Flying out on Wednesday to go to California for 2 weeks! :yay: With the way the weather was today, my old bones will definitely appreciate a visit out that way.
Going to stay at GC at DL on points after Labor Day and will do some sites - hope to get down to my uncle's place in the desert. I will most likely miss chat til the 15th - with the time difference, I'm sure I'll be busy.

Good thoughts and pixie dust going out to all who need them -
Have a great - and safe - trip Mary. I'd love to go back to DL, but it's only been a few years since I was last there. David took me for my 40th. And better yet, my sister flew down from SF to spend a day with us.

Karen, I guess I won't be able to see if the magnets on your door end up turned upside down this cruise. Did it happen on the double scoop cruise to you again?

A thought just crossed my mind - do you think it's possible that it was Karen who moved all the magnets you made for others to my door ;)

Ok, I found a picture of our door from last year!

Thanks for posting this pic Amy. I was having a difficult time picturing what everyone's been talking about.

It's called Bayside - kind of a deep teal. It came out really neat looking with the trim and doors white.

The color the kids bath is being painted is - are you ready for this......creme brulee! Not the brown crusty top, the creamy color. The shower curtain has a beach scene on it, the tissue box looks like a cooler and the curtain hooks are flip flops. After the walls dry (probably next week sometime) we are going to stamp and paint flip flops on the walls.

Now I have to come up with a color for my new craft room! I spent months picking out a golden color from my craft room and switched the color to the Bayside while at Home Depot.
Sounds like lots around here are doing "remodeling". I still have to pick out colors for our addition. It gives me a headache just thinking about it though.

Whew. Good to know. :)
knock on wood, we've never had a fire. That's one of my fears though.....to come home from a trip and find the house burnt down. I don't obsess about it, but everytime I turn onto the cross street near my house all of a sudden I think "I hope the house didn't burn down."

I remember we talked about this last year, but that's one of my fears as well. When I leave for vacation, I totally clean the entire house, for fear that there will be a fire and the firefighters will come in and see that I've left a mess. Like somehow, in the ashes, they'll find dust. I realize that's the dumbest thing ever, but it's something I do. And I turn the corner every time we get home and expect to find the house gone. :confused3

I should take a picture of the mess the hall and the rooms are in now. I don't think my dd will ever get all her stuff in the smaller room - but she's determined. Guess she will have to toss some of the junk out. She had dance costumes in her closet and she hasn't taken dance in 6 years. She graduated 3 years ago and she still had her graduation gown in there :confused3
Sounds like me. I had ALL my dance costumes in my closet for years after I quit taking lessons. It wasn't until we were clearing out the house after my father passed away that I finally got rid of most of them. For posterity's sake, I kept a few. (Came back to haunt me at our rehearsal dinner though.)

You do. As Mike can never remember your real name, much less your screen name, you are referred to around here as "the lady in the elevator who didn't have tip money and borrowed it from us." :lmao: :lmao: It works....then he knows EXACTLY who I'm talking about.

Not that I talk about you a lot. :lmao:

COOL....a U TOP with Mike and "the lady in the elevator who didn't have tip money and borrowed it from us." :rotfl2:

See, you never know when another DISer will come to your aid.

Oh, I forgot to tell you. A while back you gave me a piece of advice to pass on to my oldest dd. She took it and decided to apply for PA school.

That's funny because in our house, she's "the lady who screamed something about my lime green crocs across the giant crowd at MGM on the way to the Stunt Show and made everyone look". :rotfl2:

Oh, trust me, you should see my mess!! And, the funny part is that I moved the ENTIRE mess from the office/scrapbook room to the dining room. But, I'm determined to get it out of my dining room and back into my new, clean, organized office (well, at least MY side of the office).;)
How's the organizing going? I'm both anticipating and dreading the completion of my new scrapbooking room. I have so much stuff that I fear I'll just move my mess from one place to another instead of really getting everything put away into a proper place.

I found it helps to go to Home Depot pick up all those paint chips come home and hang them on the wall. Through out the day and evening when I see one that I just don't like it gets taken down. The last one on the wall is the color I pick.

Ok, it didn't happen that way with the last room - I put all these yellow gold, orange gold color chips up, looked at them for weeks. I came up with my last one standing, went to Home Depot and came home with the teal color :rotfl:

Congratulations to Robin on post #14,000

Congratulations to Annmarie on reply #14,000

Yeah, Mary!! :cheer2: Stick with the weights and it will stop hurting. When I first started taking this weight class I do, I thought I was never going to move my arms again. We did a lot of chest work laying down on our backs with 25 lbs of weight. By the time I got home, I couldn't even lift my arms up over my head to take off my shirt. But now my muscles are used to the weight and it's my favorite class because I don't have to run or get out of breath! :lmao:
Diana, you rock! David just joined the Y last week. The trainer he'd been working with for years - probably 15 or so - decided to retire so no door-to-door service anymore. But the Y is literally across the street from our house so I'm going to start going over there a few times a week. You are my inspiration!!!!

Well it looks like I made some great first impressions :rotfl2:

OK. Here's my mini trip report!

...

It was a fun trip, I missed the girls a lot but was thankful for the time I could just walk around and not have to go commando and try to see everything. It was so much fun being able to look at the little things for a change, but I found myself saying, I'll be back in less than 8 weeks, so I don't have to rush!! :cool1:
Sounds like a wonderful trip to WDW. You got so much done in those few short days, but it sounded relaxing too.

This is the box I made in the class I took. It's really no where near complete because there's a lot more embellishing to do and even more after I add pictures. It's made of 4 pieces of 12x12 paper and has enought room to put 48 pictures! There's pockets for tags and things and flaps for journaling. It is the coolest thing!!

Great project.

Way to go Robin and Annmarie on post and reply 14,000 :Pinkbounc

Go David! :cheer2:

I'm afraid that since I seem to be the fitness inspiration of the thread, every time you guys see me lying around on the cruise you're going to think I'm a lazy big fat liar! :lmao: And I'm still far from thin, so I hope you guys aren't super disappointed when you see me. :worried: I have 12 lbs to reach my initial goal that I set in Jan for the year and I'm not going to make it before the cruise. I did lose another pound while at Disney. It was probably the heat and all the sweating I did, or maybe it was the Beaches and Cream diet I was on!
