2008 BAN Wagon Support Group

My LSS had a yard sale yesterday, and I unloaded a TON of stuff. I got $116 in store credit. :woohoo: Then, the whole store was 30% off, and I had been thinking about getting a Bind It All, so I figured if I was going to get it, that was the day. So I got the machine and a few coils to get started, and I still have a nice chunk of change left in credit.

And I got 36 pages done at the crop, many of which used up items I found while cleaning my stash that I didn't even know I had. I'm happy with my progress!

Bummer I must have missed you yesterday! Glad to hear that you got rid of a bunch of stuff. I didn't sell my big alphabet, but I'm almost kinda glad. I wasn't sure if I was ready to get rid of it yet!

I know - I was thinking about you. I decided not to go to the yard sale as the point was to get rid of stuff, not to bring more in! So I just went to the crop. Are you cropping in February at all? I'll start the ball rolling on the other thread.

Wow, NEE!! That's awesome! I am so impressed when someone accomplishes so many pages - I went to a crop and got 4, yep 4, done. :sad2: Way to stay strong!

:thumbsup2 Great job, NEE. That was an awesome way to get your new tool. The Bind It All is on my wish list too. Until then, it's those binder rings (if that's what you call them) tied with scraps of ribbon.

Well this month is almost over and I feel like i probably did fall off the wagon. I got me some more jetmax cubes for reorganizing my stuff, which I did put this down on my list. Yesterday my husband offered to take me to the lss while we were out. The first time I have been there in about 7 weeks. I spent $30 and got some nascar paper, undo (dont need it, but its the only bottle I have found left. I heard they are not making it anymore), and 5 bottles of stickles. Earlier this month i bought some AC embellies that were 40% off at ACM. Did not need those. I still have the receipt to return. I just look at them and debate. So on stuff I did not have a must have I have spent about $60 on. So in terriable quilt I decided I would take away one of my online/qvc purchases. I do know I will probably get the TSV on QVC, but my hubby was going to get me a ring for V-day and I told him that the TSV would be better and the ring could wait for another special occasion.

I hope and pray Feb. will be better. I did get my cubes with some christmas money and I have about 4 more to get and have that $ put up for it. I feel sooooo bad. I have spent about what I usually do in a month. Uughhhh.:sad1:

Oh Gee, I ate dinner and did some scrappin and I come back to find out that I offended by fellow banners... I am so sorry, but I see that it has already been moved.

But on a good note I am using up a TON of my old papers.

Not offended at all. I just don't want anyone to be tempted if they are trying to be good.

And your original post has not been moved. I just edited my quote of your post so that I was duplicating the info. It would be great if you could edit your post when you have a sec.

Yay on using up your paper! That is so exciting to hear!!!!

Post has been edited... off to the other thread to share it

I need to see where I spent that $45, I really want to feel like it was well spent

Ugh.
Back on the BAN.

Don't feel bad! The cubes are for storage and organizing supplies are exempt on the BAN. Organizing allows you to use your supplies more effectively so you spend less.

You also shouldn't feel bad about your other purchases either. My goal with the BAN is that we actually think about our purchases before making them. You sound like you've accomplished that and that is what is so important.

I really think that you are doing fine with you BAN. Please don't be discouraged. I'm proud of you!

For whoever asked 3 pages back, I've never had a chip butty. For those who don't know its a sandwich made with white bread (preferably plasticy pre-sliced, not from a bakers) with Chips - big fat french fries from a proper fish & chip shop, not silly little skinny things - with ketchup or brown sauce. You can also have it with a fried egg in. YUCK! But DS(14) does put crisps (chips) in his sandwiches - as he has jam(jelly) sandwches and likes cheese & onion crisps best I'll let you decide how gross that is :rotfl:

that was me that asked about that sandwich. dh, ds and i were watching paula dean on the food network and she was over in London and had a chip butty sandwich and boy did it look good. and my dh said "hey ask your computer friend over there if she's ever tried one, 'cause they sure look good!". so i'll let him know. thanks.
by the way, have you tried your fluffernutter sandwich yet?

I can't believe that tomorrow will make FOUR WEEKS since I've purchased ANY scrapping supplies! I'm really glad we have this little ban wagon....it really has worked to keep me in line. I've done 17 pages this month, too, so clearly I wasn't hurting for supplies!

I'm doing OK with the ban. My fall off the wagon was a necessity. I had gone to PA to visit my aunt who in the hospital and not doing too well. I left on a Friday morning thinking I'd be seeing her and she died before I got there. My dd was with me and we took some of the old photos and made/framed scrapbook pages but i had to go to Walmart to buy some supplies. Everything I had at home but who would have thought to bring them along.

My only purchases so far have been adhesives (used coupons) and a 3 drawer storage item. I'm not going into craft stores as my resolve is not good in the face of great sales! I sorted paper yesterday and I'm apalled at the amount I've accumulated. The only problem is I'm short on card stock, at least in the colors I want to use so I will be purchasing that soon.

So sorry for your loss, vanyel. What a sweet thing to make the framed scrapbook pages though. I always think that is a lovely touch when you see them at memorials.

So sorry for your loss, vanyel. Good job on sorting that paper! I'm in the same boat. Plenty of PP but not enough cardstock. That's why I gave myself 4 CS shopping trips this year outside of my allowed days. It's a tool that we just can't do without.

So sorry for your loss vanyel - lucky you have some skills to make a lasting memorial to your loved one! I don't know how people manage without scrapping!

PO3 - not yet! I didn't get to make the fudge either yet as the weekend went a bit weird, but I do have all the ingredients lined up ready in the larder :goodvibes: The kids are not allowed PB at school because of nut allergies so they have to wait til Saturday to try one now. (They both said Urrrgghhh! when I told them, but that doesn't mean anything - they say that to everything they've not tried yet! :rotfl: Its a wonder they're not both on formula and baby rice still :lmao: )

Thanks all. It wasn't unexpected yet no one seemed to think it would be this soon. And when you're the one that lives out of town, all sorts of things seem to happen that can be depressing - somehow I should have known to come in sooner even my mother kept telling me to wait. I'm struggling a bit with some of these family things. My dd's wedding was on 12/29 (one of these days, I'll post some pictures), and it was great but my aunt had fallen right before the wedding and things were hard for my mother (she was her caregiver). Anyway, I've been in a bit of a funk and appreciate all the :hug:s.

One more  from me vanyel. I hope things start looking up for you.
