Phew!!! I'm all caught up now!!

Mary - Have a wonderful trip. Someday we will make it to DL!

Cheryl - Hope everything turns out ok.

Chris - Glad to hear your surgery turned out ok. Hope all goes well with the doctor.

Gail - Smart move! It's all about the closet space!!!! The bathroom sounds like it's going to be awesome. We have a beach theme bathroom too. I was inspired after goung to Cape Cod for friends wedding and staying in a bungalo by the beach. We sponged the walss with the top left on color and I stenciled a seashell border around the whole bath. We have a seperate shower and tub so no shower curtain bit I found tiles with a shell print which had teal frames and on one wall where I had a big open spot I found what looks like a 4 pane window with shutters that makes it look like you are looking out the window to the beach with a lighthouse in the background. I also have other knicknacks around like a couple of mason jars with shells in them.

Deena - That crop folder is very cool! I might have to check into that!

Diana - Great trip report! B&C 3x's! I love the stickers for your car and I have to come to the house and see that disney box in person! It's wild!

Ok here it goes!
Favorite pig out food: I love food in general so if there is enough of one item in the house that would be it
Nickname: Spacey
Favorite Childhood memory:Since we lived in Yonkers NY when I was younger there wasn't alot of grass around so we would go to Westchester Community College on the weekends in the summer to ride our bikes and skateboards and just walk around. That and they used to close one of the roadways in Yonkers on Saturdays I think it was so that you could ride you bikes.
Personal heroes:My parents
I've never been able to:Tie a knot in a cherry stem with my tongue. I just think that's cool!
If I could do it over,I'd: Wouldn't change a thing
I'd give anything to meet (& why): My grandfather (my mom's dad) He dided exactly 3 years to the day before I was born. He owned a pizza parlor in Yonkers which I always thought was cool.
If I could change one thing about myself: Currently my weight
People who knew me in High School thought I was: in general pretty cool
My most irrational act: Oh so hard to pick just one. Must be that Italian and Irish in me.But I think some would say getting engaged to Jeff just 2 month's after our first date. But things obviously turned out well.
If I've learned one thing in life it's: Live life to the fullest!
Major accomplishment: Probably not going totally nuts when I had all my medical problems and taking all the drugs. It was a bit stressful at times
The three words that best describe me: Open, easygoing, fun

Mary - I almost put that as mine. When we weren't at the pool we were playing kick the kan in the alleys around my neighborhood. :)

I used to love playing kick the can!! They just don't play fun games like that anymore with the invention of things like Xbox 360. We should all get together after the DIS meet for a quick game. I bet we'd get some strange looks. :rotfl2:

If that's irrational I hope there are always ppl around who will think irrationally!! :) THANKS for doing what you do!!

Dh and I were discussing our fire dept the other day.....it's a volunteer one. We always see the guys fly down our side street on their way to the house to get the truck/their gear/etc....

And we decided wouldn't it be horrible for them to fly by our house while it's BURNING and not be able to stop cuz they don't have their stuff. :earseek:

Well irrational to the point of everyone else is supposed to be LEAVING a burning building while we get to go in!

As for driving by on the way to the station, I dont get to do that anymore. I have to stop and set up command so everyone can be more prepared when they get there.

SQuid

Wow, you guys have been chatty the last few days.

Unixadm - Nice Car!

Tina - Thanks for taking on the KK run. We all know how much Curt needs his donut fix. ::cop:

Julie - The wedding invitations and gowns look grand, very elegant.

Ann Marie, Karen - Great discussion about the home schooling.

Those in Ernesto's path - PD and prayers that it won't be as bad as predicted.

HAPPY Belated BIRTHDAY EMMA!!!

Diana - Hope you had a great trip, I'm sorry I missed you at the Member Block Party Thursday night. I know what you mean about free dining. Great trip report and cool box!

Ilene - Sorry you had so much trouble at Pop Century.

Georgie - Sorry about your van, Congrats on the new minivan!

David - Sorry about your co-worker - Prayers and PD for him and his family.

Cindy - Sorry about your mother. Like Roxann said, it could be acid reflux. Prayers and PD.

Cheryl - Best of luck with your tests.

Chris - Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Mary - Have a great trip! Your muscles will recover after the 1st couple workouts.

Other Ann Marie - Hope you are feeling better soon. I believe Mrs. Lips was who had Fish extenders for sale on ebay. And I agree consuming alcohol :drinking1 is better than soaking in it. :teeth:

Deena - Great to have you on the party bus! Don't worry about you 1st cruise. This group will help you out. Last year was my first and by the second day I knew my way around the ship.

Favorite pig out food: Baked Ham.
Nickname: Slank, The Skipper, too many others to list/remember
Favorite Childhood memory: Family vacations to WDW.
Personal heroes: Bill Graham (rock impresario, not evangelist)
I've never been able to: dive into water without holding my nose.
If I could do it over,I'd: Majored in communications and become a sports broadcaster and minored in computers because more than half of the people in IT came from other backgrounds anyway, might as well do something I really enjoy.
I'd give anything to meet (& why): Bill Graham or Jerry Garcia but both are deceased. I respected how Bill carried himself through his organization and charity work and Jerry was supposed to be the nicest guy you would ever meet. Family wise – my grandfather since he died about 2 years before I was born and I heard so much about him from all of my family.
If I could change one thing about myself: Have darker skin so I wouldn’t have to watch my sunburn and have (pre)skin cancer surgeries every couple years.
People who knew me in High School thought I was: what the jocks called a “band f@g”, otherwise studious/weird – I didn’t go by the latest clicks.
My most irrational act: Hard to classify as most of what I do is irrational, LOL. Probably getting knocked out of a one table poker tournament by my dad on the first hand. I played it very irrationally and deserved to lose.
If I've learned one thing in life it's: The tongue weighs not much more than 1 pound, but it’s so hard for some to hold it. (Wish I could sometimes.)
Major accomplishment: Graduating college in 4 years, most of my friends took at least 5. Also, the first in my immediate family to graduate college.
The three words that best describe me: fun, family and direct

Whoah! Long day around here and I have pages and pages to catch up on. :faint: That doesn't usually happen to me. ;)
Best of luck with your testing, Cheryl. pixiedust:
Glad your on the mend from your recent surgery, Chris! pixiedust:
Mary, safe travels to Disneyland -- we'll get there one of these days. Enjoy your trip!

Gail, with a craft room now, does that mean your going to take up scrapbooking? Wait until you see the circle journals from the last cruise, maybe that will inspire you to join us for this one.

MaryJ, did you take care of that alcohol yet? :drinking:

Diana, it sounds like you had fun. One of these days I'd like to do a trip without my kids just to see the World a little differently. It sounds like you had a chance to do just that. I'm sure your tired, trying to catch up from everything. And, that box is awesome!!

GTKYFKK Questions:

Favorite pig out food: Cape Cod Potato Chips
Nickname: Cindy is a nickname of my real name so I'll leave it at that ;)

Favorite Childhood memory: So many to pick from. Prior to my dad's death, our family was very different and we had a lot of family times I could pick from. Sometimes I wonder where those days went and how we all strayed so far apart from each other.

Personal heroes: My Dad
I've never been able to: Sing or play any instruments
If I could do it over,I'd: go to college as it was planned except my Dad's unexpected death changed the course of my life
I'd give anything to meet (& why): Any of my grandparents --- all 4 died years before I was born. I wonder sometimes if because I never had any if I will know how to be one myself.

If I could change one thing about myself: My quick temper
People who knew me in High School thought I was: going to marry my high school sweatheart -- I broke up with him at the end of junior year

My most irrational act: Gosh, chasing an old boyfriend around town with my girlfriends in a guy friends hot rod car. I'm usually pretty level headed but did not use good judgement in that situation.

If I've learned one thing in life it's: karma -- treat others as you want to be treated because if not, it's going to bite you.
Major accomplishment: My two kids. They are the center of my life. It was difficult for me to have both of them both getting pregnant, staying pregnant, delivering them as well as the post-delivery period. But. I wouldn't trade it for the world and the pride I have for them is very immense.
The three words that best describe me: loyal, stubborn, content

Georgie, I had no idea you are a breast cancer survivor. You and Mary sure have gone through a lot with cancer. Sometimes I feel like we take our health for grantite.

We played kick the can on hot summer nights when I was in 7th & 8th grade. Just about the age Cameron is now, and I can't imagine him out after dark in today's day and age. Times certainly have changed.

I learned something new today from this thread. I never thought about how much my tongue weighed! Thanks, Jeff, for pointing that out. :rotfl: I think I'll quiz my hot-shot son with that one. :rotfl:

My Mom is still in the hospital, they are still not ruling out that she had a heart attack. They are doing a stress test tomorrow before moving onto other areas as a possible cause. When I talk to her, she tells me what a lovely hospital she's in, how they are treating her so well and that I'd love the view from her room (not!). She's in a hospital way south of here -- so I could go, but it would take me some time to get there and I'm not at all familiar with the area. As long as she's sounding positive on the phone and we truly know nothing new, I'm better off avoiding the hospital as my mom and I don't always see eye to eye and I don't want to add any more stress to her right now. Thanks for all the good wishes!! :thanks:

Count me in!!! :thumbsup2

Favorite pig out food: ice cream
Nickname: none
Favorite Childhood memory: can't recall one, maybe riding a horse in a show
Personal heroes: the Dalai Lama, the founders of La Leche League
I've never been able to: keep weight off
If I could do it over,I'd: not do anything different!
I'd give anything to meet (& why): no one I admire that way
If I could change one thing about myself: I would be less insecure
People who knew me in High School thought I was: smart
My most irrational act: buying DVC?
If I've learned one thing in life it's: it's a hard road with many joys and sorrows

The three words that best describe me: creative, perfectionistic (or is that compulsive), competitive

Let's see if this shows up. I saw Amy posted her door, here's a picture of ours. I agree with the others who posted about the surprise magnets. They were so cool to come back to find on our doors. We also had the magnet mixer-upper who swapped a couple of magnets from door to door. Why & how, I still have no idea, but some of the ones I put on other peoples doors mysteriously walked to other friends doors.

I have so many problems with photobucket. I was really frustrated trying to figure it out -- usually I can post pictures no problem (remember when I learned on the SSMC05 thread  :teeth: ) but it's just not working for me no matter what I tried. So, this is dot photo, sorry Julie.

Karen, I guess I won't be able to see if the magnets on your door end up turned upside down this cruise. Did it happen on the double scoop cruise to you again?

Julie - Your invitations are beautiful and I love the choice of bridesmaid dress. I can just picture what your dress must look like and can't wait to see some pictures here after your wedding!

Cindy - Sure hope your mother is feeling better soon and that it is nothing really serious.

Cheryl - I hope all your tests give you some peace of mind and help you figure out how to help yourself. It's just awful when your not feeling well.

Diana - I wonder if we were at the same members night at PI. Was it this past week? I was there with DH and DD. It was more fun than I expected and the visors and pirate hats were nice. I got a rose tatoo (fake of course) and a mickey luggage tag in the trivia game. I ate the cotton candy the next day and it was yummy, hadn't had any for many many years. I'll have to go back and check out the box everyone is talking about, seems I have missed it.

It seems we have some newer posters on the thread so I thought I'd post the dining information again, so here goes.

Keep in mind, the deadline is approaching!!

Attention Cruisers:

Favorite pig out food: This is going to sound strange but I LOVE veggies at Thanksgiving. I could skip the turkey and just eat the veggies - mashed potatoes (no gravy), peas, corn, cranberry sauce, apple sauce, etc.

Nickname: Don't have one but I hate being called Annie and the only person who calls me Ann is Tom. Then again he does call me a nickname sometimes but I can't put it here because it contains a bad word!

Favorite Childhood memory: taking long walks along the beach no matter what the weather was like (I lived 4 houses from the ocean). It was my sanctuary when I was growing up!

Personal heroes: My father - I wish he were still alive!

I've never been able to: keep weight off

If I could do it over, I'd: would've moved to Florida after I got married.

I'd give anything to meet (& why): Oprah Winfrey because of what she has accomplished

If I could change one thing about myself: Being too serious

People who knew me in High School thought I was: quiet

My most irrational act: I'm not spontaneous but Tuesday before Memorial Weekend one year I decided we were going to FL on Thursday for the long weekend.

If I've learned one thing in life it's: I could never rely on my mother or siblings

Major accomplishment: Going back to college

The three words that best describe me: Independent, Happy, Unorganized (I'm a pack rat!)

Getting caught up again...

Along those same lines, if anyone has any more prayers, I received a call this afternoon from one of my sisters saying that my Mom was taken into the emergency room this morning.
pixiedust: Sending prayers that your mother doesn't have anything too serious.

Favorite pig out food: Use to be Chocolate, but now I'm stuck on those Hooter Wings - thanks Steve

Nickname: Don't have one that I know of.

Favorite Childhood memory: Family vacations

Personal heroes: My parents and my husband!

I've never been able to: Whistle

If I could do it over, I'd: finished my college education

If I could change one thing about myself: Being very impatient

People who knew me in High School thought I was: loud, crazy and yes, probably a bit obnoxious

My most irrational act: While driving to see a Detroit Lions game, I talked John into going to Florida, so we left the next morning!

If I've learned one thing in life it's: not to get upset at what I can't change

Major accomplishment: Raising 4 kids who are independent, caring and generally overall good kids.

The three words that best describe me: Independent, organized, lazy

Just this same reason is why I've learned to participate in my kids activities, but keep it at an arms length when it comes to volunteering.
I volunteered to be room parent for Ian's class. We have our first meeting tomorrow after the Parent Association meeting. I'm just wondering if it's for Ian's class or several classes because the email was only addressed to 5 parents. But there are about 20 classes total in the school. (I'm hoping separate emails were sent out for each age group. Guess I'll find out in the morning.)

Whew. Good to know. :)
knock on wood, we've never had a fire. That's one of my fears though.....to come home from a trip and find the house burnt down. I don't obsess about it, but everytime I turn onto the cross street near my house all of a sudden I think "I hope the house didn't burn down."

I went to a Digestive Disease consultant today.

I have a perscription for Levsin sl
but I have to wait to hear back from my eye doctor if I can use it.

As long as my insurance approves-
On Friday I go for more testing:
I have Ultrasounds of my Gall Bladder, Liver and Pancreas.

And then I need to go to a lab for a bunch of stuff done.

Cheryl, I hope you get everything figured out. It's no fun not feeling 100%. pixiedust: to you, too.

I started scrapbooking a long time ago, but when we moved into this house 6 yrs ago the stuff never came out of the boxes. Guaranteed, I'm not any more creative today than I was then :teeth: I am looking forward to seeing all of the CJ's - maybe they will inspire me!

I'm thinking of putting my computer up there too. John wants to know if I want a fridge - that way I would never have a need to come downstairs!

Hi everyone, I've been out for a while too. I had surgery last Tuesday but am well on my way to recovery now. I go back to the Dr. tomorrow, I think I will feel even better after that. I've been trying to catch up on all the posts for days now.

Could you tell me if the pirate costumes are just your Halloween choice or if there is a pirate event that I need to know about? Also, since this is our first cruise, what is the deal with the door decorations? Thanks

Chris
Chris, pixidust: for your continued recovery. We need you good and healthy in less than 8 weeks. For that matter, we need EVERYONE HEALTHY!!!!

You do. As Mike can never remember your real name, much less your screen name, you are referred to around here as "the lady in the elevator who didn't have tip money and borrowed it from us." :lmao: :lmao: It works....then he knows EXACTLY who I'm talking about.

Not that I talk about you a lot. :lmao:

COOL....a U TOP with Mike and "the lady in the elevator who didn't have tip money and borrowed it from us." :rotfl2:
