We're off to soccer in a little while. It's the last game of the year. :dance3:

We have friends visiting for the weekend, so we've just been chilling out. We usually don't relax so much for a weekend, I'm sure tomorrow we'll be dragging from doing nothing but relaxing. A little shopping yesterday, dinner out last night, baseball yesterday. Makes for a great father's day weekend, as it's a hard holiday for us to celebrate with neither me nor Gary having our Dad's here any more.
Then, that sounds like a perfect father's day!!

No big plans for us for Father's Day today. Chris was at a barbershop conference this weekend in Orlando, and drove home at 1am, just to be home for the girls for Father's Day. They gave him a few gifts, and then we'll just hang out in the pool and cook out for dinner. Hopefully, just a nice, relaxing day.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE DADS
We're headed over to my sisters for a cookout for the day.

Happy Father's Day!!!

Today we had a Baptism to go to of our friends daughter and then a brunch afterwards at their house. Came home did a litle housecleaning and will be off to my parents house in a little bit.
Yesterday we started packing up some things to start working on staging our place to try to sell it and look for something bigger.

We're hanging out and getting ready to start the new week. Walker went with a friend to the pool, so it's always easier to tackle cleaning the house without a 7 year olds help.

We had a wonderful weekend with our house guests although it was rather hot today. I think all of us baked at Walker's soccer game this morning. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: It was a 10 a.m. game and still hot as blazes out there.

Tomorrow I'm off by default, being that my only two full time daycare children are out of town. Nothing like getting paid for a day when your not expecting it. :cool1: I do have an interview here with a perspective parent at 9 but after that, we're trying to figure something fun to do with the rest of the day. Hard thing with that is Cameron & Walker both have such different interests, it's a little challenging to get them to both agree on one place.

Stacy, good luck getting ready to put your place on the market. I hope it sells in 1 day pixiedust: pixiedust:

We had a busy weekend here. We tiled the tub surround 1/2 yesterday and finished up today. had to stop yesterday for Nicks baseball game. Nick was up to bat and a deer came walking across the outfield. I yelled to Nick -- AIM FOR THE DEER...... of course I got a picture of it.

We ended up being 1 stinking tile short so now I have to buy another box.
But we will have extras in case anything happpens.

This week Rich is of to an HP server training and I am having to go to Little Rock. Nick will be going to Cedar point. NONE of us together. :confused3

I hope everyone has a great week. Will it ever rain???? my grass is quite crunchy!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Belated Birthday, Bruce!

Stacy, good luck with selling the house!

Cindy, I know about the sweating out in the heat! We decided to go swimming yesterday because it was so hot!

Erin, safe travels to all of you!

We had a good weekend, my girls were off with their dad, so Tim and I kinda just relaxed with his daughter.

This week is going to be a little odd for me, the girls came back home last night, then they leave on Tuesday with my mom for a trip. They wont be back until Sunday afternoon. I'm not used to not having them for so long! Hopefully I get some much needed work around the house done!

Have a great Monday!

Happy Belated Borthday Bruce, hope all the fathers had a good fathers day.

We went to Boca Raton and visited with Todd's stepmom and had a nice lunch at legal seafood. Boy I miss them!

I didnt have the heart to post this on fathers day. I went to school with this girls mom, although she was a few years younger than me , and also worked with her at the hospital for years. Very sad way to spend a saturday afternoon.

KANKAKEE COUNTY

Mac student killed in crash

A Bishop McNamara High School student was killed Saturday when the car she was driving struck a tree along Route 113.

Jamie Brandenburg, a 16-year-old Limestone Township resident, was pronounced dead at 4:05 p.m. at the accident scene, Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner said.

She was the daugher of Jeff Brandenburg of Limestone Township and Jodi Brandenburg of Kankakee.

Bishop McNamara Principal Jim Laurenti described Jamie as a good student who was pleasant and friendly. She was active in track and other sports, he said. She would have been a senior in the upcoming school year and had attended McNamara since her freshman year.

Jamie was alone in the car when the accident occurred on Route 113 about one-half mile east of Warner Bridge Road. Illinois State Police are reconstructing the crash.

Gessner said it appears that she drove off the shoulder and then tried to steer back onto the roadway, but she lost control. The vehicle went down an embankment and hit a tree. The impact was at the driver's door.

Jamie was not wearing a seat belt. She suffered head, neck and chest injuries.

I think the last sentence speaks volumes! She left over 200 feet of skidmarks SIDEWAYS and the Ill.State Police estimate her speed at impact at 62 mph! Its a 55 mph highway!

Very, very sad. :sad1: Such a tragedy for someone so young with what should have been a lifetime ahead of her.

We were seatbelts all the time. In fact, Cameron just told me today that when he rode with our house guest over the weekend, that he noticed on the couple of occassional that he did, the driver did not wear a seat belt. :sad2: I think I'm going to have to see if there is any chance of changing that behavior as it really bothered Cameron. I know, given an accident that the survival rate is usually higher when a seatbelt is worn.

As a kid, we never wore seat belts but my Dad always wore a seatbelt. I wonder now why my Dad never instilled that same principle in us? Gary's daughter, when she was little is the one that got me into the habit. I never wore one before meeting her, but she use to check to make sure I had one on and who was I to lie to a 4 year old. I guess she taught me something good after all. :thumbsup2

Erin, isn't Nick a little early for Cedar Point? ;) Are you just having him ride on a roller coaster until you get there? That's one way to make sure he doesn't get into trouble over the summer! :rotfl2:

Can you believe, only 23 days!!!! :dance3: party::dance3:party: :dance3: party:

We also wear seatbelts all the time and I actually do not allow anyone to ride in the front seat without one on. I know that on our way to Great Wolf Lodge I did have to hound the driver to put his belt on.... hmmm one would think that he would know to wear it!
