Sorry to be off-topic here...but I could sure use a few questions answered by the experts!!!
I just got the cruise update email that talks about bringing pirate gear. From past Member cruises, it is a big issue if DH & I don't dress 'pirate-like'?We are coming from the "Great White North", Arctic Circle, in Canada(3,000+ miles from Disney!!!) and can't pack a whole lot for our trip (airline regulations).
Also, I just noticed my passport is due to expire in Dec/06. Any issue with that with customs (concerned about the Bahamas)? Pls advise.
I don't have time to renew my passport now as we leave in 5 weeks & it can't be done from our remote location. Is this going to be a major problem?

I'm looking forward to having some family ones done on the cruise!![]()
Ok, I know, I know, I'm supposed to be doing stuff around the house, not spending time on the DIS, but I was eating my lunch.cgcw said:Amy, I also love the new picture.![]()

I've done the gallon ones before and they are a lot of fun with all the ribbons on the handle. I've also used torn strips of fabric to tie on the handles. I used one last year for a Christmas gift of a "movie" can. I put in some movie candy, microwave popcorn, soda and a gift certificate for movie rentals. It turned out cute!Diana Lyn said:The gallon paint cans decorated look incredible. WAY nicer than the quart I think. They do up the handle with all sorts of ribbons. I'd be willing to bet you could find something to go inside them.
They do make very cute baby shower packages filled with baby stuff.....I've also seen them used as gift card holders......great for teens too as a gift with makeup and lotions in them!

I don't know of any specific directions, but I get my ideas from www.twopeasinabucket. I search in the Pea Gallery for altered paint can and TONS of them come up.ohiominnie said:Are there directions for these somewhere???
We get Grandma Lightbulb a Netflix gift certificate for Christmas and this would be a cute way to present it.![]()
This is the best news I had all day!!!WDWLVR said:Attn Member Cruisers:
We sail next month!
alikat99 said:Emily's first stuffed animal was a Pooh bear too. Except, it's that HUGE one! We bought it at EPCOT in the UK and picked it up at the hotel. Chris just couldn't pass up that gigantic Pooh. Now, I'm getting ready to eBay it, because it takes up too much space and the girls don't play with it.
WDWLVR said:Curt the chatting will go on long after the cruise. The 2005 cruise ended on September 8th but last post on the thread was on January 23, 2006. I think many of us would still be posting there but moved over here to plan this cruise.

alikat99 said:I wouldn't worry at all about dressing in Pirate gear. There will be plenty that are not dressed as pirates, but are still enjoying the fun!!!
And, as for your passport, I think that you should be fine.

I wasn't going to do the Pirate thing this year, but John wants to so we ordered new costumes. At least we can use them for the Sept cruise, the Member Cruise and the MNSSHP too. Oh, by the way are any other adults dressing for the Halloween party at WDW? Deanna said there is no way she's going to be a pirate (hmmmm, wonder who's buying her costume) she wants to be a crash test dummy
