Diana - I almost fell on that floor when we first went in. I ended up doing a crazy dance to keep my balance but if I had been carrying a child I would have falled for sure. Glad to hear you and Julia weren't hurt bad.

If you guys want to join us, LMK and I'll change the reservation. Will's brother and his brother's BF will be joining us. They're arriving in FL while we're at sea and will be staying with us at DSSR when we get back on 9/16.

The more, the merrier!

I'm sure that we won't be joining you for dinner at CA Grill, since I know that you and Will would not appreciate my DDs' table manners at 2 & 4. But, if we're at WDW that weekend, I'd love to stop and say HI.

Oh, Diana, trust me! Based on what he sees and hears with my older daycare children, Julia is definately under the category of better table manners.

I tell you, Gary will be honored to sit with any of your little princesses -- Diana & Amy both!

Besides, I've already heard that we're bringing the parmesan cheese to dinner.

Hmmm, this could be a VERY interesting cruise with all these unbalanced people. Mark, you may want to bring your friends along. I'm sure they could help in picking us up. Now isn't this the same group of ladies that are planning to be on(?) the banana boat ride? I see a very interesting ride ahead for this group.

Gail - I'm glad you mentioned the bikes. I know Cindy did the bikes last year. They have a new bike trail open on the island and they are building an observation tower on it. The bike trail starts about 1/2 way down the runway to the adult beach and goes in a big loop. Mark took it so I'll let him share the details with you. I think it is a nice addition for those who like to ride.

It's good to see they added to the bike trail. I enjoy bike riding and a longer ride would be nice!

We will be there for a long weekend too but after you :-( I have to drop my DD off at college. She goes to Embry Riddle in Daytona...soooo of course I have to get my disney fix. DH drives down with my DD, it's too long for me so I'm flying in on Wed Aug 23rd. We'll get her settled (with bank accts., dorm needs etc) and have a mini vaca at the same time. We'll stay until Sunday Aug 27th. YAY. I have to get my new AP's too as mine ran out in May. Lucky DD goes all year round now that she's in Daytona. She'll call and say, "yeah, were going to Comedy Warehouse tonight" or "I'm spending the day at MK" Ohhh how envious I get, LOL!

Ilene - DS almost went to Embry Riddle two years ago but chose St. Joe's in Philadelphia and decided on a different major.


What was the #1 reason you booked this particular cruise? We had such a great time on SSMC05 that we decided we would definitely do it again!

What excursions are you looking at for Castaway Cay? Not sure yet but definitely bike riding and relaxing on the beach.

Are you hoping that DVC offers some exclusive merchandise for sale again? Most definitely! I gave the toiletry bag to Shawn as part of his DVC Christmas gift and I could use a new one for myself and Tom wants another t-shirt!

If you could only visit one Disney park on a visit which would it be and why? It would definitely be Epcot. We love MK, but we always spend more time at Epcot due to its proximity to BCV.

Are you planning any time before or after the cruise at WDW? If so when. One day before, two days after and we are staying at BCV.

What do you think makes DIS DVC'ers different from other DVC'ers? I have to say it's the people!! This is a great group who are always willing to share their knowledge and expertise. I look forward to meeting more of you in October!

CA Grill had the BEST chocolate p'nut butter souffle a while back. That was THE reason we kept going back. Sadly, sigh, their souffle chef left...very sad. We miss that dessert!

I promised myself that I wasn't going to think about it until after our trip to California....we have a family wedding near San Diego and then a whole WEEK at Paradise Pier on the Concierge level using our DVC points! I haven't been to Disneyland since 1985! Can't WAIT!

I also want to go to the La Bria Tarpits and walk down Rodeo Drive!

My youngest son graduated from Embry Riddle, I think it has been 3 years now. His major was aeronautical science. All I remember is he racked up a lot of student loans doing his flight training, only to have the bottom fall out for the need for pilots after 9/11. He is currently working as an air traffic controller here in Jacksonville. I remember many calls from him as he was driving to Pleasure Island or to the beach to study. (Not sure exactly what he was studying at the beach???) His request after finishing his training in ATC is a trip to Beach Club so he can use Stormalong Bay. Guess they just never grow up.

How cool - a week at Paradise Pier on Concierge level. That will be a really nice trip. We just went to Disneyland for the 1st time over Memorial Weekend and really enjoyed it. I wished we had more time there to see other things around the city - maybe next time.

ANYWAY

I drove to Bloomington Ill. yesterday to go to HOOTERS for lunch. Took two guys from our FD with me and got there just as it was opening
Here is the sign out front

No fools us we were getting a free car wash too

We were the first customers of the day so we had plenty of attention from the lovely HOOTERS girls on duty.

After a fine meal of wings, fries, beer and crab legs we had the Avalanche washed by the three gals outside

At which point we decided that since this is an every Monday occurence we would probably do it again this summer. All in all a great couple hours that will be repeated I am sure!

You know what is even stranger Steve, I was at my son's graduation from Embry Riddle and if I remember correctly Gail was at her nephew's graduation from Embry Riddle all on the same day. In fact I think we even sat near each other.
