2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Good Morning All
For you people who have received yiur cruise Doc's. How did you receive them UPS reg mail or other. We haven't reveived ours yet.
danandnan

We got out doc via USP, it came in a white bubble envelope. I can't believe we sail in 2 weeks. We're going to watch HSM on Ice on the 19th so we will see some of you at the Hyatt really late on Sat or early sunday. I can't wait....are we there yet?....are we there yet?....are we there yet??????

I'm back, my computer has been down for awhile, so it's been hard trying to catch up.
It seems the closer we get, the more posts per day there are, and I was faaling farther behind.

Anyway, we recieved our docs on Friday from UPS, they just left it leaning up against our door. I was a little surprised at that, if anyone wanted the package, it was in plain view of anyone walking by. I hope no one gets thier package stolen if that is the way UPS works.

I can't wait to cruise under a full moon. How nice is that?

No cruise doc here yet in michigan. How can the uk and the west coast get them before us. We even register for the cruise early are they lost, did someone steal them, is someone hiding them from me(annette?:confused3:rotfl2: ) Well i will be on the ship even if i dont get them because i can get the bahama document and the luggage tags at the port, cant I? I have a confirmation and everything else is registered.

We Sail in 2 WEEKS!!!!!! :yay:  :cool1:

Monday is my official day to start the panic process if we don't have cruise docs. Anyone else not yet have docs?
I've been trying to get DD back to health - she's got a bad cold and now an ear infection. We'll finish the 10days of antibiotics while at WDW.
Kay, are you feeling a bit better now? You've had so much running around with DD's kidney stones, and Abby that I'm not sure you've had time to take care of you...
Also for Kay - anxiously awaiting 10/10 and the return to the US of your DS on his Bday. Give him a huge THANKS from us for serving in our military and a Happy Birthday. We should toast his return and Bday while on the cruise :thumbsup2
Icydog: how is DH - hope you ALL make the cruise.
I need to make our door signs - Post It paper is more likely to fall off door than leave residue. There won't be residue, but DH suggests we use a magnet on the corner just so DCL doesn't worry about it... Others leave notes for each other on post-its, so I've heard - at least they are listed in the packing list as such.
I've got pirate costumes or approximations there of for entire family but me - I'll be the pirate wench. Anyone else doing pirate wench? Based on the lack of diet/weight loss this summer, I may need the corset for more than pirate night :scared: now, back to packing...

No need to panic if you don't get your cruise docs in the mail. There is really nothing in them that you can't get at the port.

Of course, I haven't got mine either yet (for either of the cruises), but figure I'll just get a luggage tag from the porter if I need to and a Bahamas form at the terminal.

We buy our magnet paper from Walmart. It comes in a package of 5. In fact, here's the info, since I'm sitting at the computer and they are right next to me! Avery Magnet Sheets #3270, 5 unprinted magnet sheets 8 1/2" x 11". If I remember right, I paid about $7.50 for them. They are also at the office supply stores. I just put the magnet paper in my printer and print them out. I do a test run first on white paper.

Only 2 weeks to go!!!

All you DCL vetrans, What is the best time to arrive at the terminal? What time do they allow you to board the ship? We are driving and staying Sat night in Port Canaveral so we are very flexible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Good morning everyone - we have a Member Gallery Update!

Here are our updates:

Viraj (Ethan's Dad) and his family

Ann (annie8387) and her family

Kelly (disney25) was already part of the gallery but sent in her cabin number and photo of her and boyfriend Ron

Welcome to everyone!

Linda - I'll be sending the list to you this afternoon after I do one final check.

No documents here in IL but I figure we'll get them Monday or Tuesday. We usually get them 2-3 days after they start arriving elsewhere so no panic. Plus as Linda says we can get luggage tags at the terminal and the bahama form at the port if needed.

We plan on getting to the port some time after 10 or so. We're doing Mass at Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine, then breakfast at McDonalds and then heading over the port. Boarding usually starts between 11:30 and noon so we really aren't in a rush.

Pappy - since you have a car if you aren't staying someplace that offers breakfast you might want to consider Grills for breakfast. It is right on the channel and you can see the Wonder from there. We met up with some fellow DIS cruisers in May for breakfast before we sailed and the food was good!

I never thought of a back pack. I have a rolling back pack in my basement that I can use. I gave my DVC back packs away. What's a Blue Hawaiian? I think 18 beers will have to be enough beer for DSIL. Can you drink beer on deck or only in your room? Can you bring coolers on board?

A blue Hawaiian is RUM,BLUE CARACO,PINEAPPLE JUICE,CREME OF COCONUT

We just use captain morgans parrot bay instead of creme of coconut.Parrot Bay is a coconut rum.

18 beers is cutting it close but they have plenty on the boat. The last time I got the refill beer mug that they offered.I think it was about a dollar cheaper for refill's and the glass was 16 oz instead of 12 oz.i remember the last time we had a $200 on board cedit and between bingo and booze I still had a $500.00 tab at the end.:rotfl2:
Oh Ya I forgot about the rentals, clothes an all the other things we did and bought.

tiggerguy :thumbsup2

Linda - be on the lookout for 3 e-mails from me that includes the cruise spreadsheet and deck plans! We are getting close now!

Hi Everyone....
Today is the last day to register for the FE list.. I will work on getting the list & get the numbers out to all participants tomarrow.
We have not rec'd our DOCS yet here in Buffalo,NY:sad2: I dont't know if they will come tomorrow as it is a Holiday- Columbus Day..Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends.
DH & I are doing pirate dress. I will be a wench, which is a pretty easy costume. We will use our pirate attire afterwards at WDW for MNSSH. pirate:
Had a busy week end here..had a garage sale yesterday & sold everything by 1:30PM..met many nice people. Today it is raining on & off. It has been uncharacteristically warm here. Last year, we had a horrible snow storm on the 13 & are not looking for a repeat
Got go do some housework & find my stuff to pack, make door signs & do laundry..Have a great Sunday everyone:cool1:

No cruise docs here in CT either....now i have to wait until tuesday and hope they come. One more business trip and then the next time I get on the plane I will be headed to FLORIDA!! Everything I do is a countdown of how many more times I do it before the crusie!!

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend and I can't wait to meet everyone on the ship.

:thanks: Thanks for doing this! :thanks:

No docs here in Texas either.

Where in TX? - We're on the gulf coast south of Houston and driving to FL. And just watched the Weather Channel's "It Could Happen Tomorrow" about IF a cat 5 hit Houston. Scary because we're those folks that would be stuck on the coast if Houston panics again and clogs the road. How on earth are they going to ensure coastal areas are evacuated first? ...end rant... must call Brazoria and Matagorda county officials and "ask respectful questions" where it may do us some good.
Now back to cruise planning.
Does anyone know if the drinking water is processed through a reverse osmosis and/or carbon filter system? I remember liking the water last time, but I've started having digestive difficulties with highly chlorinated water. I am so spoiled on our well water through RO filter. Would rather not bring and buy cases of water on-board...
So I'm still singing (badly) "It's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow," and envisioning that place where "the birds sing words and the flowers croon, in the ..." Still packing and finding so much that the kids have outgrown. The give away pile is as large as the to-pack pile! Is anyone else bringing (grand)children? We homeschool, so I control our vacation schedule and we've just studied medieval China and Japan, so I can work this in well with Epcot - woohoo. Any excuse to sample more goodies at F&W festival!

Thanks for coordinating the list - I'm so excited. I need to finish laying out family's clothing then finish sewing our FE.
Glad I won't be the only wench! We're not planning on MNSSHP this year (did last year on my Bday and the family dressed as a Bday party - very fun and CMs gave us certificates for original costumes - no higher honor to me!) but we will re-wear our pirate and wench attire on Oct 31 in the parks.
Do DVC resorts do any trick-or-treating or is it reserved for MNSSHP? I was thinking of carving pumpkins at the villa and displaying them (unlit or battery lights) on a pumpkin goo proof tray in the hall, but I don't know if someone would smash it and make a mess. I was also thinking of being in the room with a bucket of candy the evening of 10/31 to distribute to resort kids that walk by - or am I getting too "at home" at my resort?

Now back to cruise planning.

We are in the Dallas Ft. Worth area...right next to the DFW airport...I should start watching the weather...I haven't been at all.

I will be interested in the water question too. I don't really care, but Dawn might.

MALLONS...thanks for doing the FE. I went and bought more stuff this weekend as the list went to 36. I will be anxious to know if I need to go and get more!

Is there a list of everyone who is registered?

Cheryl

If you send me the list I will include a "fish" next to their name and stateroom number to show they are participating in the fish extender exchange in the mini-navigator.
