Hi this is Curt - 4GusGus&Figaro is my better half.

Karen finally locked me to a computer and talked me through the maze of subscribing to individual threads.

To shed light on my innocent :rotfl2: youth I grew up in the 1400 block of Harvey Ave (1409 actually) and went to St. Frances of Rome (When they still had a REAL church). Karen and I were in Chicago just a couple of weeks ago and it really depressed me to see that gothic, old chuch now just a parking lot.

As Karen stated there is A LOT going on at work, so my surfing time has been greatly curtailed. Now that I am subscribed to the thread I will at least get the e-mail alerts.

See you in September 06

Hi Curt and welcome to the DIS. I'm trying to my DH to be more than a lurker over my shoulder. Annmarie

Didn't cost a thing. You walked in - signed a list - got your DVD and go! It was the ONLY reason I went out last black Friday.

Even better!!! :cool1:

No fear, I now will have this song stuck in my head for months. :rotfl:

Any Chicago folks watching the news... horrendous train vs cars accident.... several cars involoved. They are saying no fatalities...

Umm, Stacy, you might have met your match. I'll let Gary tell you what his nickname was before I met him and why. :rotfl2:

I'm not worried. I'll take on all challengers!!!
Back in the day in school I was the chocolate milk Chug a Lug Champ. I beat ALL the boys. I only lost once (and I mean only once!!). The only reason I lost was it was like my 3rd or 4th challenge that lunch period. :sunny:

Terrible crash. Made the national news as well.

Right now they're saying that, but considering the condition of what's left of some of the cars, I do fear the worst. :(

Welcome Curt!

I hope I didn't jinx myself by putting the SSMC06 logo on my signature. I was just so excited when I saw it that I had to put it on.

Well the weather was blustery today and the drive home from work was absolutely awful (Diana can vouch for me on how bad it can get). Rather then gtting to my parents house at 5pm to pick up Nick we didn't get there to 5:30pm.
I hate people who can't seem to figure out how the drive on the highways, or they are in to much of a rush and cause a needles accident.
Ok I'm better now I vented.

On a lighter note, I got a phone call from a DVC friend of mine who was asking me about the last cruise and the upcoming cruise. I of course raved about the SSMC05 and told her about the Dis boards and emailed her a link to the threads so hopefully she will join the "crowd".
She will be in Disney on call in day and is slightly freaking about that.

Karen, whatever your going through, I hope it gets better. :goodvibes

Here's something to tell your DH from personal experience. It may not seem like it now, but my DH Garfield, very rarely posted before the cruise. Look at him now, he's posting almost as much as me. :cheer2:

Hardly my dear, I'm not even close :o.

I just read and ride the undulating wave of conversation :thewave: :thewave: :thewave:

We caught that on the news tonight.
Can you imagine being on I-95 today were they had that tanker fire and people were stuck on the highway. They said the fire burned away some of the pavement and they had to pave to get the traffic moving again.

Trust me Curt, it's no fun being a lurker - you just have to jump in with both feet :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

Someplace in my pc I have a picture of when a tanker lost it on the ramp from the Beeline to I-4 West. I never saw cement burn before. That ramp was closed for a while too to repair the damage. The picture looked VERY scary.

So when are all your MI people going to host a meet so we can come crash!

You guys are invited whenever you want to come!!!

Speaking of Michigan people, Gail good luck with the craft show this weekend. :goodvibes

Imagine how much time you'll have when it's over!! :cheer2:

The school is set up and crafters will start their set up on Friday. John and a few of the guys are still over there running lines so the crafters have electricity to their booths. Then they get to go all over the city putting up signs - that should be fun with the snow we have out there. It's a huge production and a ton of work, but we do have a lot of fun.

I am looking forward to Monday, so I can start to concentrate on getting ready for our cruise and our trip to WDW. :Pinkbounc

I think a Spring/Summer DISmeet in MI would be a cool. Of course we'll have to coordinate with Mary the driving Queen to make sure she's in town!

Edited to add -maybe I can have my scrapbook down by then. :)

Back in the early 70's, when I worked as a draftsman at WESCOM (a small electronics manufacturing firm) in Downers Grove, I earned the dubious title of ScarfMaster. There wasn't much (in the way of food) that I could not inhale :earseek:. A few times throughout my later years, I was called upon to defend my title. Even in my old age (51) I too remain undefeated :worried:. When we meet at check-in Stacy, don't let my boyish good looks  fool you - I'm nothing like any boy you've ever come up against
