I'm confused (no surpirse there for those who know me well). are the models at Saratoga or at Animal Kingdom? and if there are at SSR how did I miss them when we were there in March?

They're at Saratoga, but they are in the theater, not to where you get when you follow the signs that say "Model Rooms" <---go figure, you know we learned this the hard way!

And I actually think they weren't open in March yet.

They are in the theater building at SSR... they were open in the evenings to members 5:30 ish.... They were having a "party" when we were there in April... hor de vors and virgin drinks....

Nick had 3 girls on his rec team.... one girl I called Tess the tree..... Once she was in her spot there she was... and her mom had the nerve to tell the coach she did not get enough playing time... ( he was very fair but all kids would like a shot at winning). anyways we also have 1 girl on the baseball team. I am sorry but at this age she needs to be playing softball and honing those skills. That and she stinks - another good tree. I am with you - if Nick just stood out there - I would have the coach yank him and I would make him watch the next game from the sideline and he would not play the next year. I sure as heck could find something better to do with that hour of freezing cold game time.... I was reading on the football league site and boy oh boy are they an organized group. Of course all these registrations are right now..... Diana - where is that money tree - I need a branch. :rotfl2:

Tess the Tree. I love it. :rotfl2:

 So Amy, Cindy, Gail---if our next girls trip is stayed at AKV--you can have the bed and the pull out--I'll sleep in the bathtub!! :lmao:

Cool. Then we'll just turn the water on while your snoozing. :rotfl:

HOLEY MOLEY:scared1:

You all have been CHATTY the last day or so! We have been so busy doing Home projects and we both had meetings last night. HOPEFULLY things will start to slow down in a few days. I have been busy working on our scrapbook for last years two trips while at the bulance. I will post a few pics soon.

Drat, we won't be home!!

We're headed up to Magic meets and to NYC where Todd will visit his brother and I have a convention to attend.

-Cheryl

We will be down July 13-18...if your interested let us know! We really have no definite plans, except a few dinner ressies on Friday and Saturday! If you guys are interested I'll PM you our cell #'s!

Jeff, I think we will do MK on the 30th for Fantasy in the Sky, and then MGM the 31st for Sorcery in the Sky. I did see the hours, and the EMH will probably nt matter for us, we will have Lauren with us, and shes only 4. I do have a question about the parks closing, if your staying on property, do they still allow you in? I know they did for the 4th of July 2 years ago, but I'm not sure how NYE works! Thanks for all the info, and if you guys are interested in hanging out let me know...:)

We did NYE at Epcot for 2005/2006 and had a blast despite Matt's food poisoning or flu - whichever it was. From how I understand it, as a resort guest you are guaranteed in a park, but not necessarily the park of your choice. Each park has levels of closing and often during the late afternoon go down to only resort guests or closed due to capacity. You may not be able to get into MK but Epcot and MGM you normally can get into. there are a lot of threads on the Theme Park board that can explain it :)

It will be a blast - have fun! Oh and it's nosier than all get out after they hand out the noise makers!

We loved the AKV room models in May - but decided not to add on as well we enjoy SSR and want to pay it off first!

We do get a dvc email from a yahoo group and it mentioned that someone walked into CRV room models and management was livid ... I'm hoping for CRV and Hawaii! (lol to use our points, not buy more)

Maybe next time...have a great time at magic meets, and everywhere else you are going! We will be back for 1 night after our cruise in September...the 23, maybe we can do dinner or something in the parks!

Happy Sunday

Beautiful day here in Chicagoland :sunny: Cameron & I are off to a family reunion today for my Mom's side. This is the second year it's being held, last year we were in Hilton Head. Gary & Walker will meet us there later when they get back from camping - I'm sure dirty and grungy and stinky.

Cameron played a baseball game yesterday, hitting homerun #4 for this year. :cheer2: Gary has yet to see any of the ones Cameron has hit this year. We've come to the conclusion that for some reason, Gary is a jinx to Cameron. I just might have to start video taping the games so Gary can see them later and Cameron can continue to hit the homers. ;)

Poor Gary not getting to see any of Cameron's hits.
Sounds like you just might have to video tape him up at bat so thet Gary can see the big moments.

We haven't gotten it any email yet. My guide totally hates me! Although I can't see myself hiking and rafting anyways:lmao: and the points seem phenomenally high. But "making DVC history" seems intriguing. We could be pioneers! :lmao:

I would be MUCH more interested if we hadnt just been thee in April:confused3

Oh Well thats the way it goes.

So many times I post about tragedies so here is a good news one for a change. Our FD was on the next level of the box alarm to be called to help search for this girl and her grandfather. Fortunately we werent needed

MOMENCE, Ill. - A 5-year-old girl who was feared drowned with her grandfather on a boating trip startled searchers Friday when she emerged from the woods — naked, scratched and holding raspberries.

Crews had pulled her grandfather's body from the Kankakee River in eastern Illinois just hours earlier.

"People were like, 'Who's that little girl? That can't be her, can it?'" Kankakee Sheriff's Chief Deputy Ken McCabe said. "I went up to her (and) asked, 'How you doing? What's your name?'"

When authorities told Hannah Klamecki's family — already grieving the loss of her grandfather — that she was alive, the home erupted in screaming.

Hannah was taken to a hospital as a precaution. She slept with her parents and a teddy bear at her side before being released. Cradling the bear, she spoke freely of her ordeal Friday evening.

"I was scared last night when everybody was gone," she said. "I went searching all over the world to look for the cottage (where her grandparents live)."

Hannah had scratches on her face and body and thick dirt under her nails. She had poison ivy rashes on her legs and couldn't walk because splinters and thorns cut her feet.

Hannah and her grandfather, David Klamecki, 62, were last seen Wednesday evening on the river near Momence, about 45 miles south of Chicago.

Authorities believe the river current swept the girl away from a small island where she and her grandfather had stopped to swim and to the shore of the mainland where she eventually was found.

She told searchers she was wearing floats on her arms and pulled herself from the water with a branch.

"That's a tough little girl, I tell you," McCabe said.

Hannah said she had taken off her bathing suit because it was muddy and itchy, friends of the family said.

She was also a bit dehydrated and "very, very tired," said Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee spokesman Carl Maronich.

On Friday morning, searchers found her grandfather's body near the island, which is close to a part of the river locals call "Whirlpool Bend" because of strong currents from the union of the river and two tributaries.

The surrounding area is wilderness with no homes, and populated only by coyotes and deer, Momence Fire Chief Dave Horn said.

Richard Wehrle, a friend and neighbor of David Klamecki, said the area is notoriously treacherous.

"Anybody who knows that river knows that that's the deadliest part of the river," Wehrle said.

The girl's footprints were still visible on the island beach. Searchers believed she had drowned and were scouring the area with a team of divers, sonar equipment and a helicopter.

Hannah appeared just before 10:30 a.m., in an area about three-quarters of a mile from where she's believed to have reached the shore, McCabe said.

The girl was reunited with her parents, who were waiting with family and friends at the grandparents' home.

Hannah calmly sat in a rescue vehicle when her parents saw her for the first time, her father said.

"She didn't say much," Mike Klamecki said. "She was eating her banana looking at us. We were jumping around like maniacs."

Tricia Little, a close family friend of Hannah's parents, said David Klamecki taught the girl and her two younger sisters about the outdoors. She credits that instruction — and God — with Hannah's survival.

Hannah's father, Mike Klamecki, is senior pastor at New Hope Community Church in Villa Park. Little's husband, Brian, said parishioners have been "praying for his whole family."

I have been on LOTS of drownings in this river through the years and VERY few rescues. This was one very lucky little girl!

PS: And no I am not related to the cop that was interviewed.

I read that story. It sounds like it's a miracle that little girl is alive.
Will wonders never cease to exist!

Wondeful story about the little girl. :cheer2: :cheer2: We need so many more of them in this crazy world we live in. It sounds like Hannah wasn't overly tramatized by her adventure. Like you said, Steve, one lucky little girl!

:bday: :bday: Happy Birthday Bruce! :bday: :bday:

Happy Father's Day! :happytv:

We're off to soccer in a little while. It's the last game of the year. :dance3:

We have friends visiting for the weekend, so we've just been chilling out. We usually don't relax so much for a weekend, I'm sure tomorrow we'll be dragging from doing nothing but relaxing. A little shopping yesterday, dinner out last night, baseball yesterday. Makes for a great father's day weekend, as it's a hard holiday for us to celebrate with neither me nor Gary having our Dad's here any more.

Gail, I'm thinking of you today, as well, on this hard day for you.

Have fun everyone! :sunny:
