There is....teach your kids to do it! :) Besides missing them just being around, that's the worst part of when the kids go to grandma and grandpa's for a week. In the morning I stand there and say "WHAT? I have to empty the dishwasher??" "WHAT? I have to feed the cats???" :lmao:
I'm not sure, at 20 months, Ian is old enough for that responsibility yet. I don't think CPS would appreciate a him carrying around glasses and steak knives.

"Really sir, he was just emptying the dishwasher. He didn't mean to drop that scary big knife on my toe."

Man what a day. Busy busy busy at the FD today, after work I waxed the Avalanche and then when I finally got home mowed two lawns and then had dinner! I hope you all had good weekends Yak at ya tomorrow.

Mary and Cindy - Sounds like you all had fun last night:goodvibes

Cindy-Sorry to hear about your Mom. Ulcers sound pretty painful especially when eating and drinking. Prayers for your Mom's recovery.

Fun day out on the boat and BBQ with the folks. DD gave us a scare:scared1: She lost her footing and fell head first off of the boat dock. She was at the shallow end and I was so thankful she only had some scraps and bruises. I was thinking broken neck as I ran and jumped into the water. YIKES! Scared her too! A few bandaids later she is fine.

Rose - Thanks for the KK drive by offer. I'll let you know!:thumbsup2

Morning all.

Yuck, it's raining outside. :umbrella: :umbrella: :umbrella: That garbage we're picking up in about 45 minutes is going to be a bit soggy. Good thing we are experienced WDW park visitors in the rain, as I will be wearing my Mickey poncho. ::MickeyMo

Roxann, I'm glad your daughters okay. That would have given me a fright as well.

Steve, I hope today is quieter, are you working today again?

Robin, good plan on holding off on having Ian do some chore. At least until he's 2. ;) Actually, Walker's favorite job is to empty the garbage out of the bathroom garbage. He's been doing it since he was about 2. In the beginnning he needed some help with opening the new plastic bag, but now, at 6, he's a pro.

Have a great day, everyone. I hope the rain around here moves out quickly so the kids walking in the parade aren't soaked. pixiedust: And, the garbage left behind isn't soggy as Cameron & I will be back out there picking that up afterwards. :scared:

Robin your comment about Ian and the dishes reminded me of a pic our daughter took of our 1 y/o grandaughter STANDING on the open door of the dishwasher to reach for something. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ok, so it isn't just MY kid that does that. Madison just LOVES to stand on the dishwasher door when it's open to get into the dishwasher. Urggg!!!

Looks like it may rain a while here so I may be staying in after feeding the dog and picking veggies (mosquitos dont fly too much when its raining) I may thaw some ribs for on the grill later. Have a GREAT Labor day everyone.

Good morning everyone!! Happy Labor Day!!! I'll be laboring all day trying to get all of these scrapbook projects done before I leave EARLY Wednesday morning.

Happy Labor Day!!

Roxann--I'm so happy to hear your daughter is ok. That must have been so scary for you.

It's cold and dreary here today, it's not supposed to even get to 70. :sad2: We're going up to Six Flags with the girls with long pants and coats on. Something is just not right with that!!

I saw on the news this morning that Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter was killed this morning by a stingray. What a sad and tragic story. Now can someone reassure me that the stingrays on CC aren't going to kill me?? :scared:

Roxann glad to hear that Kiele is Ok. That had to be so scary. :scared1:

We finally have sun here but it is still cold. I hope it warms up and I finally close the pool.

Hope everyone has a great holiday. Nothing going on here except work outside. It has rained everyday for almost a week and the dog is now getting lost in the tall grass.

Tomorrow is our first day of homeschooling and I don't have the books yet so we are just making something up. Should be interesting.

Good morning everyone!

Slept in late today and it felt good!

Steve - glad to hear you finally have a day off!

Cindy - here's hoping the rain goes away so you guys can enjoy the last day of Septemberfest.

Diana - as I posted on the main board the stingrays on CC are safe. For one thing they have their barbs trimmed. Plus they have been around humans training for over a year now so they don't get spooked by humans. Steve's death if very sad but we have to remember that he was in a totally wild enviroment. Also there are many many different kind of stingrays - some that are huge!

I hadn't seen the other thread and just read your post. You are right. Steve Irwin would freak out if people started to be demonize stingrays because of what happened to him. I did just hear on the Today show that he was filming a documentary called "The Worlds Most Dangerous Animals" so I'm thinking this ray wasn't like the ones at CC.

I feel terrible because I know he has two small kids. That always hits me hard. What a tragic story. :guilty:
