On a related note... I was cleaning out our old Gateway notebook and discovered a whole folder of pictures that we had noplace else!

I actually came across the pics from our 2003 cruise the other day. I think its great we have known you guys for that long already.

It's been 3 yrs since we met in person, almost 4 yrs since we started talking on the DIS. We've had alot of fun in those 3 years - 3 cruises, 2 weekend trips! I remember John and Steve being so excited about the Scrapbook Crop that was going on in the Hotel we were staying at in Grand Rapids that one weekend. Little did we know that Steve would really get into scrapbooking!

To request a DCL-DVC Member Cruise DVD or CD with photos on it, what type of DVD and CD should I send? Specifically, what format should both of these be in? CD+R, CD+RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, or something else?

And any recommended brands (Memorex, etc)?

(My laptop is too old to burn anything, so I am still relatively naive when it comes to any technology newer than 3.25 floppy discs!)

You can send your pictures to us on any format. I would suggest, if you have a DVD on your computer, to send DVD. I know that last year, we had a lot of pictures and we burned 1 DVD for everyone, except Mary who didn't have a DVD at the time and it was 6 CDs. Chris expects this year to be at least twice as many pictures, maybe more. So, it may be 2 DVDs of pictures (or 10-12 CDs).

Have not checked into flu shot yet. I know DH is going to call so asked him if he would check if I should get in line. Last year I did not get one due to shortage. Thankfully I didn't get sick. Here we have 88 y/o Mom living with us and DH who is bypass, j-pouch and hip replacement guy and I am over 55. So if I didn't need it last year...


Mary, I hope your grandbaby is feeling better. Such a cutie in that pic.

I'm having envy of all that will be meeting this weekend. Have a great visit everyone!

We will be there at 4:45 for dinner. I don't think we will make it to the mall. What is everyone doing after dinner? I thought I read something about the Holiday Inn but I really wasn't paying attention since I didn't think we could make it. Now I am really excited about Sat.

I'm guessing we are going back to the hotel after dinner. You are more than welcome to come back with us. Have the girls bring their swimsuits to swim. Or better yet, book a room and stay with us. I think there will be Mark & Mary, Cindy & Gary & boys, Chris & Mike and boys and Erin, Rich & Nick. John, Deanna and myself will be there too. Did I miss anyone else? If anyone else wants to stop by we will probably be hanging out by the pool, we can continue the meet there

Umm I remember 3 weekend trips Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and then this year when we came to Detroit. Unless I am confused.

And I did scrapbooking before that hotel stay I just didnt realize it was such a great way to hang with so many babes!

On a related note. How many who are going to be at the meet/dinner will be joining the circle journal for the first time? I think Gail, Mary, Karen, Erin, Chris, Ann Marie? Anyone else or did I name anyone who isn't doing the circle journal for the first time? Why you ask? Well I'm going to have a little raffle just for fun and the winner will get something to help them do their circle journal.

Not to beat a dead horse, and I'm gonna vent here instead of on the other threads around which are just bound to get ugly as time progesses. I was reviewing the cash prices for SSMC07, I'm not considering going, I'm just curious. On SSMC06 I paid $117 for Julia and $1008 for me cash and points for Bruce and Emma in a Cat 11. If we were to book SSMC07 cash price would be $1010 for me. OK $2, no big deal. And $177.95 for Julia. (Based on the idea that she'll be 2, which she won't but just for comparision) How can they charge an extra $60 for a kid under two from one year to the next? And don't tell me it's that cute new Mickey hat fountain area! Who is crunching those numbers because the cost increase ratio is WAY off!

I can tell you what you need to do differently without seeing it. You need to add the missing 10 years!!

Seriously, if I were you I'd start now and work backwards, it will be way easier for you to do it that way. Maybe doing a 2 page layout from each grade and then do supplemental pages in between for big things and special events?

I didn't even tell you about the other 3 that I haven't even started. I have the albums - I guess that's a start. Unfortunately they are 22, 21, 20 - that's alot of scrapping.

I have the CM albums. I guess I could still do the working backwards thing and hope for the best that I end up without a blank page. I know I'm sure I could find something to fill it if I had one. Maybe that's what I'll do - Thanks!

***Michigan Dis meet Dinner Update!***

Since we are up to 28 people.That's with Karen and Kurt included.(Just incase they can make it.)Carrabas asked if we could come at 4:45 instead of at 5:00PM.I said ok. If 5 PM is as early as you can get there that's fine.We will save you a seat.I'm sure 15 min. ,we will still be getting seated and looking at the menu.

Yep - We'll be there! Me, positively. Curt has gotten the okay to leave work at 2pm, barring any bad guy interruptions, so he'll make it for dinner, anyway. I'm not sure how late we'll be able to hang out at the hotel afterwards, though. Curt has to be at work at 6am on Sunday, and I have a client, a meet with a new client, and plans to meet my best friends Mom (who is dying of cancer...) on Sunday. Not much going on here!

(BTW - Don't let Curt see that you spelled his name with a "K"!)

Yeah - I guess I'm in officially! I even found the album that I want to use! I found an awesome scrapbooking store right around the corner from me. It's owned by sisters, and they spoke to us for an hour today without me buying a thing. The have a beginners class for $15... Chris? Mary? (I figured that Gail and Ann Marie wouldn't want to make the trek to Canton. ) We could have lots of fun together! I just need to send Amy a PM now.

And YAY! that Ann Marie and her crazy crew are coming to dinner! I just asked Curt about you guys on Wednesday night, and was sad when he said that you weren't coming. I'm sad no more!!!

Yep. Curt and I both get them every year. He has asthma, and I have a stupid pancreas. We also get the Pneumovax every five years.
