2009 DDP, DxDP and QS plans - Everything you always wanted to know

We will be on the regular dining plan this summer. If we have a guest join us one night for a meal can we use our unused TS credits for the guest or is that not allowed since he is not on the reservation?

Thanks!

I think this will not work at the same table? You can only use the number on the card! It will state how many adults and children on your account and you can not go over this amount at any sitting.

But the question ~ Is would it work if you sat at different tables and gave him your card.. or could he dine at the same time but a different dining location?.. does anyone know if either of these options would work?

Just curious and would like to know.

:)

No, you can't. You cannot use meal credits to pay for meals for persons who are not on your reservation.
If he's at a different table or a different restaurant entirely...how is he going to get a key card? Passing one around would be suspicious. And if the guest is seated at a different table or a different restaurant altogether, he won't be joining them for dinner after all.

I noticed that the QSDP counter service listing does not have as many restaurants in Epcot as the DDP for counter service.

For example: Lotus Blossom is listed in the DDP but not on the QSDP menu listing.

Does this mean I can't get a quick service meal at Lotus Blossom or Disney won't be able to distinguish what plan I am using?

Thanks.

I just thought it was odd that both brochures had different listings. :confused3

If they take the dining plan then they take the quick service dining... as long as it is not a sit down table service. :) I hope this helps at all. Where are you looking that you see it different? :)

I see what you are saying. I would say from our experiences than the 1st. link is more accurate.

:)

Okay, I have read this entire thread and have a question.
I am considering a grand gathering breakfast at Tony's. We are all going to be on DDP. Does Tony's accept DDP for the grand gathering breakfast?
Thanks!

The grand gathering "Good Morning Character Breakfast" is a 1 TS meal on the dining plans. (See the box at the top of page 4 in either the regular or deluxe dining plan brochure.)

New offering "Picnic in the Park" at Animal Kingdom We would really like to do this but it says adult credits and we still have 3 kiddos 9 and under. I wonder if this will be one of those counter services that when a child option is not available they can order the adult option?

As of April 7, 2009, Disney's Animal Kingdom will be offering a new meal program called Picnic in the Park. As part of this program, you will be able to purchase a meal for the family packaged in an "Every Tree Has Character" reusable bag, which can then be taken to one of a number of picnic spots throughout the park. Place your order at the Picnic in the Park podium located in front of Guest Relations at Animal Kingdom, between 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. daily. After that time, or if you decide to get a picnic pack after you're in the park, go directly to the podium at Tusker House Restaurant to place the order.

Pick-up time needs to be at least two hours from the time the order is placed, and you'll need to bring the copy of the order form as confirmation. The pick-up location is at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery.

You may want to check out this thread. It seems to be becoming the restaurant boards 'official' thread on the new picnic option. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2143049

There isn't an answer to your question yet, but when somebody has an experience it'll be put there (either posted or moved there by moderators) so that everyone who has subscribed to that thread knows the answer. (This has been asked several times already in that thread)

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Can you tell me if you book a disney resort thru travelocity can you still get the dining plan? Another question or maybe it's a comment. I saw on the Disney UK site (I am in the US, just somehow got on that site) that they are offering free dining all year. But that isn't offered to those of us in the US, right? Thanks for your help.

Thanks.

I just thought it was odd that both brochures had different listings. :confused3

The Disney site has an incomplete and outdated QSDP brochure. Only the latest one, published in January 2009, includes the restaurants that are not owned and run by Disney. When package bookings are released, they are not signed onto the plan - they don't do so until later, when their contracts are finalized. This is why you see Lotus Blossom on one list but not the other.

Look at the numbers on the bottom of the first page, left hand corner. If it says 0109, that is the complete brochure. If it says 0708, you are looking at the preliminary brochure published in July.

Does this apply to snack credits - 2 adults/ 2 children - everyone wants a snack and a drink? can I use 8 credits at once. On our last day we have 9 snack credits left - can I use them all for mickey rice crispies to bring home? Let me know your experience. Thanks.

Yes, yes, and yes. A "fixed priced" meal can be ordered (in most places) using basic DDP. In the case of Le Cellier, absolutely no substitutions are allowed.
