets. And unlimited free use of the "kid's clubs".

Platinum adds to the above:

* Victoria & Albert's as a dining option (not the chef's table, though)
* One (over the course of the trip) fireworks cruise at MK or Epcot per person
* One (over the course of the trip) Fantasmic reserved seating per person
* One (over the course of the trip) spa treatment per person
* One free Photopass CD (with copyright release) per party
* Unlimited free usage of in-room babysitting (gratuity not included)

Yes, they're expensive. But they also include much, much more than just dining. It's an option to consider for just one or two nights of a "split stay", or for longer periods if you're going more for a resort trip than a park trip.

I have 2 rooms at Pop in June, my mom on 1 and me & kids on the other. Can I purchase 2 separate dining plans? If I do my mom on the 1CS/1TS/1 snack and we are there for 10 nights, can I do 5 TS and use all her credits for meals for her & me?

That won't work because she won't be able to purchase more meals than her card indicates.

Let's say that it's you and two kids in your room and your mom in her room and you have separate reservation numbers (so you can purchase two different plans).

Your room key will say 1A/2CH and her room key will say 1A. She will be able to purchase 1 Adult meal at each TS she uses the DDP, and you will be able to purchase 1 Adult and 1 Kids meals at each TS that you use the DDP. She could not use 1 Adult TS entitlements to purchase a meal for you and a meal for her.

Can someone please explain the credits or entitlements on the Prem. & Plat. packages? Is it true you don't get a # of credits, but rather breakfast, lunch and dinner each day, and that you can eat anywhere, regardless of how many credits it normally takes? IOW, there is no such thing as a 2-credit TS signature restaurant? That you could eat at all signatures without concerning yourself with the # of credits? Am I understanding that correctly? :confused3

Every meal counts as one meal credit, even the signatures.

Victoria & Alberts is available only on the platinum package. And it, too, is one credit.
