I really like the paint can too, just not sure what I would use one for. :confused3

Squid

The gallon paint cans decorated look incredible. WAY nicer than the quart I think. They do up the handle with all sorts of ribbons. I'd be willing to bet you could find something to go inside them.

They do make very cute baby shower packages filled with baby stuff.....I've also seen them used as gift card holders......great for teens too as a gift with makeup and lotions in them!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry to be off-topic here...but I could sure use a few questions answered by the experts!!!

I just got the cruise update email that talks about bringing pirate gear. From past Member cruises, it is a big issue if DH & I don't dress 'pirate-like'?We are coming from the "Great White North", Arctic Circle, in Canada(3,000+ miles from Disney!!!) and can't pack a whole lot for our trip (airline regulations).

Also, I just noticed my passport is due to expire in Dec/06. Any issue with that with customs (concerned about the Bahamas)? Pls advise.
I don't have time to renew my passport now as we leave in 5 weeks & it can't be done from our remote location. Is this going to be a major problem?

I wouldn't worry at all about dressing in Pirate gear. There will be plenty that are not dressed as pirates, but are still enjoying the fun!!!

And, as for your passport, I think that you should be fine.

Me too!! The only pictures we have of the four of us are the ones from the last cruise.

I'm having a heck of a time keeping up with you guys today! I just got the girls to lay down and watch a movie....problem being is they are both laying in my bed, which means WWIII will be erupting in 3...2....1

Ok, I know, I know, I'm supposed to be doing stuff around the house, not spending time on the DIS, but I was eating my lunch.

Anyway, thanks Cindy! We hadn't had a professional family picture taken since Maddie was only about 2 months old. I had a REALLY good Sears coupon, so we decided to go ahead and do it. Plus, I wanted a new picture for one of my projects for next weekend. And, to top it off, I had just had my hair done, so I figured that I would take advantage of it.

I've done the gallon ones before and they are a lot of fun with all the ribbons on the handle. I've also used torn strips of fabric to tie on the handles. I used one last year for a Christmas gift of a "movie" can. I put in some movie candy, microwave popcorn, soda and a gift certificate for movie rentals. It turned out cute!

Northerngirl - not off topic at all!

We've done both dressing up and not dressing up for pirates night and had a great time both ways. I think we are going more casual/tropical this night and then donning our pirates t-shirts and shorts for the deck party. This is what we did on the May cruise and it worked great for us. You'll have a great time no matter which way you go.

Are there directions for these somewhere???
We get Grandma Lightbulb a Netflix gift certificate for Christmas and this would be a cute way to present it. :)

I don't know of any specific directions, but I get my ideas from www.twopeasinabucket. I search in the Pea Gallery for altered paint can and TONS of them come up.

Thanks go out to WDWLVR and everyone who answered my post....

You guys are a godsend to first time cruisers like DH & myself. We are looking forward to meeting as many of you as we can!!

Only five weeks until we depart for SSR!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

 Happy Anniversary Hope and Duane!!!

Amy ~ love the new picture!!

We went up to Kansas City to the Chiefs preseason game yesterday, so I am catching up on a day and a half of posts!! :faint: Holy Cow!!

Emily's first stuffed animal was a Pooh bear too. Except, it's that HUGE one! We bought it at EPCOT in the UK and picked it up at the hotel. Chris just couldn't pass up that gigantic Pooh. Now, I'm getting ready to eBay it, because it takes up too much space and the girls don't play with it.

I have always been partial to Winnie the Pooh too. But, I think Piglet is my favorite. I'm in the process of redoing my daycare bathroom in a Winnie the Pooh theme -- right now it's still 3 walls yellow, 1 wall mauve. The window should be in any time -- the one that was originally going to be a hexagon, then a rectangle casement window and what we ended up ordering was a fixed window with obstructed glass.

It should be in any day and then it's just a matter of the contractor coming back to finish the job. Although it's a little project, its been in the works since we were in Hilton Head.

Curt the chatting will go on long after the cruise. The 2005 cruise ended on September 8th but last post on the thread was on January 23, 2006. I think many of us would still be posting there but moved over here to plan this cruise.

It did, didn't it.

I think the only reason we gave up posting on that thread was because this one started taking off. But, for a while, we were definately posting on both! :smooth:

How is Grandma Lightbulb doing?

Ahhh, I guess that I'm guilty on that one!! :rotfl2: But, I have to say that there's NO way that I can remember who I want to respond to if I tried to do it in one post!! I again blame it on mom brain!!!:rotfl2:

Same here. I admire the people who can do it, because to me, it's like being on overload. :bitelip:

I think there's alot more people who don't dress in Pirate gear than that do.

I wasn't going to do the Pirate thing this year, but John wants to so we ordered new costumes. At least we can use them for the Sept cruise, the Member Cruise and the MNSSHP too. Oh, by the way are any other adults dressing for the Halloween party at WDW? Deanna said there is no way she's going to be a pirate (hmmmm, wonder who's buying her costume :) ) she wants to be a crash test dummy

I really really want to dress up for MNSSHP, but time's ticking and my creative abilities stop at the sewing machine. Emma has decided that she is going to be Snow White and Bruce is going to be Grumpy. Well, we have a Grumpy sweatshirt, so he's covered there. Julia's favorite is Cinderella, and my big plan was to be the Fairy Godmother, but right now it's looking like I'm going to be me.

Last year for pirates night, Bruce wore a POTC tshirt and I wore and I <3 Pirates shirt. This year I think we'll dress for dinner in our regular clothes and wear our pirate shirts afterwards.

I saw that after I posted. Please don't list them on ebay - I don't want to be one of your wacko buyers  . Hey, I can provide you with Konk Koolers though. Think you can still handle a Konk Kooler in each hand this cruise?

Didn't I tell you that I've been training my feet to hold them as well.

:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

Count them, 4 at a time. As easy as they are going down, it won't be a problem to order a refill. And, I think Gary's telling the bar guy to just bring us an entire tray.
