I guess I'm a bad mommy too.
I don't have any boots yet this winter. My old one finally "died" last winter and I haven't gotten new boots yet. To make things worse my zipper pull just broke off my winter coat. Now I need boots and a jacket!

Well, all's well here and $18 later, Emma is now the proud owner of Princess boots. The problem is she wont take them off her feet. She's got them on with her pjs and is fast asleep. I'm afraid to take them off for fear she'll awake and then I'll have her begging to go back out in the snow!!

Yikes! That's a very bad place to be stuck. I hope by now you're home or at least safely on your way. :goodvibes

I JUST got home! Can you imagine being stuck in the office? There were approximately 150 employees in the building. My office was closed at 3pm and those employees that left at 3pm didn't get out of the business park until 6pm. They recently built another building in the park and getting in and out was a problem during the summer. Now that winter is here I'm very concerned today is going to be the norm! Everyone who stayed in the office said they are going to call in sick if we are expecting a lot of snow.

I'm so happy to be home! The roads are terrible!

My side of the family is SO excited because we already have 5 girls (my 2 and my sister's 3), so this is the first little boy. He's going to be one spoiled little guy!!!

Congratulations! Do you think he'll be spoiled? All these girls around to take care of him! Oh boy!!!!

That's terrible. I'm glad you made it home safe.

So I'm going to have a repeat of last Saturdays call in frenzy tomorrow morning at 10 when I try to get Billy Joel tickets! :Pinkbounc I'm already a nervous wreck....practicing my ticketmaster.com skills! :rotfl2:

OK, not a very serious or life altering event but I can use some pixie dust!! :wizard:

Okay, I'm in chat with a bunch of strangers.

Is anyone coming to talk?

We arrive here pick up our car and arrive at the DL Hotel. Now it's about 11:00pm, our internal clock is still on midwest time at 1am. We get up to our room, unpack and the fun begins. First of all, the internet connection is across the room from the desk. Oh, fun. The rest of the room layout is a little odd, but we get settled for the night until oh, 1am local, when the people in the next room decide to start up a wild party. Ok, this goes on for a bit, Mary goes out and tries to talk to them, they pointedly ignore the door. Ok, pick up the phone to call security only to discover it's dead. totally. push the buttons that should light up, nada. Ok, go down to front desk and read them the riot act. OK, they'll send up security and someone to fix the phone. Security shows up and we can hear the overloud people saying "its security- should we answer it?" Duh, they're gonna open the door anyhow if you don't, dummies. So it does go quiet for a bit and we do doze off,but it does continue at a subdued rate, but when the choice is to get dressed and go down again at 2am or just try to sleep thru we decide to get this straightened up in the later morning. We are so tired now nothing short of a nuclear blast was going to wake us once we finally dozed off.

No working phone....that sounds familiar.

Glad you have a new room. Hopefully with quiet neighbors.

Ben & Jerry's is the best for that!!!
I know what you mean about adding the ice cream, I even had some cookie dough tonight (and I don't mean the ice cream......for those of you going yuck it was only a spoon full and it was sooooo good!)

The best is the Pillsbury cookie dough tube. Cut that end off and dig right in. Yeah, I know all about the raw dough, but that's my favorite way of eating chocolate chip cookies.

I'm sorry I missed chat. I was mopping the bathroom floor. I went to the chat room and you had left already ..... sorry I missed you!

Amy had good news today. I have bad news.

I've heard it say for every birth, there is a death. Tonight it's in my family.

My Mom sister, who the doctors told on Sunday she would have 6-10 weeks left, passed away early this evening.

I am very sad that my Mom didn't get to say goodbye. I planned to take her to see my aunt at the hospital last Wednesday night, but my aunt was released by then. I couldn't take her earlier in the week as I had prevous committments Monday & Tuesday. Since my Mom had a stroke 11 years ago, she hasn't been able to walk stairs and mostly gets around by way of a wheelchair. So, going to see my Aunt, who lived in an older style bungalow with a set of stairs to get inside, was not an option.

My cousin's son arranged for his Eagle Scout friend to come on Thursday night to help my Mom into my aunt's house. But, we had a snow storm here instead and there is no way my Mom could have been out in the snow we had last night.

We planned to get her there over the weekend. Now it's too late. My Mom did get to talk to her sister on the phone this afternoon, but I know this is going to be very hard on my Mom. As sisters, they had the bond I will never have with my own sisters.

It's just so unbelievable. I guess I have to think about how many years my aunt lived without any ailments. She had a long and healthy life up until the last couple of months. And, 2 sons she adored along with 2 DIL's she adored and a bunch of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren who will carry on what she instilled in all of them.

I know I will always have very fond memories of her.

:grouphug: Cindy, so very sorry to hear about the passing of your Aunt. :grouphug:

How sad, Cindy. I'm sorry for your loss. Thought and prayers are coming your family's way.

Sorry I missed you guys, I was doing the Christmas cards and making my weekend list of things we need to get done. Don't tell Bruce about the list...... :rolleyes1

Sorry for your families loss. :guilty:

Congratulations on the new nephew! :cool1:

I had an expensive day myself. Took my car to Les Schwab thinking I only needed rear brakes and maybe an alignment. Well, almost $1100 later I had front and rear brakes, 4 new tires and an alignment. Put it on their 90 days same as cash. Boy, I hope my Boss comes through with our usual Christmas Bonus (a little more would be good too ;) ). Now you all know what I got for Christmas!
