2006 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC06 - October 22, 2006

I started wearing a seatbelt the day I found out I was pregnant with Dawn - that was in 1983 when seatbelt laws weren't in effect. Even car seats were quite archaic by today's standards. When the kids were a bit older and were sitting in the seat I would check in the rear view mirror and see that a seat belt wasn't done. I would tell them the car wouldn't start until all the seatbelts were fastened. Fast forward to the day David bought his first car, he wanted to take us for a drive. John sat in the front and I crawled in the back. John told him he would have to start the car if he wanted to take us for a drive. David looked back at me and said "The car doesn't start until all the seat belts are fastened" Funny how he bought a car with the same feature mine had

My counter says 22, I must be counting until Thursday.....but either way.....I'm SOOOOOO excited!!!!! I actually leave 2 weeks from Saturday!!

Mine must be at 21 since we are leaving on the Wednesday and stopping at Niagra Falls overnight.

I've always wear my seatbelt.
Probably because when I was little (before kids had to be in cars seats) I was sitting on my mom's lap and my dad had to stop short because someone had cut him off and I hit the dashboard and my bottom teeth went thru my bottom lip and I needed to get stitch's. So I have a little scar under my lip to remind me of why to wear a seatbelt!!

Erin, isn't Nick a little early for Cedar Point? Are you just having him ride on a roller coaster until you get there? That's one way to make sure he doesn't get into trouble over the summer!




Can you believe, only 23 days!!!!

Yep he is staying on the Magnum until we all get there!!!!! He is going to YMCA camp and today was field trip day to Cedar Point..... I dropped him off this am and then headed to the airport. He told me to call him when I landed so he knew I made it safely. I just gave him a big old hug and told him " HOney when I land in Little Rock you will be on the Magnum or Gemini."

Rich is in your great City of Chacago!!! for HP classes. He is in awe of Wrigleys field.

I am going to mosey on down the the bar and get me a MOJITO - my new favorite drink.

I was going to suggest I meet you at WDW to ease your pain of not being at Cedar Point. But then I remembered I'm cheap and my pass is not valid during the summer months.

We just made reservations for October for Vero Beach. We have never been, so am looking forward to checking it out. And believe it or not, no kids are coming this time, just Joe and I. That should be different in itself.

Hey Carol - you let me know whenever you head over to WDW, and we'll meet up!! I just miss all of my DIS friends, and the fact that SO many are going to be together just makes me sad that I can't be there. Heck, we've been SO busy here lately that I haven't seen or heard from even Jeff. But, I'm sure that part of that is also that we haven't gone to Lakeland in quite a while.

Amy, we wish you were going to be coming to Cedar Point too, but I'm sure there will be other trips and hopefully they will be planned for the near future. Deanna is so excited about coming down in July! I hope you're ready for her for 5 days!!!

Sadly, I will most likely be missing the Cedar Point meet - I will be in DE or traveling back from there sometime around the time that you are all riding those crazy coasters. Have a fun time!
Maybe I'll get to meet up with you another time - busy traveling around before my next cruise.

Hi all. July is almost here!

It has been perfect weather for the last several weeks. I sure do hope it remains that way for CP weekend/day.

Ted is in NY near Albany for most of the week. I think they are letting them come home tomorrow after 1/2 day of working. He must drive the 9+ hours back after his working til noon. I think that is not in the employees best safety interest. I can't believe they would have them all do this.

The trip from here to OH isn't that bad---the good thing is there's zero chance of hitting a blizzard on the back side of Buffalo, so the trip is bearable--just very very boring.

I thought you had cancelled Vero Beach to stay at Animal Kingdom. Jennifer has mentioned in the past about wanting to go there. But we will be going during the week so they won't be able to come down. Had to plan something, we didn't have any vacation to look forward to. Guess it is time to change my ticker.

That's good!! If you see him, tell him we said HI too! I forgot all about Star Wars weekends until my neighbor came over today to ask us to watch her house for a couple of days. She's on her way over to MGM tomorrow for the rest of the week. She goes every year for the Star Wars and Super Soad weekends.

The girls are SO excited for Deanna's trip!! Emily started marking the days off on the calendar until she gets here! I hope that she's not disappointed, because we're kinda boring around here. We've spent the summer with swim lessons and then just hanging in the pool during the day. That's about it! But, we will be bringing her to WDW for a couple of days, so that should be fun too.

I know you all must of been heartbroken to hear you would need to add a couple of days to your vacation in order to save money on airfare.

Tell David I repainted the Pooh room for him. The new color is not quite as bright green. (I know he is aiming for Tampa, but he can still visit here)
