Steve, glad he finally went in. Hope he's feeling alot better soon! pixiedust:

Steve - sorry to hear about your son. Glad he got it taken care of in time. Here's to a quick recovery!

says his Dr. sent him in for abdominal pain. They did a MRI and decided he should see the surgeon. At 3 am he called and said his surgery was at 4 am. The surgeon called us at 6 and said his Appendix was abcessed and the worst one he has seen in twenty years. OH YEAH, this is the son that has been complaining about pain since before Christmas and wouldnt go to a Dr. ANYWAY after I get done at the FD today Coleen and I will be headed up to see him.

I'm glad he finally went in and had it taken care of. pixiedust:

Must be a busy day for those doctors are we are now home from Walker's surgery. Fiesty as he is, he's a bit upset right now because he wanted to go outside and play basketball. How am I going to keep him down the next couple of days?? :sad2: I guess that's a good sign that's he's rearing to go -- or it could be the codeine taking effect.

Glad Walker's home and ready to go. Good Luck getting him to rest some.

I heard codiene has the opposite effect on kids :yay:as it does adults.

He is in Joliet so he is only about 45 min away. He just called Coleen a few minues ago . Kind of groggy and on a morphine drip for pain. Otherwise doesnt feel real bad I will post updates as they become available.

THANK YOU ALL for the hugs and well wishes.

Cindy - I'm glad that Walker thinks he's well enough to do all that - good luck trying to get him to rest. Hope he gives you a break.

Steve - glad to hear your son is on the mend - probably very lucky! Hope he is feeling better in no time.

WOW... not good. Good to hear they caught it in time.

Mine decided to act up 5 years ago. I was not having abdominal pain.. I had the worst heart burn sensation ever..... I went to work until I could not stand it any longer. Of course we were supposed to be leaving for vaction that evening. Instead I was in the ER and had my surgery the next morning. I was discharged the next day and off we went on our 12 hour drive from Memphis to Cleveland. How do you tell a 2 year old mommy can't pick you up? I am such the dummy though... I was told to take 2 weeks off and I burned my vacation time up instead of using short term disability and went to work the following week. DUH!!!!!!

Hopefully he will be able to come home tomorrow.

Cindy,

Glad Walker is feeling pretty good. Hopefully recovery will be very easy for him.

Steve & Coleen,
I'm glad to hear your son is doing ok. P&P for a quick and speedy recovery to him. He's lucky he went to the doctor and his appendix didn't burst.

Cindy,
I'm so glad Walker is doing well.
I can imagine h'll be a handful to keep settled down for a couple of days while he recouperates.

You are all very nice! I will pass on all these well wishes next time I see him. We went up to the hospital and he has a pretty long incision, with a drain in it. Very sore and on a morphine pump. He is moving very slow too. May not get to go home until Monday or even Tuesday. I think he will make a full recovery though.

Thanks again everyone.

Steve and Colleen - Matt and I are so glad to hear your son is doing well and will be making a full recovery. Sounds like he has a very high pain threshold.

Cindy - so glad Walker is doing better!!

Cindy,

Glad to hear Walker is doing fine.

Happy Easter Everyone!:flower3:

We have a couple of friends who went through a lot with their appendix bursting. I'm glad that didn't happen but with the drain, it sounds like they are concerned with what might have been left behind. I'm glad he's making progress - those stomach surgeries are tough to recooperate from.

I hope he's feeling better today. pixiedust:

As for Walker, if I didn't know he had surgery yesterday, I wouldn't know that anything was amiss. He's anxious to get the bandages off Monday morning and he so wants to go out and play basketball and rollerblade. Good thing it's on the chilly side today or we'd have to tie him up to keep him down. :scared: I haven't told him that most likely gym and recess are out next week at school.

It looks like we'll be keeping our brunch plans for tomorrow. :cheer2:

And, today, I'm finishing up Cameron's Boy Scout scrapbook and then I'll post pictures over on the yahoo group. :cool1:

Good morning everyone!
Happy Easter!
