We had a good day at the competition! Our youth got 2nd out of 4, and 1st place definitely earned it, they were awesome. Dd's exhibition squad looked great! I didnt' realize how much she missed it. We told her she could go with her competitive squad to support them (she can't compete b/c of her arm until March 1) and she was so excited yeterday it was cracking us up. I'm glad she's almost back.
Congrat's - 2 out of 4 is great!! Sounds about like our competition yesterday.
We just got back from WSF in Charlotte and our Y1 won first. They thought they were going to come in 5th because they bobbled on their pyramid but they have great tumbling for a level 1 team. They also won last week first in their division and grand champions. I think that bobble will be good experience heading to Atlanta this weekend! My dd9 said she knew they won when they called the 2nd place team, ds11 said he wasn't sure until they announced Carolina Crossfire as the winners and dd6 said, "I knew we would win!" She is so funny!
Congrat's - Little bobbles aren't really much of a deduction, so glad she took first.
So we had a UCDA competition this weekend at our High School, so they payed us to help with set up and break down, we did the snack stand, manned the doors (but they did the ticket's into the school), we had a bake sale table, did the 50/50's and my DS11 asked for donations at the front door for our trip to National's at WDW in March (he raised $50.18 all by himself, lol). I did the 50/50's (OMG, I'm so sore from all the stairs, bleachers, kneeling down, squating etc.). I'm so tired, but we did make enough to finish paying the girls airline tickets that are due. Now we just need to pull together a cheer clinic for the pop warner and Middle school girls to pay for the other coach and hopefully the bus to the airport and luggage fees.
Our school district has pulled funding for our coach to go, all buses to our competitions (so now we have to pay for the bus to the aiport), so now we have things to pay for that we weren't planning on.
They took 2nd out of 3 yesterday. First place was the school that took 2nd on Saturday, and we knew they would be fired up to win yesterday. The other squad so deserved 1st and they went before our girls. We knew after they performed that unless our girls were flawless like the day before they would take second. They compete against these girls again next Saturday - so it's actually exciting to see such a great rivalry amoungst friends. Both of these schools support each other at competitions by sitting on the mat at cheering each other on. Both teams have girls who are on the same All-Star team, so they are all very friendly with each other.......but you know each team want's to beat the other one very bad, no matter that they are cheering each other on. It's actually very cool to see them support each other. They did a half time routine together a few weeks ago when the boy's basketball teams played. It was cool to see them stunting and doing a routine together that they learned at cheer camp.
Exciting and fun weekend for us - boy are we tired.
