Come on, Curt, you have to have something you can contribute. :lmao: Would you rather we talk about puberty. :scared1: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I prefer the Grandparents technique. Wind 'em up and hand em back. Works for uncles too!! :thumbsup2

Quick note, both my Father (Navy) and my DH (Marines) served their country!

Ok so I guess I missed some interesting conversation today!
Nick was a bit of a struggle to PT. We did use the reward method. Nick had this thing for "Jewels" (those fake plastic jewels you buy buy the bag full that they usually have in treasure chests in the stores). Well we had a little fish bowl full in the bathroom and whenever he used the potty and was dry he got one. Nick was once of thos kids that couldn't be bothered with bodily functions so I thought it was never going to happen.

And what was that comment from Julie about never having a kid, I say yea right. You'll make a great mommy! Just make sure you get a passport asap so that the little one can come with you on all your travels you globetrotter you! :goodvibes

And Curt it's possibly a good thing you didn't add your crazy two cents. The ladies might have tared & feathered you! :rotfl2:

Since we're still on the subject of military, both of our dads served in WWII. My dad was Army and served in England and Italy. He was a part of what is known as D-day + 1.(the day after D-day)He refused to marry my mom before he left because he felt that if anything happened to him, he didn't want to leave my mother a widow. He was a glider pilot and when his glider crashed he was injured and sent home. As soon as he reached New York, he called my mom. The first words out of her mouth were "You don't want to get married, do you?" She WANTED to get married but she didn't have a dress!

Ken's dad was Navy and served in the South Pacific. He arrived in Pearl Harbor one week after the invasion. He actually lied about his age when he signed up and was only 16 at the time. He was a gunner and it's no wonder that he's almost totally deaf now.

Currently I have a nephew in the Army, and Dana's BF Thomas is in the Air Force. His job is Explosive Ordinance Disposal (Bomb Squad). He has been to Iraq once and is ready to go again if his country needs him.

On a sad note, I took our cat Tigger to the vet today. Tigger had been getting more Pooh shaped for a while and I thought it was just that she (yes, Tigger's a girl) was getting fat in her old age. Finally, I realized that it was not just normal, because her belly felt very hard and she had been spayed a long time ago. The vet said something is definitely wrong, and I left her there overnight for tests. He said it could possibly be a tumor or just fluid that's accumulated.

And in happier news, Ken's aunt is out of intensive care and should make a full recovery. His uncle, as of Sunday, was still in ICU. Thanks for all the prayers and PD for the two of them.

I will add my 2 cents on PT. Sorry Curt but it is brief! :rotfl2:

DD has been stubborn since birth. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree :rotfl:
Anyway, tried off and on to PT DD from age 2 until 3 1/2. I could go into more detail, but I won't ;) . Every kid is different and you need to pick your battles. Kids have complete control over their potty issues and it is a battle you will loose until they decide they are ready. Good Luck! :thumbsup2

I hope your Tigger is okay :grouphug:

Mary - I hope Tigger is ok! Glad to hear about Ken's aunt - that's wonderful news!

I posted up a trip report of sorts. If anyone is curious you can check here:
2006 Cancun Trip
Some from another DIS cruise group were thinking of doing the Selvatica zip line tour. We did that this trip and I've got some photos and info of this.

Oh Mary - I'm sorry to hear about Tigger! Hopefully it's nothing too serious. We used to have a Tigger too, but he got renamed by Chris just weeks after he arrived to our family from the SPCA. Actually, he's had 3 names. First, he was Tiger, because he was tiger-striped. Then, after 24 hours, I renamed him to Tigger for obvious bouncing-off-the-walls episodes. Then, Chris, for some unknown reason, started calling him Bubbie. I used to ask him why, but he had no reason. Well, Bubbie stuck, and now he's Bubbie, but his official name at the vet is still Tigger. Anyway, to make a long story even longer, pixiedust: for Tigger!!!

Hey Lily - I would love to see your report, but when I click on the link, it just comes up with an error. Or, it could just be user-error on my part, but I'm glad that you had a good time.

Good morning everyone!

MaryJ- pixiedust: for Tigger! Happy to hear that Ken's aunt is doing better. Prayers and more pixie dust for both his aunt and uncle.

Mark and Mary--hope you guys are having an awesome time!!

MaryJ--hope Tigger gets well soon. pixiedust:

We're off to the Great Escape today. :cool1: GE is a Six Flags park up in Lake George. I bought a season pass this year because it was only $64 and if you go more than once it's cheaper to get the pass. I'm forever the bargain hunter. They have lots of rides and a huge waterpark. Here's my problem. It isn't Disney. I walk around every time I'm there and look at every piece of chipped paint and every miserable ride operator and say---this isn't Disney. I need to just be thankful we have something like that here so we can have fun!! I'm a theme park snob. There I've admitted it. :lmao:

I need to get all packed before the girls get up! My friend will be here at 9 and I haven't done one thing except read the DIS!

I noticed the same thing when we went to Six Flags here. It didn't feel at all like Disney. Our kids had a blast, but we are definately spoiled. ::yes::

Mary that's great news about Ken's aunt. pixiedust: for a continued recovery for his uncle. pixiedust: for Tigger too!
