As far as motion sickness, coughs and colds I'm including my experiences and strategies below - treat like a salad bar and take only those things you think you'd like...
I've been taking ginger capsules for motion sickness since last cruise. DH stuck with Bonine until he saw ginger on MythBusters. You know, I have no authority as DW, but the MythBusters...

We now stock ginger and will take 2 with breakfast before boarding and if we're noticing any movement take another as needed. I'm glad I found something that works for us and can be used even after feeling ill if we've forgotten to take it before.
As far as colds go, we significantly decrease the length and severity of our colds with: olive leaf, elderberry, esterC and zinc, and/or airborne. We are currently retesting our theories and hoping for success within a week so we're well when we leave for WDW/
DCL/WDW! DD has gotten over cold (started Thursday at bed-time) but now has cough so we will continue the elderberry and olive leaf and add to it deglycyrrhizinated (so it doesn't raise blood-pressure) licorice root extract. Start antibiotics for her ear infection today (pharmacy had to order it when it wasn't available Friday) with probiotics on the side to keep digestion normal.
All-in-all, I'm feeling pretty lucky. Nothing major and we're getting the minor out of the way before we go.
