The Broadway show thread where we discuss all things Broadway

Not Broadway, but we just got tix for Operation Mincemeat for our first visit to London in June. I know it's been around for a while, but it seemed the most alluring choice for us. I guess Paddington is the big ticket event now, all but sold out through July, but It looks more like a kiddie show to me, and any interest would strictly be FOMO on our behalf.

Equus looked good too, but I wasn't sure we'd be in the moof for something so heavy. The Into the Woods revival has gotten unanimous praise, but it's ending, and not extending, at the end of May.
I don't think Paddington is to kiddie at all. My dd and I would kill to go see that, but going to London just isn't in the cards right now. Have you seen the movies?

I know enough to know that it's probably a great crossover, but I'm telling myself that it's for the kids because I can't get tickets!

I haven't seen the movies, but have heard good things, especially about Paddington 2. I'll check them out one of these days.

LOL, ok, yes it's for kids!
But you should watch the movies, my dd (who is 30) and I laughed off the trailers for the first one as garbage. Then we saw the reviews so we watched. They are soooooooooo good. We love them all, he is now my dd's 2nd favorite behind Stitch.

Operation Mincemeat - Our son highly recommended this show after seeing it several months ago. It's a five-person cast that switches (often quickly) between roles to tell the story of a secret British plan that happened during WWII. The plot and dialogue move quickly, so I was glad I had read the synopsis before seeing the show. It was easier to just enjoy the performances rather than worry about following the often intricate plot. The show is very funny and the performances were great. The original cast is leaving today, but I'm sure the new cast will be just as good.
That's the one I will try to get rush tickets for when I'm in NYC in a couple weeks. Good to know that's a fast pace show, I should probably also read the synopsis before handl. It's either that show or Maybe Happy Ending, depending on which one I could get tix for. Good thing they both have online rush so I don't have to actually stand in line at the box office.
