Salads are always better when someone else makes them.
So, so true. I can't figure out what I do wrong, but my salads are always boring. But purchase one that someone else makes, or even throw one together at a salad bar, and it's delicious. Go figure...

Warning don't waste your time trying the Campbell's Select Butternut Squash soup - it tastes like squash from a baby food jar - Yuck!!! :teeth:
Oh sure, now you mention this. I just picked one up at the grocery store last night thinking it looked pretty good. Now I think I'll donate it in the next food drive. What about the other boxes, any thoughts on them? At least there was a sale of buy one, get one free so I didn't pay full price for it.

Hmmm, I feel like I'm talking to myself here. I guess everyone's turned in for the night - like I should. It's just nice and quiet around here for a change that I thought I'd get caught up.

Had a great time in chat tonight - lots of DVC cruisers. There were so many of us we didn't even have to go to another room. If we did we would have left poor Karen with only 2 other chatters. :lmao:
Darn, missed it once again. My problem with getting to chat is it starts right around the time I'm getting Ian ready for bed. And by the time he's down for the night I've usually forgotten about chat - at least until I come on here and see posts like this.

Ok, for those on DVC chat tonight, the mouse has met its demise.

For those that weren't in chat, we had a mouse in the house. He scared me earlier today when I went into the garage. Then, this evening, Chris said that the cat had him cornered in the living room. Then, we lose him. We thought maybe he went back outside.

Then, I'm sitting quietly in the office, typing away on DVC chat when all of a sudden the mouse comes scurrying into the office (the only room with action). Of course, I squeal and it runs under my desk. But, after some time, Chris captured him!!

Ahhh, I can sleep well tonight!!! :cloud9:

Oh, Amy, I would have died! Right then & there! Did you wake everyone up screaming??? :scared: :scared: :scared:

I'm glad he's gone & you were able to get a good nights sleep without thinking of him.

It looks like it's going to be another beautiful day here. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: Our shed is all cleaned up, our garage made a huge improvement and we've made some big decisions about things that were just sitting around here. We were really dragging last night. The garbage man is going to freak tomorrow  not that I feel sorry for him. We have so much trash that we can't even open the gate or it will all tumble down right onto the driveway and we'll never be able to get it all stacked back up. Good thing tonight is garbage night! :thumbsup2

Good morning everyone! I sure did sleep well! Actually I didn't, but that's because Madison woke up at 4am, and Emily was in our room at 6:20am. Oh well, it's Monday again, back to the grind.

A little bird told me a secret. :listen:

I hear we have quite the scholar in our group. :teacher:

Rumor has it that Karen (4gus-gus&figaro) aced her Biology class!!! Out of 70 questions on her final, she only got one wrong and received a 99% for the class!!

Way to go, Karen!!! Awesome!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I started a congratulations thread over on here:

I'll tell you, I'd be out sleeping in the car if I was in your place and you weren't sure whether or not the mouse was inside or outside. The only mice I like are the Disney kind!

Good morning everyone!

Amy - glad you got the mouse!

Cindy - sounds like you guys made great strides in cleaning up over the weekend.

Our concentration this weekend was getting ready for our May 27th cruise. We did a test pack and everything will fit in two large cases (one suitcase and one garment back), our small rollaway and our carryon (DVC excursion bag). Yeah! We also made our door signs. Yesterday was the cut-off for buttons and navigators for that group so we now need to finish those up. We are making 160 buttons!

Congratulations to Karen! Over to post on the congrats thread.

Congrats Karen!!!

You smarty-pants, you!!!

Trust me, I have NEVER encountered a mouse in ANY house before. This was not a fun experience for me!!! But, I'm glad that it's gone now, and won't be coming back. However, last night Chris says "maybe her boyfriend will come looking for her" (like he knows if it was male or female). Anyway, I was like, it better not, because I can't handle that again.

The very first time I went camping with Gary, I slept in the car. Not because of a mouse but because of raccoons. Being the city girl I am, I didn't know they roamed freely at camp sites. So, after one came and grabbed our peanuts off the picnic table right next to us, I was done. Period!

So, I slept in the car and Gary slept in the leaky tent. Such a romantic weekend. :lmao:

Does anyone else have any other encounters with wild animals? :listen:

You mean besides the ones I like to look at from my balcony at AKL, right?

Nope. I don't "do" nature. My friends managed to drag me to a women's retreat camping weekend last summer. (Camp Chingackgook, Stacy) I will admit, I had fun, but it was enough nature packed in 2 days to cover what my first 32 years had missed. :lmao:

This year we're going to the WDW scrapbooking weekend convention at the Yacht Club---a little more my style.

I haven't tried any of the others. I was so excited when I saw it in the store and it brought back memories of that wonderful soup I had on the cruise. As soon as I opened it the memories changed to those I had when feeding my children that nasty baby food (ok, the desserts are really good!). I do have a recipe for Butternut Squash soup, but after looking it over I decided it would be easier to go on another cruise! :teeth:

How cool is this? I just realized I can get to this thread with my new blackberry!

Annmarie - how does it look on the Blackberry? I haven't used mine for web browsing all that match, so I'm curious.

1) What is your usual Sunday routine? I usually am up by 8:00, make coffee and read the Sunday paper while watching the morning news shows. Since I travel so much, SUnday tends to be the day I get caught up on household finances and whatever needed to be done while I was away.

2) If you have cruised before what will you do different on this cruise? This will be out fifth cruise. Since the only stops are Castaway Cay, probably will not change anything much. Give me a book and a comfortable chair and I'm happy.

3) If someone said they would make your perfect meal what would it include? We're not counting calories, right? I'd start off with a salad, something with a good lettuce (no iceberg please), grape tomatoes, red and orange peppers and pecans and blue cheese dressing. Soup would be minestrone. The main course would be a NY Strip steak with a baked potato and broccoli. Dessert would be NY cheesecake.
