I started wearing a seatbelt the day I found out I was pregnant with Dawn - that was in 1983 when seatbelt laws weren't in effect. Even car seats were quite archaic by today's standards. When the kids were a bit older and were sitting in the seat I would check in the rear view mirror and see that a seat belt wasn't done. I would tell them the car wouldn't start until all the seatbelts were fastened. Fast forward to the day David bought his first car, he wanted to take us for a drive. John sat in the front and I crawled in the back. John told him he would have to start the car if he wanted to take us for a drive. David looked back at me and said "The car doesn't start until all the seat belts are fastened" Funny how he bought a car with the same feature mine had
