I'm glad you guys arrived safetly.

We have a bit of digging out to do here today. I have a yardstick that I put out in the yard in the winter, and so far we have 3 inches here and it's supposed to continue most of the day. :cold:

I just realized Emma doesn't have boots!! That's what sprung me out of bed so early. Bruce takes my the trailblazer (4wd) to work on snowy days and I'll be car-less with a boot-less child who has been begging to make a snowman every time she sees snow on TV!! BAD BAD MOMMY!!! I guess winter just snuck right up on me! I'm usually so prepared. :guilty:
Oh no!!! Poor Emma, no snowmen today!!!

I'm glad to hear that Mark & Mary and Cheryl & Todd made it ok!!!

Well Thanks Guys! You sent the snow up here!LOL :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Bad Mommy Hint ~ You put her in her shoes, make sure she has thick socks on and then you take two plastic bags, put them on her feet and then wrap Duct Tape around the ankle area to keep the snow out! Instant Boots! Make sure the bags don't have holes! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: BTW, how do I know this, I have to do the same thing this morning! My zipper broke on my boots and have not bothered going out to get new ones! Gotta Luv Duct Tape!

Glad to hear Mark and Mary made it safely!

Have A Disney Day!

Thank Goodness I don't have to shovel this! :earseek: :earseek:
My mom used to do that when we were little.

Hey guys, I got a call from my brother and my SIL's water broke and they are at the hospital now. (Sherman Hospital in Elgin, for Cindy) So, hopefully I'll know later today whether or not I have a new neice or nephew.

Yeah!! Guess the baby didn't want all the hassles that come along with having a Christmas birthday! I could have given him/her some advice! :rotfl:

We do have PLENTY of duct tape.....Great Idea!! I'm sure she'll only last outside for 15 minutes anyway. See that's what this thread is all about, helping each other cover up bad parenting! :rotfl2: Thanks!!

I somehow missed Cheryl's post this morning when I replied to Marks....glad you guys made it ok too Cheryl and Todd! Have a wonderful trip!!

Mark, Mary, Cheryl & Todd glad you had a safe trip. Now go have some fun!!!!

Diana, I'll share the bad parent award with you. Deanna got her boots out from last winter - size 5 - she's now wearing a 6 1/2. I told her to wear my boots, but I guess that was the kiss of death, so she crammed her feet into her old boots. :confused3

We only got about 3-4" of snow. Of course Deanna was not happy when I woke her up and she found out they didn't get a snow day. Our school district usually doesn't close unless there's a good 6-8"+ of snow. Deanna's convinced, whoever goes out & checks the roads in the morning before calling off school, must drive a tank!

Gail, does your district build in snow days?

Ours doesn't. As appealing as it sounds to the kids and they hope & pray for snow days, any days off are made up at the end of the year. We get out on a Friday, to have to go 1 day on Monday for 2 hours just doesn't make sense. But, the district has to meet it's quota of days, and that's the only way to do it. So, as much as the kids hope there is no school, I hope the other way because I hate making up the day at the end of the year (because of course, Cameron is always gripping about it them  and forgetting about that snow day oh, so, long ago).

I guess with their hoping for a day off and me hoping for a day one, we are a wash when it comes to our wishes. ;) :rotfl2:

Good morning all! We had a unique night with very noisy neighbors. Just what we needed after getting in so late. But today is a new day and we are at Disneyland! How cool is that!

Kids have a snow day today. It's really not that bad here. We have 14 snow/bad\weather days built in to the year.So useing one won't hurt us. :cool1: :cool1:We never come close to useing that many.

Amy great news about the baby!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: (They need a blue bouncer for boys.I guess green will do.)

Mark, Mary, Cheryl and Todd - glad you all made it out to DL and can't wait to hear how the trip goes (sorry about M&Ms neighbors!)

Diana - maybe there is a contest this year for duct tape boots (like the prom attire) that you can enter! I say whatever works for 15 minutes of fun.

Kids here are back in school today after either starting late yesterday or not going at all. They are reporting RECORD sales at the mall yesterday :rotfl:

CRUISE COMMENT

14! I think we have 2 and after that they have to start making them up. It's very rare that they call off school in our district. Funny thing was, we haven't had to use many of the snow days - but last year there was talk of some big snow storm, got up in the morning got Deanna ready for school, her friend called to tell her that the school channel was saying no school. Looked outside and we had about 3" of snow - our subdivision streets had already been cleared :confused3 I guess someone decided they wanted to take advantage of some of those unused snow days. It really makes the kids mad when the school districts around us call off school and they don't. The city that the school is in is very efficient about getting/keeping their roads cleaned.

Wow, everyone must be out shoveling snow or finishing up the Christmas shopping. Found the thread WAY down the page. The rain has finally stopped here in NE Florida and the sun is trying to peek out. I think I have completed my Christmas shopping. Now if I can just get them wrapped and my Christmas cards done.

Have to get the house looking presentable and dinner cooked as we are celebrating my daughters birthday this evening (it is only a week late). But that was her fault since she was on a cruise last weekend. For some reason all my kids like meatloaf so it will be an easy dinner to fix.

Amy, any baby news yet?????

Carol :flower:

I'm stuck in my office! The office was officially closed at 3pm but no-one can get out of our office park so I'm staying here. Actually employees who left the office an hour ago are now coming back in because they weren't able to leave our parking lot. I can't believe how bad it is outside. I know I live in New England and this is kind of weather should be expected but this is ridiculous! Annmarie
