The CHOC walk is a fundraiser for the Children's Hosptial of Orange County and it's a walk very early in the morning through both DL and DCA. It's about 3 miles long and they have characters and entertainment along the way to cheer everyone on. This year it's Sunday, October 19.

Anyone interested in joining our team!? I would love help this good cause and it's a great excuse to have a Dis meet..

Anyone? :)

So far our CHOC Walk Dis Team consists of:

prettyprincessbelle & her DBF
disney-inspired
audrabolster
tinkandpooh & her daughters

Oh yeah, for those of you who don't know. The CHOC walk is a fundraiser for the Children's Hosptial of Orange County and it's a walk very early in the morning through both DL and DCA. DBF and I want to do it this year, and are just going to make a weekend out of it and go to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party that Friday.

Is there usually a Dis team that goes?

If not, anyone interested in making one? I would love help this good cause and it's a great excuse to have a Dis meet..

Anyone? :)

I heard about that & I'd love to do it. I wouldn't want to do it alone so that would be great to have a DIS team. I'm SO not in shape but I can walk 3 miles. NO RUNNING PLZ:lmao:

Lol, that's me. No way I could run 3 miles. Good thing it's a walk. And a nice, leisurely walk to. That I can handle..

Yes! 2 people on the Dis team! :rotfl:

Anyone else?

I am nowhere near being in shape and we had a team in the JDRF walk at Dodger Stadium. We walked around that thing 3 times and I swear it was all uphill, a steep hill. But I survived.

Here's some more info for everyone..

It's a minimum $25 (this was the price last year) to walk. I'm assuming it's per person. For how much money you earn (is we have Dis group it would be per group) you get certain prizes (t-shirts, pins, park hopper tickets, gift cards. etc)

I'm assuming you DON'T need a DL/DCA ticket to participate since you won't be going on rides or anything and the walking course is already maped out.

I know the walk starts BEFORE the parks open. So you would have to get there very very early..

Anything else I find I'll post...

:thumbsup2

I've heard that the price will be raised to $75 this year.

I've read that they do charge you for entrance to DL/DCA because you are welcome to stay in the parks afterwards. I'm not sure though.

Holy.. That's a lot. Its for a good cause though. So I guess no complaining.. But $25 was reasonable for me..

You know what, they might.. And you're probably right.. It doesn't say anything on the site about it though...

If you walk you get a discounted ticket price but I'm not sure how much the discount is.

Secondly, you can pledge money and raise the money then turn it in prior to the walk so you don't have to pay for it yourself - you can raise it from friends, neighbors, etc.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I told my parents and they said they would donate for me and I'll get more family.. It's for a great cause so you can't beat that! :)

Omg, awesome! I'm happy to see this coming together!!

There isn't much information on the CHOC Walk website for this year except for that it's going to be the 19th..

You can check out their site http://www.choc.org/chocwalk/walk_main.cfm

If you guys google Disneyland CHOC Walk 2007 there will be a lot of pictures and everything.. I don't want to post the links because it's other Disney message boards..

As soon as I get more information I will post it!

Woo!! :hyper:
