It is very saddening to hear what happened at the Jewish Federation in Seattle.
My prayers go to those that were affected.

I do know that Jewish Organizational staff are offered training by homeland security. They have given a local Orlando temple training.

I wanted to ask if there is a link somewhere to info on screen names here.
I don't know alot of your real names and sometimes I want to reply to a post of yours and I don't because I don't know how to address it and feel silly using your screen names. Just wondering if there might be a post or file somewhere.

OH, did you hear about the shooting in Seattle on Friday afternoon at the Jewish Federation. Our bestest cousin works there and she was there when it happened. She's so lucky she ran out the back door instead of going to the front. I'm so happy she's unhurt, at least physically. We live in a scary world :sad2::sad2:

Glad to hear your cousin wasn't hurt. I'm sure she will have plenty to deal with mentally and emotionally. That had to be a very scary situation. pixiedust:

In regards to replying to someone you can also just click on the quote button on their post and then reply - just as I did here with your quote. If their post is long, you can remove what isn't relevant. Note, I took out your 1st & 3rd paragraph when I quoted you. Or you can just leave everything there.

As Julie mentioned the info from Mark & Mary's website is very helpful. I have it printed out and sitting near my computer in case I need to refer to someone's name.

HEY THERE GANG!!!! :wave2:

WE'RE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a great time at Boy Scout Camp. A little tired and ton's of laundry but I would do it again in a heart beat! I'll have to post a picture or two and give a little report on the week but I'm going to grab a bite to eat right now.

I'll post again either a little later or in the morning.

Welcome Back Stacy. Glad you had fun at Boy Scout Camp! While there were you guys getting these heat/humidity spells?

We have AC here at work too..........of ocurse it isnt working right 84 degrees inside right now! Oh well better than the 102 outside!
I hope you all are staying safe out there!

Gail I hope your party went well!

The party was great! We just told my parents that we were getting together for my nephews birthday. Funny, we didn't tell anyone that we were trying to make it a surprise (I forgot to note that on the invites :guilty: ) and not one person mentioned it to them. Very, Very hot day and yes we had the party outdoors. I think I lost 10 lbs from sweating today! I know - Lovely image! :rotfl: We turned on the sprinklers for the little ones and my nephew's dog and they had a blast keeping cool!

Good morning. Thank you all for your tips on addressing posts. I have a little cheat sheet on my computer notes (stickies) program as I have learned some of your names but I didn't have all of them. I will use the direct reply feature and the cruise list. Thank you.

Happy Birthday Halyna!

We have a family brunch planned this morning at a cute little place called The Barn in RI. It's about a 45min drive but the food is really good, they employ a gourmet chef. How on earth am I ever to lose some weight before the cruise

Phew, I've been gone along time. I signed on to do some Beta testing for sock knitting software so all my puter time is being spent on that this weekend...plus I had to work a 1-4 shift for work unexpectedly. I did manage to catch up, you haven't been too chatty.
First of all, glad to hear your cousin is okay! When we hear about things on the news, we never think it will involve anyone we know, even distantly. Thoughts and prayers are headed her way.

Now, about that sock knitting software. By any chance is it formatted to work with Macs? Our knitting group had a "sock camp" last month, and the woman who taught us gave us all a "Sock Wizard" cd, but since it only runs on windows, I may have to use it for a coaster. It would be nice to hear that someone is coming up with knitting software for Macs!

WOW! I am so glad your cousin is OK! That is so scary......we all have to be on our guard now! Take care!

Ilene - glad your cousin is okay. I can't believe how crazy the world is!

I have used Mary and Mark's list to learn people's names. It's been helpful. I also don't like to send messages to people by their screen name.

Welcome Back to everyone who has returned from their trips and Happy Belated Birthday to anyone that I may have missed.

I was able to remove the splint from my finger yesterday so I can type again with 2 hands! I lurked here for a few days but typing was such a problem that I didn't say much.

I can't wait for this cruise! I am SO looking forward to it. I haven't ordered anything from Cafe Express yet. I'll need to look at what's available again.

Well, we're heading out to run errands. Stay cool everyone and have a good day. I should be in chat tonight.

I'm so glad to hear cousin wasn't hurt.
I've been out of the loop news wise and hadn't heard about the shooting.
How sad that it even happened.

We joked that we were wet from the moment we got there.
From the rain on the first night to sweating due to the heat and humidity then we had a downpour our last full day at camp.
But like I said I'd do it again!

I'll post more details after we get back from doing some food shopping since we have not much of anything in the house right now!
Oh and Pictures too!

Ilene, glad your cousin is ok. It is truly sad all that is going on. Very difficult.

Annmarie, yay! for 2-handed typing...thanks for the reminder about the Cafe Press stuff. I haven't ordered ours yet. Must get going.

Stacy, glad you say you would do it again. I'm looking forward to the report/photos.

Steve, thinking about your ac/heater. Hope you are managing still.

Yay! for 12 weeksk!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HALYNA

Gail, glad the party was successful. It is interesting that w/o saying it was a surprise that everyone managed to keep it one.

Hot hot hot! here today. Off to get the remainder of the day organized. Some grocery shopping there. I think DH will do that whilst I do something/anything else. I hate grocery shopping.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HALYNA!!!

12 weeks - woo hoo!!!!! :cool1:

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
OK DVC - time to get off your booties and give us some information, ANYTHING, please! We so don't need to know the nitty gritty, but an idea of the themes for the days or if we are having pirate night etc would be nice so we have time to plan attire

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
So let's talk cameras - I've spent the morning going through last years great photo CD that Chris (and Amy) put together and I am just in awe of how wonderful everyone's photos are. We either need a new camera or to learn how to use it better. So........... what kind of camera do you/did you use? How many memory chips are you bringing or are you downloading to a laptop?

Wow, you guys sure were quiet over the weekend! I made it home from my scrapbooking weekend and had a great time! It made me even more excited for Disney in a few weeks! :cool1:

Hopefully I'll be stopping by chat tonight, because I have a lot of scrapbook organizing to do! ;)
