DH and I will be @ WDW in 2 weeks for our anniversary, without kiddos. I've been wanting to plan a trip and take my mom, she's getting on in years and if we don't do it soon, she won't be able to go for health reasons. DH called from work today and told me to go ahead and start planning Oct. 2008 trip for all of us!!! (me, DH, DD15, DS8, and Mom) So, here's my question, would you do a family (value) suite, or a wilderness cabin? We really don't want 2 separate rooms, and won't be able to afford a deluxe. We're leaning toward the cabin, but I wanted to get your opinions since you've always given great advice before.:) Thanks!

I'd do a cabin...don't they come with full kitychens etc? You might want to consider a 2 BR DVC unit too.

Since you are planning so far out - renting points from a DVC owner for a 2bedroom in a deluxe resort or 2 studio units may be a good option for you. You can rent righthere on this site but keep in mind the DVC can't reserve until 11 months out at their home resort so you'll have to wait until November for October reservation. I can tell you that a week in a studio at the WL is around 100 points and you can rent for about $10-$12 per point, a one bedroom is double that and a two bedroom around 280 points. So you could all stay together in two bedroom (full kitchen, washer/dryer,jacuzzi tub) for $2800 or rent two studios for $1000 each. I recommend the WLV as it is my favorite resort but it is also it's proximity to MK. If you know you will be spending alot of time at EPCOT then you may want to opt for the Beach Club or Boardwalk Villas as they right outside EP. You may even want to check out the AKL as I know that they have many 1 bedrooms that accommodate 5 people which would definately save you some cash, 153 points for October ($1600) for the week, if you want a savanna view (animals) it will be closer to $2000. The villas are brand new and from what I have heard they are gorgeous. Good Luck with your decision.

WOW, you guys rock!:cheer2: I would never have thought of renting DVC points, even though I've read about it. I'm definately going to check into that! THANKS!!!

Any questions - just let me know as I am a DVC owner and can explain most of the nuances. Just so you know - you'll still get the Magical Express free and you can opt for the dining plan. The DVC member just need to add both of these to your reservation and you can pay for the dining plan upon arrival.
