Julie, I think we all have a few check-in stories.... I remember once we were put in a room that was No-Smoking if you requested it to be. I am not sure what was worse...the smoke, my head-ache, or the cover-up smell...

:figment:

Well, we got the official word today that Chris's surgery is going to be next Wednesday morning. So, hopefully this will end all of his lower back problems.

Amy - will definately be keeping Chris in our thoughts and prayers through the surgery. Wishing him a safe and successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

Well, it looks like Chris is going to have some surgery on his back in the next couple of weeks. .

OH, I'm sorry to hear about Chris. He'll be ok soon!!!! All the DIS'rs are sending him lots of healing love.:goodvibes :goodvibes

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, COLLEEN Today is my mom's 76th birthday!

Mary, your trip to Hawai'i sounds great!
Chuck and I plan to go there in 2008 for our 35th wedding anniversary. Next summer is already planned, too. We've booked a 2 week Mediterranean cruise with a bunch of our neighbors and friends.

But we still hope that DVC has another member's cruise.....we wouldn't want to miss that!!!!:sunny:

oh. by the way, we are at Paradise Pier in Disneyland. We requested a handicapped accessible room with a roll in shower. But we got an "accessible" room with a bathtub instead. The rooms aren't very big here, and we had 2 queens with a fold out single bed for our younger son, Mike, who was only with us for a couple nights. Anyway, I called to see if we could transfer to The Grand Californian Resort, with an accessible room, but it's all booked. So the lovely desk manager upgraded us to a SUITE with a roll in shower in the bathrroom, a king size bed, a queen fold out couch in one room and a half bath, a sofa, dining table with 4 chairs in the other room.....OH, and BIG tv's in both rooms! It's more like a one bedroom vacation club in Orlando, except no kitchen, no washer and dryer!
But we do have concierge priviledges.....continental breakfast in the morning, fruit, coffee, soft drinks all day and "Happy Hour" in the evening with cheese and crackers, sandwiches and beer and wine, too!!!! We feel pretty special!

If I came back to Disneyland, I'd stay at the Grand Californian, It seems more like a resort that we are used to, kindof like Wilderness Lodge. Paradise Pier seems more like Pop Century. The pool here is very small. We were told to use the ones at Disneyland Hotel or the Californian.

We are here until Monday, when we fly home.

It's been so interesting to see the differences in WDW and Disneyland and Disneyland California Adventure! Tonight we are going to try to see Fantasmic! bye bye for now!

OK .. now I am going to gripe (DVC MEMBER CRUISE PLANNER ARE YOU READING)....

I was thinking about this today at work - we are at the 100 day MARK and I was really hoping to some sort of a blurp in the email today. I really would like to have some kind of a teaser now to get us 1st timers an idea of things to come. (of course you CC Members deserve a note as well)

PLEASE give us some information already!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Happy Birthday Colleen!

I hope you've had a great day so far.

Mary, Hawaii! That is wonderful. I hope you enjoy every moment. I'm sure you'll have a great WDW trip in there next year somehow.

Amy, Prayers and Pixie dust for Chris and everyone helping and supporting. Especially you.

Sorry about the room mess at BCV.

Yay! for double digits!

Connie that is so cool about the upgrade! Enjoy the rest of your trip - sounds like that won't be too hard to do :thumbsup2

I loved the Disneyland Hotel when we stayed there over Memorial weekend (just too short of a stay). We did go over and look at the Grand Californian and loved it. Very much like Wilderness Lodge which we love too! I wish we would have thought to go over and take a peek at Paradise Pier - maybe next time!

Erin, I couldn't agree more. I really think that DVC is missing the boat with their lack of information to their members. Even me, the non-planner, is starting to wonder just what is up with that.

I do have a scoop to share. I received an email today from someone stating that the entertainment for our cruise is still not finalized. This person was on the SSMC05 and it looks like will not be on the cruise, as of this time. But they did say that nothing has been finalized for our cruise yet --- which makes me a little more concerned.

I know that we put a lot of trust into this vacation. I doubt we'd be disappointed with just being on the cruise. But.......if I just wanted to be on a cruise, and not THE member cruise, we could have picked any of the other sailings on the Wonder and/or the Magic. We selected this cruise because it was THE member cruise. I'm hoping that DVC remembers that those of us on this sailing booked it because we wanted a special cruise.

I truly hope that we are not disappointed. :worried:

pixiedust: for Chris. I hope this surgery makes him well!

Connie, that upgrade sounds awesome!

Erin, I'm right with you. It would be nice just to get an email saying Hi, we haven't forgotten about you cruisers, even if it's just a repeat of info we already know, it would be something.

My sister is here staying with us from Jersey this week. After 1 day with a 13, almost 3 and almost 2 year old---I've decided the looney bin is probably a good place for me. We started the day going to a class the girls take in a gym. Well, naturally, it smells like sweaty feet in there. :rotfl2: So my sister proceeds to sit there holding her nose the entire 45 minutes. Even after I told her she was old enough to suck it up and deal she still insisted on sitting there like that. :sad2: But the thing that drives me absolutely insane is the lying. She just lies for no reason. And then argues with me when I call her on it. And it's lying about stupid stuff, stuff that anyone with half a brain can know isn't true. Drives me nuts!!

We're off to Six Flags tomorrow, after I go to the gym to burn off this energy. I may not survive the day, but I know I'll only have one more day left with 3 kids, so that may help get me through!

Hey there Gang!!

Steve - I was thinking about you today. I thought you might like this website. http://www.hooterscasinohotel.com/ :dance3:

Mary - Congrats on Hawaii. Maybe for one of our big anniversaries Jeff & I will go. :cool1:

Amy - Prayers & Pixie dust for Chris pixiedust: His injury seems so odd, you would think with that kind of injury you might have an idea of what might have caused it. :confused3

Connie - Yea on the upgrade!!! Enjoy it to the fullest!

Cindy - 99 Bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer, take one down chug it on down, 98 bottles of beer on the wall! :drinking1

Julie - That stinks that you had those problems with the room and such a big problem trying to speak to someone about it.

Today was a wacky day at work. Myself and a co-worker were going to be moving to new desks and we were just waiting for all the logistics with our computers and phones to be taken care of to do that when all of a sudden today we find out that the people who were moving into our desks are coming Tomorrow. Well a mad rush with the computer people and moving all our stuff. I did nothing all afternoon but move all my files! Needless to say I got nothing accomplished today.

Tomorrow is another hectic day. We have to pick up a moving truck and get my MIL's stuff loaded on since she is moving to North Carolina on Friday. In the middle of all that we have to go to the bank for a check and go to the dealership to pick up my NEW CAR!! :car: I finally found a car and will be picking it up tomorrow. I'm getting a Chevy HHR. I can't wait.

I'm sure that was a sight!

You really make me feel old, Diana. I know this is your 1/2 sister, but she's not much older than my oldest child.

I don't deal well with lying either. Cameron's been caught a couple of times with it and I'm trying to teach him that it's much better to come clean in the beginning and suffer the consequences than to lie about it and suffer even more. No one wants to suffer the wrath of Mom :scared: --- yet Cameron still doesn't get it. I guess that's the pre-teen/teenager part of him, thinking that he can outsmart this old fox. ;)

It seems like just yesterday your sister was there visiting. But, it was already an entire year ago. I'm sure it's a nice change for Emma and Julia to have her around -- as long as they don't pick up her not so good habits.

Cool on the new car! I love the way they smell for the first couple of months. Congratulations! :Pinkbounc

And that's the dumb thing, I'm not afraid to call her on it. I'll say--do you think I don't know what I'm talking about? For example, today she was telling me a story about a rule at this camp that she went to last year. Problem being that I went to that same exact camp the week before she did, so I knew exactly what she was talking about and how it wasn't true. Even AFTER I said I was there and I know that's not true, she stuttered and stammered and still insisted that it was.

Don't feel too old, Cindy....she's old enough to be my daughter. Heck my stepmother is old enough to be my sister, she's only 10 years older than me. We went to the mall today and 2 people commented on how far about my kids were.

Congrats on the car! That is a really cool looking car!! I can't wait to see it!

Gary is out fishing with the kids, I'm working on making a very late dinner -- even for us.

Something went bump on our kitchen computer this afternoon and now, everything is gone. All the documents, all the pictures, everything. It's a good think it's backed up nightly, so I know it can be restored but something tells me that Gary is going to have a long night trying to make it back the way it was before. This morning when I logged on, we had MSN as a home page. The later in the day, I couldn't get on at all and had to call comcast for help. They were able to step me through what needed to be done, but later, when I was out with the kids, everything went haywire.

So, I'm sitting in the daycare room, not surrounded by kids, with no noise in the house. It sure feels odd.
