2006 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC06 - October 22, 2006 Part 4

I've been following the Krispy Kreme bus saga from afar. After discussing it with my sister she has volunteered to do the doughnut run if the bus is really interested. We will have a rental car to get us from Port Orleans to BCV for the bus pick up. Janet will go to KK on the way from PO, drop us and the luggage and KK off and then go to return the car at the Dolphin. If everyone wants them just let us now how many dozen to get and if you want certain varieties.

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day

Does anyone remember this from staying onsite? There used to be a channel called the tip of the day. Last year I counted down the last 30 days of the cruise by posting one a day. At the request of a few 2005 cruisers I'll be repeating this count down this year. Here's one for today and then I'll do the rest starting at the 30 day mark.

Cruising with fellow DISers really adds to the cruise experience. I can honestly say that I've made some wonderful friendships out of cruising. So how do you know who is a DISer? By wearing a SSMC06 cruise button! How do you get one? By dropping me a line (if you haven't already done so) and adding your families info on to the cruise website and telling me you want them? Simple huh? Deadline for buttons/navigator is October 1st (which is why I'm doing this tip of the day so early).

If you haven't already done so I reall encourage everyone to get involved in the meets thread during these last 7 weeks. Sure there is a lot of fluff, but that is all of us just getting to know each other. In between there is great talk about the cruise (now that some info has come out about it) as well as some very helpful information - like Roxann organizing the party bus.

So let's make the next 7 weeks a celebration of what promises to be a fantastic cruise!

PS - some asked last year if I had saved the tips of the day so they could download them. Well I didn't last year but I have them all saved this year. I'll be formatting them and around the 30 day mark will put them up on the site.

Thanks Rose! Lord knows I don't need any KK's but if the bus is getting them put us down for one each. :)

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day

I remember him. The guy in the yellow shirt that would pop in and out telling you what to do that day and how to save time in the parks etc. He was all over the tube back in '97 when we were there.

Flight Schedule change.....................

I hate when they do this usually we have to readjust OUR schedule to fit theirs.

BUT NOT THIS TIME :cool1:

Well we do kind of have to but it wont be a bad thing. We are on an EARLIER flight down and a LATER flight home so that means MORE time in FLa.

Wahooooooo!

Thanks for the offer Rose but I don't eat donuts and Tom said he'll save his appetite for the cruise!

Squid - this is one time when an airline change works in your favor. That doesn't happen often.

I'd love to see a pic of your altered fish extender!
Here ya go Diana. I just added a little color with paint and stamps. I happened to have some beach themed stamps (sea shells, beach ball, seahorse, star fish, umbrella, & fish) I've never used and thought this was a good opportunity. And to get rid of even more of the pink I added color to some of the trim. I have ideas for more but figured I'd better quit while I was ahead.

I also took a pic of the car magnet "in action". For everyone driving, this about what is will look like. I printed it on Legal sized (8.5x14) paper and ran it through my xyron with magnetic/laminating refill then trimmed it down. If you print it on magnet sheets it will come out a bit smaller.

I bet you're not the only one.

I wish I had them last night.

Do you think anyone would have stopped me from doing a quick cut? I'd probably have 1/2 of the crowd cheering me on.

Very cute & unique.

Don't forget to attach it to your fish with one of those twist tie thingys so that it doesn't "swim" away. :(

A little after 3:30 and I'm beat.

Cameron & I did the clean up at 7 a.m. through one of the neighborhoods. Lot's of garbage left around after people vacated.

I helped with the pop tent for Cub Scouts from 9-2. Walker joined me from 11-2. It's nice and warm here, which means lots of sales. My feet are sore, my legs are sore and my back is sore. Those cases of pop and water along with the ice are really heavy.

We got home and planned to go see my Mom, however, in about another 20 minutes she's being transported back to the nursing home. By the time she gets there and settled in, it's probably going to be to late to head out there today. I take it as a good sign that she's being released. I'll call later this evening.

I think I'm going to try and take a nap. Another early morning on the horizon tomorrow.

Bless you Cindy - I took a nap today and didn't really do anything else except some online work. I'm happy you guys had lots of sales, but sorry you are now so beat. Get some rest!

Wow Cindy!! You make me tired!!! I'm glad that things went well, go get some rest! Will we see you in chat tonight?

I'm going to try to be there, while I work on some more projects here at home. I can't believe that I leave in just 3 days and I have SO much to do!!!

Thanks. Good point, I'll have to make sure our supply of tie wraps in the suitcase is restocked before we leave.

That's great. I wish we had the same luck.
To get the $59 flight down on Saturday the 21st we don't get in unti 2:15pm so we might be a few minutes late for the pre-cruise meet at BCV.
For the cheep rate home we leave at 11:15am fro MCO. I'm slightly bummed about that but Nick will have school the next day so it may be for the best.

Wow Cindy. I need a nap now. I'm glad to hear your mom is on her way home. pixiedust:

I need an

button. You know, like the ones they show on the Staples commercials (if you have Staples in your area.) Mine would be for emptying the dishwasher and folding the laundry. There's got to be a better way to get those things done!

There is....teach your kids to do it! :) Besides missing them just being around, that's the worst part of when the kids go to grandma and grandpa's for a week. In the morning I stand there and say "WHAT? I have to empty the dishwasher??" "WHAT? I have to feed the cats???" :lmao:
