Does anyone have an octagon shaped window?

We having one put into our smaller bathroom and it occured to me today that I'm going to want to put some type of covering on it. A decorator I'm not so I'm curious, we can't just have a naked window there (especially an outside bathroom window  ), I wouldn't want to put a regular blind over it as being the window is going to be octagon shaped, it would have to be wider than the top of the window and that wouldn't look right. The same would be true for a curtain/drapery.

So, does anyone have a window this shape and if so, do you have some type of window covering on it?

Don't have a window like that, but how high is the window? What if you just put some (fake) ivy in it?? Figuring that way you'd have to be in a plane to actually look down into the window.

Or there is always some sort of specialty glass (thinking like glass block that distorts the images through it)

or there is something like this:
p367f_sm.gif

got that off of http://www.graberblinds.com/Products/Special_Shapes/

applausespecialtydiagram.jpg

I know it shows a hexagon, but they have octagons too.

got that one here:

Also found this so I know they are out there, but can't find it on their main page:

Guilty as charged. I think I'm #6 or so on their list. Karen is #1.

We are the few, the proud, the blabbermouths! Ok so if you guys join us we won't have to be the few any more, but we'll stay the blabbermouths! :rotfl:

What a proud title, eh?? :lmao:

Oh, btw, Amy, if you join the blabbermouth cruise, you'll have to come up with something other than pens. I've got that one covered! :rotfl:

Instead of a window covering have you thought of applying something to the window? You know that rippled effect that will let light in but won't let anyone look in. I think you could cut that to shape and keep the window shape as it is. Just a thought.

There is another good idea! They do sell a sort of self stick contact papery stuff just for that purpose. :)

I was thinking the same thing for the window.
They have those window clings in different patterns to so you can make it look like a stained glass window, the light gets in but no one can see in.
I think they have them at your hardware store. I think like Lowes or Home Depot.

At Home Depot or Lowes I found some neat coverings. You could pick from clouds, monet type art, or some other art and it sticks to the window making it so you can't see through it but light comes through. I thought it was really cool but had no place to use it.

Stacy,
HA, I saw your post after I sent mine...Great minds yada yada....

Ok I have to finish getting ready for work. :joker:

It's that crazy early morning minds!

Good morning everyone!

Hey Karen your ABC link isn't working.

Amy - glad to hear that Chris is feeling better.

OK, after everyone expressing their concerns of non communication for this cruise, I'm getting very nervous. I seem to carry doom to organizations, LOL. When I join groups, they seem to disband shortly after...what's up with that. And now, the cruise. I'm so sorry..this may be my fault! It figures we can't make the other cruises which got rave reviews, finally able to join in and DCL/DVC poops out on us. Come on higher ups..give us a CLUE, nothing spectacular just like where our dinners are scheduled and when the pirates night is OR if it is!!

OMG!!! I see several new pairs of Crocs in my future!!!
Let's see....I have lime green Crocs, black Crocs, brown Crocs, and navy Crocs, but no red Crocs and no red and black Crocs. I might be able to find a place for another pair!

Ilene - it isn't you. I still feel in my heart that we are in for an awesome cruise. After all DVC has come through big time for the other two cruises and this is the 15th anniversary of DVC.

Now having said that I must admit that I'm disappointed in the communication for this cruise. One e-mail in 8 months :confused3

I've always been one to say that I love being surprised on the ship and I still stand by that. However knowing a few little things like if and when we are doing a group picture or if and when we are doing anything the night before shouldn't be too much to ask.

Also the news of no special deals on the two day rentals. They have done it before, they are doing it for the double scoops. So they should know that people are expecting it. Why not adress something like that before the booking windows opened (which was weeks ago when you consider those in the cat 3's could book 105 days out).

I guess what I'm most disappointed in is that we know many at Disney read these boards and that includes those at DVC. The team in charge of the Member Cruise might not be reading as much as the team last year but you would think they would still see these forums as a way of seeing how people are feeling.

Do I think we are still in for an awesome experience? Yes I do.
Would I like to hear something soon? You bet

I agree with Mary!

I JUST KNOW WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A GREAT CRUISE!!!! :rotfl: I just KNOW we are going to have lots of fun! And lots of parties and pirates and games and fun gifts! Anyway, we'll have all our doors decorated amd we'll have our meets and.........

.:sunny: WE GET TO GO TO CASTAWAY CAY TWICE!!!! :sunny:

Also, I made a lime green pool coverup....you won't miss me!

I don't know, if you ask me--you guys are giving the blabbermouths a run for their money!! I had 2 pages to read sine i went to bed last night! :faint:

Let's see if I can catch up--

Amy, I'm glad Chris is on the mend.

Cindy, we used to have an octogon window in the bathroom of the house we used to rent. The glass was etched with a floral design of some sort. The light came in but you couldn't see in.

I haven't seen any pics of the new crocs, but you can bet the second they are out--I'm getting at least 2 pairs!! I want the princess ones princess: But I'm sure I'll want the Mickey ones too.....and maybe the Pooh ones.....

I forgot to post this. I took Emma to see Cars again on Monday night. It's playing at the cheapie theater in our town. You know, the one where you can go with a $10 bill, get in, buy popcorn and a soda and still leave with 50 cents? It was crowded and I was nervous about her behavior. At one point Mater says about Lightning "he didn't even say goodbye" and she yells out a big awww, Mater's sad. The entire theater cracked up laughing. :lmao: It was pretty cute. She did well...of course announced when every character came on the screen for the first time, but after the first 10 minutes, she was great. I was surprised b/c it's a 2 hour movie.
