oops missed some birthdays last night

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CONNIE!

We are trying to stay BCV before the cruise as we're staying at the yacht club for the wedding after the cruise and well, we have to leave some items there so it's just easier to unload them once rather than unload/reload etc. Our current reservations are at BWV and it's probably my least favorite as well (Hi Cindy ;) ) due to the walks and something about it makes me feel more claustrophbic too. But it's Disney so I won't complain.

Matt and I both love SSR (it's where we own) and never mind staying there. The only DVC resort (on WDW property) we have not stayed at is VWL and we are set to be there in December :cool1:

Mary and all - I'd love to join chat tonight but I'm headed to my girlfriends to start our 2 day scrap crop at her house. I am so excited - I'm going to work on the autograph books for our flower girls :)

Talking about the CC gifts - what are jelly bracelets (and if anyone says bracelets filled with jelly, I'll smack 'em with Mickey's glove ;)

I have a question for you all. Everyone has been talking about waitlists for BCV. I don't hear much talk about people choosing to stay at other DVC resorts before or after the cruise. I'm curious, what makes BCV so special? I mentioned that I was waitlisted for a studio at BCV to a TA/DIS friend of mine and she was like, why would you want to stay there? Her opinion was that it is not like the regular rooms at the Beach Club, there are no rooms with good views, they are away from everything and the rooms are getting run down. She is a big BWV fan. I wanted to try BCV because we stayed at the Beach Club once back in 1993 and really liked it, so I guess I imagined the experience would be similar.
For us, BCV has 2 perks for this stay. Our girls LOVE Stormalong Bay, so that's always a draw. And, since we're going during Food & Wine fest, it's a great location for that.

OK, that's better. And that top black one with the beige straps---that's not ours, so don't push that one on me! We had so much stuff because we had 2 kids in diapers, and one on formula. One whole suitcase was diapers, swim diapers and formula. And what did I bring, like 8 pairs of shoes?

I just had to email the picture to Gary for confirmation. Yep, you are right, that black one with the tan straps is not yours, it's ours. So, we took even more luggage than you did and we didn't have any baby/little kid stuff.

Just watch me this cruise --- I'm packing all carryons!!!

I should be in chat tonight, since we're actually going to be home.

I'm not sure about chat. I was thrown for a loop this morning.

We've always bought Cameron's school supplies through the school and planned to this year as well. I was talking to someone on the PTA this morning and she mentioned that this year, they are not selling the school packs. Which means, I have to shop for not only Cameron, but for Walker too. :scared:

Gary might take Walker fishing so I can get the torture out of the way!! I think I'm going to go to Target as the thought of going to Wal-Mart for school supplies makes me crazy.

We own at VWL, and just love it there. We've stayed at all the DVC resorts on WDW property, and I like most of them. My least fav is probably BWV, again because of the LONG hallways.

Julie - You'll love VWL at Christmas-time.

Sounds like fun!!! NOT!!! Actually, I can completely understand. Luckily, no school supplies for Emily until next year. So, we just show up a week from Monday and we're done. Actually, I do need to bring some pictures to the 1st day of school (one of Emily as a baby, one of Emily now and one of our family).

Did you all see the post about the new chat room?

We haven't had a good Member Cruise Chat in a while (well except the 2 am one on booking day). :) Maybe if we get enough cruisers tonight we can go into one of the other rooms and chat.
Don't know if I'll get in there tonight or not, but I did bookmark it so that I can find it easy! Hope I have better luck with this one than the old one, that is, hope it doesn't lock up on me!

This is a rare occasion where my sister and I disagree (somewhat). I love BWV--but I have to admit, the only time we've stayed there we had a BW view and we were on the corner of the Village Green, about 4 rooms from the elevator, so I haven't experienced the long walks. I'm staying there for 1 night in 2 weeks and then for 2 nights in October pre-cruise. I probably love BWV and BCV equally the same because of their location. But I really loved staying at VWL last September and that just may be my favorite of all.

We've never stayed at OKW or SSR. I'm in the minority here and have no desire to stay at SSR. Nothing against the place but I go to Saratoga every week, so I don't want to vacation there! :lmao: And to me, SSR really isn't like the real Saratoga. I know it's supposed to be in a different time period, but naming the streets and buildings after the real Saratoga doesn't make it Saratoga for me.

See, and that's kinda like me and OKW. I live in FL, so when I go on vacation, I love going where the theming is SO different from where I live. That's why we fell in love with VWL. When you step in the lobby, it's like you're transformed right out of FL.

A new chat room.... great. I do not know if I will be able to make it tonight as I am going to a crop down the street.

Loving the cooler weather today and tomorrow. Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi all

Happy Birthday to Connie, Tom and Marla

We like BCV because of the location. We like the walk (or at F&W time stumble) into EPCOT. Most of the rooms have similar floor plans, but BCV has DVD players and BWV has VHS...

:figment:

I guess this means that we like what is familiar. There's a pine tree right outside our front door, but VWL is still our favorite resort.

But, during the F&WF, we do enjoy the proximity to Epcot, and that's why we're staying at BWV after the cruise. After all, we may be numb after the Party for the Senseless, and wouldn't be able to make it to the bus stop to get back to VWL!

Well I have to go back almost 10 pgs to catch up. We had no power during the hottest days of the summer. 36hrs! I'll have to dump my fridge and freezer stuff. BUT it's back this am. We had an little tornado down my street..technically a microburst I think but the damage looks tornadoish to me. Big trees totally uprooted. Me and DH went down in the basement. It was over quick but sheesh....and then the whole no power for 2 days..I slept in the basement. Important to keep the doggies cool too. Tough few days. Leave to go camping w dd today at noon. Going to Maine..YAY. Enough now I have to catch up because it looks like something exciting may be happening?

Well that just stinks.
That happened to us before too. Luckily my parents live about 5 miles away and they had power so we could at least bring our meat to there house and put it in the fridge.

Have fun camping!

In My case, it's less staggering, I mean walking distance from the Party of the Senseless! ;)

It just made sense to be close to where you are going to be drinking! :rotfl:
