Dallas Fort Worth area - where we don't normally get this cold or get ice - about every 2 - 3 years we do.

Aren't you glad you moved there recently!? :rotfl2:

OMG I got that Mickey Mouse ice cream, had 2 spoonfuls of it and :crazy2: I don't want to be gross, that stuff was nasty!!!

My favorite is also from Stewarts though...Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl. It has giant ribbons of peanut butter it it. Otherwise Rocky Road....especially the kind with the chocolate covered nuts in it!

Jeff agrees with you an the Mickey Mouse ice cream. Nick & I love it! :lovestruc :lovestruc

I just realized that your hint meant he was playing here in Schenectady! I didn't even realize that and we are donors to that theater.

Hey Stacy, he's playing Proctor's Monday night. I have DH's Christmas party in Saratoga that night. The real Saratoga, not SSR...I can only dream.

I have no idea who Jim Brickman is :confused3 and I did not see the show on PBS.

I'm glad you guys arrived safetly.

We have a bit of digging out to do here today. I have a yardstick that I put out in the yard in the winter, and so far we have 3 inches here and it's supposed to continue most of the day. :cold:

I just realized Emma doesn't have boots!! That's what sprung me out of bed so early. Bruce takes my the trailblazer (4wd) to work on snowy days and I'll be car-less with a boot-less child who has been begging to make a snowman every time she sees snow on TV!! BAD BAD MOMMY!!! I guess winter just snuck right up on me! I'm usually so prepared. :guilty:

I guess I'm a bad mommy too.
I don't have any boots yet this winter. My old one finally "died" last winter and I haven't gotten new boots yet. To make things worse my zipper pull just broke off my winter coat. Now I need boots and a jacket!

Hey guys, I got a call from my brother and my SIL's water broke and they are at the hospital now. (Sherman Hospital in Elgin, for Cindy) So, hopefully I'll know later today whether or not I have a new neice or nephew.

Yea!! What great news.
At work today we found out our unit supervisor had her baby girl last night.
Brianna Grace, 7lbs 1oz. This is awesome news, she was a high risk pregnancy and she had been trying on and off for a few years so alot of us who know her better know what wonderful news this is.
She had been out of work and on bed rest since May!

Good morning all! We had a unique night with very noisy neighbors. Just what we needed after getting in so late. But today is a new day and we are at Disneyland! How cool is that!

So glad you made it ok.
To bad for the delays and neighbors though.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Caleb Wade was born at 3:59pm CST. 6 lbs, 1 oz and 19" long

My side of the family is SO excited because we already have 5 girls (my 2 and my sister's 3), so this is the first little boy. He's going to be one spoiled little guy!!!

:cheer2:
CONRATS!!!
:cheer2:

That's great news. Hope everyone is doing fine and well wishes to the the new family!

This is a cut-and-paste, as we're about to go to dinner, longer stuff later on.

Ok, here's the MUCH longer story.

Yesterday, we got to O'hare long before the snow. And as we waited for our plane the conditions took a very poor turn. They stopped all landings at O'hare at 4-something. I wish they had done the same at Midway.

We got by as our plane was already on the ground before the snow came in at all. Approximately 2 hours late we do finally take off ok and have a smooth flight.

We arrive here pick up our car and arrive at the DL Hotel. Now it's about 11:00pm, our internal clock is still on midwest time at 1am. We get up to our room, unpack and the fun begins. First of all, the internet connection is across the room from the desk. Oh, fun. The rest of the room layout is a little odd, but we get settled for the night until oh, 1am local, when the people in the next room decide to start up a wild party. Ok, this goes on for a bit, Mary goes out and tries to talk to them, they pointedly ignore the door. Ok, pick up the phone to call security only to discover it's dead. totally. push the buttons that should light up, nada. Ok, go down to front desk and read them the riot act. OK, they'll send up security and someone to fix the phone. Security shows up and we can hear the overloud people saying "its security- should we answer it?" Duh, they're gonna open the door anyhow if you don't, dummies. So it does go quiet for a bit and we do doze off,but it does continue at a subdued rate, but when the choice is to get dressed and go down again at 2am or just try to sleep thru we decide to get this straightened up in the later morning. We are so tired now nothing short of a nuclear blast was going to wake us once we finally dozed off.

Needless to say we are now in a different room altogether, this room is perfectly fine. This day has gone much nicer, we have met up with two friends, Cheryl & Todd and had a fun am in the park. We'll write a real trip report on that someplace and link it tonight, after the fantasmic buffet.

Ok so people had to read about a page of posts just from me... so be it. This was the first chance I got to get on the boards today!

Mark & Mary - Sorry to hear about your unruly neighbors. I hope the rest of your trip goes much smoother!
Glad to hear Cheryl & Todd made it ok too and that you got to spent time together!

Congrats on the new addition to the family.
I love the name Caleb
Down in VA where my dad lives Wade is a very popular name.

While Im leary about internet shopping, ive bitten the bullet and now ordered Dh one more gift from the computer.
All he wants is stuff for the motorcycle :moped:

WOW
I didnt even notice I hit 1100 posts the other day.
Im exhausted.
My dog has decided that 1am is the time he wants to go out side and roll around on the grass and BARK!!!
Hes such a baby.
Im going to bed early tonight, so I'll probably miss chat.

Thanks for the congrats everyone!!! My family is SO excited!!!

The name Wade is actually a family name, so we're all glad that it was passed down. It's my brother's middle name too, so they will have the same middle name. I just loved hearing my brother tell me about his new little boy, because he was so happy that he was crying. My brother NEVER cries, so I knew that it was a life changing thing for him. It's their first child and probably their last. My SIL has a blood-disorder that required her to have to give herself shots into her abdomen twice a day throughout her entire pregnancy. So, she's not so sure that she wants to do it again.

You and me sweetums - I'll buy the first bowl. Your DH can get with my DW and get the minty stuff. Have you guys tried out "Cold Stone Creamery" yet? It is daBomb--- Sweet cream ice cream (made in the store) and then hand mixed with a chunk of Choc Chip Cookie dough while you watch (drool) :bounce:

We just got a Cold Stone last summer and it ROCKS!!! I LOVE their Breathless Boston Cream Pie ice cream. :faint: French Vanilla ice cream with yellow cake, fudge and whipped cream mixed in.....I think I need to go over there right now.
