Morning all.


We are running late this morning. Something about being on vacation and trying to get back into the groove of things. I have never overslept in all the years I've done daycare (wouldn't that be embarressing?? ) but this week, I almost could.

Thanks for the suggestions on the window. We didn't think about the view before we committed to putting it in. I will definately look into those window coverings. Blinds would be my second choice but I bet a much more pricey one. The bathroom right now looks so bright with the yellow walls, I'd love to leave the window open, but I know that's not a practical option.

Amy, I'm glad Chris is doing a little better. Good news with the pathological report. Maybe he broke it long ago as a kid. You know how kids are, they tumble and get right back up and continue what they were doing.

Karen, 11,000 posts!!! You sure are a busy poster I can see where you got the #1 spot on the blabbermouth thread. I just might pop over there one of these days.

Stacy, you don't have a pair of crocs yet? It's so weird because I've worn my Athen style ones ever since we headed to Hilton Head. Last night, I get into bed and I can still feel them on my feet. Of course, they weren't on them anymore but it was so strange to have that feeling. Maybe I should try wearing another pair for a day or so. I haven't a clue as to what that means but I do have to say my feet don't hurt at all.

It's going to be another hot one here today. I thought it was going to cool off -- now they say tomorrow. Heat index again predicted to be over 100. Three days of keeping the kids housebound......... I'm about ready to pull my hair out -- as are they. I think we're heading to the fountain at 9 just to get out and about.

They work like a charm now and as always, great articles.

I've done CPR training yearly forever it seems. I always wonder, and hope to never find out, if I'd remember everything in the event of a true emergency. But, I do know, when Cameron was little and choked on a mouth full of pasta, I didn't even have to think twice before I was able to do the heimlich to get it out.

I remember the sinking feeling of standing by when my Dad passed away and not knowing what do to try and help him. I promised myself I'd never be in that situation again.

Good morning, everyone!!! We have a busy day today running errands to Publix, craft store, post office. It sounds like we are going to be one of the cool spots in the US today, only around 91 here (I can't believe that I just said "ONLY" 91).

Just returned from DL and it looks like I have to go back and read about 10 pages on this thread.


DL was good! Weather was hot and humid for a couple of days and then was pretty good for another couple of days and yesterday it was heating up again. I am glad we stayed at the Grand Californian. We went swimming everyday and the convenience just can't be beat! DD was able to go to Build a Bear before it opened to regular customers. This is a perk of staying at the GC hotel. DD and DH spent one morning drawing Mickey Mouse while I was doing laundry. This was another perk. I have to say the GC is as close to DVC as the DL resort has.

I hope everyone had a good weekend! Now I am off to start some laundry!

Diana - well the mickey crocs may lead me to actually own some. I wonder if the croc people read here on the DIS and got some ideas from the reviews? I am cracking up over your movie experience this week! Sounds like you guys had fun.

Cindy - your new window sounds cool and it seems everyone has lots of ideas. I cannot wait to see it when it's done!
Connie - your cover up sounds fab! I purchased the disneyshopping cover up and managed to order the wrong size (not hard with disney) so it's a bit big. Matt's working on shrinking it down a bit ... so I'll be the woman in the black mickey cover up (not personalized) with the big white floppy mickey hat!

Thanks for all the Birthday Wishes for DH! He had a GREAT birthday! I called to Guest Services @ the GC and they delivered balloons and a picture of Donald. The Blue Bayou did a B-day dessert and Lilo and Stitch's breakfast did a b-day brownie. After we flew home my Mom had cooked a lasagne and we drank some red wine.

Me too!!! I was hoping!

But I did place my order at cafe press, I got the green t-shirt for me!!! Cant wait! Also got myself a tank, and the girls white t-shirts!

Its a hot one here in the chicagoland area again!! Yesterday I took the girls and Lauren(boyfriends DD) to the water park...we are all burned up, me especially! We used sunblock every 30-45 min, but it didnt seem to work, and whats worse is we didnt even notice it until after we left!

Tina, what waterpark do you go to with the girls? Probably one out your way but I'm always on the hunt for new things to do.

We went to a water fountain park ourselves today. It wasn't too bad in the shade, but let me tell you, in the sun, it was brutal. And....the air conditioning in my van is out again. We had it recharged about 1 1/2 months ago and they thought there might be a leak. Apparently, it leaked out while we were gone or slowly over time and now I have no air. Talk about hot. Since I only have the front 2 windows to open, it's like an oven for 12 passengers. At least we came home with their wet bathing suits on, so they didn't fry back there.

It looks like a serious line of storms is going to come through here in about an hour.

I took the girls to their class today up in Saratoga today and found out that because it's so hot here, they closed the racetrack. I'm so glad they don't make the horses run in this heat. I guess that's a first here that it was cancelled because of the temperature.
