Hi all...

I remembered reading this on the thread a while ago, but I'm not sure if an answer was ever reached. In case it wasn't, it's true that one of the ships from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie is anchored at Castaway Cay. It's the Flying Dutchman, not the Black Pearl.

Here's a URL for a DCL created clip promoting the ship's arrival, but add www in front, just in case it doesn't work without it. dclnews.com/staging/dutchman2.mov

And they are serving Brunch while we are at CC! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Okay, you just made what started as a bad day even worse. I set the alarm for 2:55am, but don't hear it until 3:05. By the time I got into the site, there were no Tuesday Brunches available! So I see the one on Wednesday and grab it, not even thinking about the fact that they don't do brunch on CC days (maybe this is special because we DVCers are so special?) Then I move to the spa and my internet dies!!!! I stayed up for an hour waiting for it to come back, called the cable company, rebooted twice, all to no avail. I finally gave up and tried to get back to sleep at 4:15 and was so aggravated, I couldn't sleep. Went into my family room to lie down in the recliner and I guess I finally did fall asleep, but got up 5 minutes before I needed to get up at 6:00am. The internet was back and nothing good was left. We wanted to do the couples massage on the sea day, but the only times were like 7:00pm, so I went and took a 2:45 on the dat of departure (is the spa even open yet or is this another goof?) Did get to book the parasailing, but wanted to reserve the two day float/tube rentals, but it lookede like only single days were available. So I booked one for my wife for Monday and went back into Wednesday to book her for that day and I could not select her as an option. So I booked Wednesday for me.

So after waiting for months and having this date circled on my calendar it went by with a whimper. Thank goodness for my wonderful wife, she comes up to me in the bedroom and says she knows I'm upset, but don't forget we're still going to be on a DisneY Cruise and that's enough to have a good time.

Whew! I feel like I've done a real workout. I went and read everyone's post about the "Adventure of the Early a.m.!" It seemed stressfull as I was reading. Glad it mostly worked out. Hope everyone gets things worked out by the time you board.

Off I go to read some more...

You aren't as bad off as you think. Your Wednesday brunch should now reflect Tuesday on your ressie. They went in and changed them all later on. You got the parasailing. :thumbsup2 And the two day float rental wasn't put up as a choice, so no one got to book that yet. I don't see why they won't offer it though--it must be another oversight on their part. So you can book that later on.

You got the spa visit at a wacky time. I didn't think the spa opened for treatments until after the life boat drill. Maybe you can go in and change it on the day the non-castaway club people can book. Or even when you get on the ship, if you go up to the spa right away, I'm sure they can give you something better than that.

Thanks Diana. Of course I posted this before I read the rest of the thread about the mistake with the brunch time. As I read each post, I kept feeling more and more uplifted, so that when I got into the DCL site, I was overly ecstatic! Actually, you guys are going hate me, but I'm actually hoping the Tuesday Couples massages are actually in the spa and not an error. We've expereinced the cabana massages, but never visited the spa, so we figured we would try it this time. As I already noted, the only times I saw available for the wel being massage was late at night and the one while we are still in port. I like to spend the first day reaquainting myself with the ship and say hello to an old friend. Beside, this is the first time we are sailing since all the major changes. I booked the cabana massage for 2:00 on Tuesday amd will keep the well being massage until I know what the story is.

So, what we have is the following:

Sunday Well Being Mssage for Couples 2:30 - 3:45

Monday - Banana Boat Ride 1:30

Tuesday Palo noon - 1:30
Cabana Couples Massage 2:00 - 3:00

Wednesday - 10:00 - 11:00 Parasailing

Sandy - we are at Palo the same time on Tuesday!!! Glad to hear you were able to get what you wanted.

Wow, it sounds like a LOT of us DISers are going to be at a LOT of events together. Little mini-DIS meets all over the ship. I really can't wait until October. It just can't come fast enough.

Great! You can't miss me. I'll be the one piling the king crab legs onto my plate :cool1:

Just wanted to finally follow up and say that we finally received a response based on our email to Carli related to our BCV 2 bedroom mix up. We sent the email 7/15 and the response was rec'd today - not so great on their 2 day turn around time! Here's the response

Dear Julie,Thank you for contacting Disney Vacation Club Member Services. We appreciate your taking the time to write to us.

Based on the nature of your comments, I have forwarded your message to the Walt Disney World Resort Executive Offices for review.

Thank you again for your message. We are glad you are a Member of our Disney family and look forward to entertaining you for years to come.

Sincerely,
Carli A. D'Agostino
Member Satisfaction Manager
Not sure if that's good or bad or just how they handle these requests. We did explain that it was our goal to not have this happen to others.

Uh-oh, and if we decide to try to get brunch for Tuesday, there's no way that there will be any crab legs left with Chris and I.

Julie, I guess it's good that your problem was big enough for them to send to the executive office, but I think it really stinks that it took so long for them to send it there.

I'm Sorry, but at 3:30 in the morning, I found it very funny!

Good Thing I don't much like the Crab Legs! I'm booked for 11:30 so If I did, doesn't look like I'll have a chance! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm after the Stollen anyways! YUM!

Sandy,

If your couples massage is on Castaway Cay you'll have to move it to either Monday or Wednesday. I called and asked about that same thing and gave my preference as Wednesday because of the banana boats on Monday. When I looked again it was moved to Wednesday but other people are calling also so if you want Wednesday I would call ASAP.

I've caught up throught the crocs phase of a couple of days ago. I don't wear them either b/c I am not certain of the support given or of the anti-sweat factor.

Not to worry about everyone eating my share of crab legs. Have them all, DH will give up his too!

Seems like we are a step behind.
