I thought about getting another pair of Athens too, the Navy/Khakis but I'm saving my pennies for the Scutes and Off Roads! I can't wait to get the black/lime scutes!! The one thing I don't like about my Athens is (and this is kind of gross) a lot of gunk builds up in the crevice where the orange meets the white. I throw mine in the dishwasher all the time and they still have that buildup.

Where the heck are you walking? No gunk in mine (yep, I just checked)! :thumbsup2

I've been on the beach with them, as well as in the ocean with them (I can't stand the feel of the ocean floor).

Here's a story from South Carolina. We went beach combing to a private island. We do this at low tide and get there by boat with our friend Scott. Scott pulls the boat up as close to the shore as he can get and then we get off the boat and walk to the land. The kids are rearing to go the minute he stops the boat and have no problem getting off. They do, Gary gets off and then it's my turn. Remember, I don't like the feel of the ocean floor AND I don't go in the ocean as a rule, so I step off the ladder, onto the bottom of the ocean and it's muck! Muck!! :scared: :scared: My foot, with my croc on it to protect me from feeling the ocean floor starts to sink. :lmao: So, I'm not sinking into this gross muck that I can't stand the feel of. The more I tried to get my foot out, the deeper it went. I had no choice to to pull my foot out and then, my other foot started to sink. :lmao: So, now I had to take my feet out of the shoes and stand there. Scott went into the water to retrieve my sandles off the ocean floor. What a sport he was.

Even funnier, later as I'm walking along the beach, I took my shoes off and left them behind. Scott reminded me a couple of times not to forget they were there and even moved them closer to the boat for me. I guess the idea of me not walking back out to the boat without them on my feet was enough to scare him. :scared:

Next year, I think I'm getting a pair of croc boots to wear when we go beach combing!

I'm sure you'll be fine, like I said it's safer now with the alert higher. Just make sure you check out what you can and can't bring on the plane with you as a carry on so we don't see you and the kids on the news!

We're doing all carry on. :cool1: So, definately, things will be safe. Once I accidently had a pair of kids safety scissors in my carryon and I was escorted back out.

Our plan is to arrive in Orlando, pick up the rental car and head over to the Magic Kingdom for the extra magic hours. I suppose we'll have to check into the resort first in order to qualify to get into the park. We'll see if it works out, it really depends on Walker and whether he can stay up or not. (Okay, not really, the kids have no problem staying up late, it's Mom that's usually dragging by 9 p.m.).

Actually Crocs makes a pair of water shoes that Mark and I are getting for the cruise. Our old ones are falling apart and these look cool.

Ohhhh, they do look cool. :cool1: And, I bet they wouldn't get stuck in the muck as easily as my flip flops.

Are you ordering them online or buying them someplace? I have a wider foot, so a lot of cuter things are usually too narrow for me.

Definately keep me updated!!

It really will be a special cruise for us. Not only is it our first cruise of any kind, but it is the first trip for DH and I without kids in 15 years! We are celebrating our 20th anniversary (which was in May).
I am sure we will be hooked and want to book a cruise with the kids and my mom after the member cruise!
You won't be alone in that anniversary celebration. DH and I are celebrating our 30th on the cruise (which was actually in July!) :love2:

ETA: Wow! Ilene and her DH are celebrating too! We could have a real party table!! party:

I'm going to order them online. I've got a wide foot and the beach ones seem fine to me (the Niles are a little snug). I'll let you know once we get them.

Change in plans. Looks like we'll be checking our baggage as there are some liquids we're definately bringing.

I just read this on the TSA website. Anyone traveling, a heads up.

NO LIQUIDS OR GELS OF ANY KIND WILL BE PERMITTED IN CARRY-ON BAGGAGE. ITEMS MUST BE IN CHECKED BAGGAGE. This includes all beverages, shampoo, suntan lotion, creams, tooth paste, hair gel, and other items of similar consistency.

Here's the entire link if anyone is interested:

I love a challenge and I hate to lose!! :furious:

Bring it on Stace - I might have to disqualify you though cause you have Karen's cell # and might go fishing for hints.
(Cheating on the site is not unheard of - so I've been told  :rolleyes1 )

More later today -

Ok I don't know why that posted twice, must've "double bumped." Oh well

Again morning to all - don't fret the news today, make the MINOR adjustments that are being required and go on with our lives. Major inconvienences and LOTS OF ATTENTION is what these putzes what (and I chose that term intentionally.) Check the shampoo & toiletries and pay for the can of pop on the plane (if your carrier has already down away with that perk) and we will persevere as we always had.

Good morning everyone - I've been busy lately with barely enough time to read the thread, let alone respond. So, I'm in the process of catching up.

We're still waiting to hear the diagnosis of Chris's car, but we're making due with just one. Luckily, I'm just a mommy now, so I can just bring him to work and still have the car.

Ok, back to my catching up!!

Millionaire closes August 19th - this I found out from one of the hosts. She said noone is happy about it closing and it was as big a shock to them as it was to all of us. I guess chalk one up for having a Pixar themed ride in every park (Buzz lightyear/Laugh Floor in MK, Nemo and Friends in Epcot, Midway madness in MGM and ITTBAB/Nemo Show in AK).
I'm sad to hear that Millionaire is closing. We didn't go a lot, but it was fun. The very first time that we went, I ended up in the hot seat after the first person was knocked out after the 3rd question. I ended up getting all the way to the $128,000 question. It was a lot of fun!!!

Oh, I'm sure that you'll be hooked!!! It becomes an addiction, and this sure is the greatest cruise to start with.

Oh and I wanted to let everyone know that Disney Exec offices called us today to follow up on our BCV problem and basically thanked us for letting them know, apologized profusely, let me know they sent it on to the GM at the BC and agreed that they had some training to do for their front desk team. I liked that they called - very professional!
Ok, I'm still catching up!!!

I'm glad to hear that they at least acknowledged that they have some issues and need to get them resolved.

Go Cubs!!!

At least your kids are older and will have to start going on their own cruises, or better yet--paying for you to come along! Emma will be 3 in 3 weeks and she asks almost every day if we can go on the Mickey boat again. Talk about spoiled rotten!
Mine are the same way. Emily asks, at least weekly, when we are going on the Mickey Boat. And, today, when we were walking in the house, Maddie said Mickey Boat. So, they are definitely spoiled!!!

Those are so cool! I think I'm going to have to purchase a pair. For anyone with wide feet, how do these run?

Good morning and a few comments:

Diana, OMG love those crocs! Gonna have me a pair..YES!

Annmarie, Go Sox at least there will be four of us Sox fans...actually I'm not big on baseball at all but I gotta root for my home team. I'm getting very excited too. I wanted to make one of those fish extender thingys but think I will have to succumb to buying one perhaps.

All first time cruisers your gonna remember this one!

We are staying at SSR post cruise but waitlisted post cruise at BCV but don't think it will happen. Have a great day everyone.

Ilene - I'm not a big baseball fan either but need to support our home team (even if they are in a bit of a slump)! Tom and Shawn will be going to the game on Sunday and wanted to know if I wanted to go too. I politely said no thanks but thought to myself I'd rather watch paint dry since they both seem to take a long time but one I can do in an air conditioned house! Just don't let Curt know how I really feel!

Okay well you can keep Johnny (the Demon) Damon and all the rest of your over paid professionals! Let's just remember who the movie Fever Pitch was about! And don't forget you may have more championships but we are all just a bunch of IDIOTS! :rotfl2: Only time will tell who will be playing in October. :hourglass Remember there are a lot more games to be won between now and October!

Mary - I like the water crocs. Those are cool too!

Extreme Home Makeover is filming near here. One of John's clients (a home builder) was chosen to build the house. John is working on the team running the wire for low voltage things like phone, cable, intercom & security system. The filming where the volunteers all walk down the street towards the house was done this morning starting at 6:30 AM.

John was suppose to be at the work site at 8 AM tomorrow morning but they called and said he would need to be there at Midnight tonight. Looks like they are ahead of schedule.

The family is a mom and 6 kids, ages 8 months to 12 yrs. The father passed away suddenly last December when the baby was 1 month old. The basement of their house (it's not a full depth basement it's what we call a Michigan basement) was filled with mold. The mom and the 6 kids have had to move out of their house because it's believed (because of toxicoloy reports) that the exposure to the toxic mold is what the husband died from.

Sad, sad story, but next week they will have a new beautiful house to live in.
Oohh, what a sad story!!! I'm glad that their life will change for the better!!!

okwdreamin - sounds like a GREAT vacation. We did the member homecoming in 2004 for our 14th anniversary, it was only 3 days but it was GREAT! :yay:
Can somebody let me know about the block party at PI? Is it certain days?
Is anyone elso go to MNSSHP on the 20th? We are working on costumes for that but haven't heard if we need any dress up gear on the cruise. Does anyone know? Thanks
Chris
Hi Chris - I know that a LOT of us are going after the cruise on the 26th. I'm pretty sure that someone is going early, but I can't remember who.
