I thought we were going to have to bribe Cameron to be allowed to do it this year. For several years now, he hasn't wanted me at the bus stop or school on the first day. This year I had to convince him that although he didn't want or need me there, that maybe Walker would like his parents there for HIS first day of school.

Good luck, Deanna, on your first day of Jr high. pixiedust:

Stacy, isn't Nick starting today also? pixiedust:

Good luck to all the late starters. pixiedust:

Nick starts school tomorrow. Our school always starts the Wednesday after Labor day.

Jeff and I are leaving work early on friday to attend my unions annual picnic so we told Nick we would talk him out for dinner to celebrate going back to school. He wants to go tp Panera Bread so he can get one of those Crispani flat bread pizza's.

Janet - we got one on Wednesday afternoon. You can see it up on the Member Cruise site (just click on the Member cruise logo in my signature).

Here is what it said for day 4 (bolding by me).
Disney Music
Whether you prefer to wish upon a star or sing along to "Hakuna Matata," you'll love Day 4 of our journey, a celebration of classic Disney Music. Start your day on a high note by joining your friends and neighbors for a Member Group Photo on Castaway Cay. And at night, don't miss your chance to experience a one-of-a-kind musical performance that will honor beloved Disney songs from the past and present.

Thank You Mary and Mark for your site!

Without your site I would be totally lost!

Now back to packing and moving!

Inspired by Steve I thought I would show some of my scrapbook pages from SSMC05.

HEY THAT'S ME!!! On the bottom right in the tie-die Mickey Shirt holding Julia!! :cool1: I'm famous!! I made it into Mary's scrapbook!!

This actually reminds me of a very odd thing that happened to me at Epcot last week. We were walking around World Showcase and came across Koda and Kenai from Brother Bear in Canada. I hadn't ever seen them before so I stopped to take their picture. There was a huge line and I didn't actually want to be in the picture, so I whipped out the camera and opened the lens. With the crazy humidity it fogged up instantly, so I stood their trying my best to clear it without killing the camera. The CM helping Koda and Kenai says to me, in the LOUDEST and RUDEST voice possible.....DO NOT TAKE PICTURES OF OTHER PEOPLES CHILDREN. So, now every single person in the line stares at me--and the 9 million other people walking around WS stop in their tracks. Now surely, I can't be the only person who doesn't wait in the line to take pics of the characters and just snaps the pic when one kid is done and the other kid is being pushed by their parents to approach the character?? I don't want to make the line longer, when I don't want to be in the pic when I can just stop for a second, snap and go. Talk about embarrasing. Now every picture I took from that point on I thought--how in the world would it be possible to be at WDW and not get other peoples kids in your pictures?? :confused3 I've gone to Disney over 30 times and I've never been spoken to in that tone. And this was an older woman--not a college student who I would expect attitude from. Old enough to know I was cleaning the lens on my camera still and old enough to know that's not how you talk to people. :furious:

Your not the only "Famous Person" Diana!
Look my whole family made it into Mary's scrapbook (thanks to Mom and our matching polos)

I love your pages Mary. I'm in the home stretch in getting my book done from last years cruise. I vow to have it done BEFORE the next one!

Great pages Mary! I'm nearly done with Ian's first WDW trip album, but I can't seem to get motivated to do the journaling. :confused3

Diana,
I feel for you DisSister. After closing my mouth from the shock of being spoken to in such a manner, my first words - in no uncertain tone would be, "Manager, Now!" That CM would have had a very NON Disney moment in the most unpleasant manner that I could create. YOU & EVERY guest spend hundreds, if not over a thousand dollars every trip. As a DVC members you (and every nut here) have spent tens of thousands for Disney magic. The idea behind the CM is understandable, BUT the manner in which it is presented is as important as the idea. Cracking a letter off to Disney would NOT be out of line.

My 2 cents worth. YOU can call me a cheat ;), but NOBODY speaks to my DISfriends like that!

(Giving you an affection slug in the shoulder since you don't do hugs)

Hey, Diana, with the tie dye mickey tshirt. You didn't perhaps get the instructions for making the tshirt off the mouseforless (previously known as the disneydollarless site did you?) I'm the one who wrote the article/instructions for them way back when! I have a red, white and blue one that I still wear and get compliments on. I like the colors you used.

I also took a pic of the car magnet "in action". For everyone driving, this about what is will look like. I printed it on Legal sized (8.5x14) paper and ran it through my xyron with magnetic/laminating refill then trimmed it down. If you print it on magnet sheets it will come out a bit smaller.

Robin - It looks great!!!!!!

Hey everyone! This is going to be my last post before I leave for Phoenix in the morning. I have to be up at 4am, and I'm still not packed yet, so I need to get moving. Anyway, I won't be home until Sunday night around 7:30pm, so if I'm lucky and the flight isn't delayed, I just might be able to make it home by 9pm for DVC chat. We'll see!!

Have a great rest of the week, everyone, and a fantastic weekend!!! I know that I will!!!

I LOVE THESE!!! I saved all of them from last year :) in a word doc and looked at it often before we cruised. Thanks MARY

I also found them to be a wealth of information -- especially as a first time cruiser. I'm sure there will be info in them this year that I've forgotten about or missed the first time around. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Mary.

Heck of a rollercoaster ride today...glad it's over. I had applied for a position as a hospital lactation consultant and was offered the job at about twice what I currently make. I was going to keep 20 hrs at my current job and supplement with 32 hrs at the new job. That would have been alot of hours but they were pretty good hours only one day would have been 12hrs.
Anyway, human resources calls me today after I said I would accept the job and tells me I need to come and get a physical and they need my immunization record. I called my doctor...no record of immunizations. Then Then they said the job requires lifting. Well I just had a ruptured disk and stupidly said so :confused3 And now they say I have to get a doctors release saying I can lift. I don't think my doctors will say that so I've probably lost the chance at being financially stable :-( Darn it!

Ilene, it certainly wouldn't hurt to talk to your doctor. I'm wondering if you explain the job to him/her, if the doctor would give you the release that you need. After all, I can't imagine there is much lifting truly involved --- what could you be lifting other than a baby here and there. As newborns, most don't weigh that much -- maybe an occassional bigger baby but I would think most are about 8-9 pounds.

I hope it works out for you pixiedust:

Awe, Mary, I'm honored to have made your book.

However, maybe we should think about replacing that picture with one where my mouth is closed?

Better yet, maybe you could just photo shop it closed? ;)
