Thanks for pointing that out --- you know, she never even asked me or Walker if he was okay. grrrrrrrr :furious: :furious: :furious:

Cindy - I would not let this one go away. Lifeguarding is serious business and I hold guards up to the highest standards. They should be setting an example, not goofing around like that when there are guests in the pool. If they want to play around, do it at the end of the day, after people are out of the pool. It's lucky Walker didn't get hurt, but who's to say that some other kid won't be so lucky? I would absolutely take this "up the line" and make sure someone does pay attention.

It's a sad statement when you have to worry about being "marked" by the pool employees because of your reaction to their neglegence.

If there is anyone else who wants to go let me know. The girls boat is pretty full at 15 (they say they can take 20) but they guys only have 8 right now.

You know, I didn't respond when we first talked about this, but it sounds like too much fun to pass up. Count me in if there is room on the men's boat. Let me know what info you need from me.

I'm just catching up after not reading this since the end of June. I saw where someone mentioned that tips were included in the cruise??? Has that been confirmed? I don't recall reading that before.

Weather permitting, we're planning on hitting this same pool on Saturday. We were just talking about it a while ago and the kids really want to go there. I told Cameron there should be no worries as I have the phone number for the overall pool manager programmed into my cell phone on speed dial. ;) Not really, but I do have his direct phone number. If there is a problem, I won't hesitate to give him a call again. And, I can tell you if I see anything out of line, I will have no problem going above the manager that I spoke to on Wednesday. I would absolutely feel the same way regardless of whose child was at the bottom of the slide.

I do not know if we have ever heard this directly from DVC or DCL.

Anyone???

Maybe it's time she reappears in my signature. :thumbsup2
Cindy,
I loved that in your signature. It made me smile every time! :)

I was told at the time I made my reservation that the tips were included with the price of my cruise. Now of course, we all know that if you ask three different cast members there is a good chance you will get 3 different answers. But I have just gone along with what I was first told. Guess I should have gotten her name in case we find out differently.

Ok, now this was quite a while ago, and I know how my memory is sometimes, but I thought the CM that I talked to also mentioned that tips were included.

I know that last year, I was one of the first of the DISers to get through, and I was told that tips were NOT included, but others mentioned that their CM told them that they were. And, of course, this turned out to be true.

This is just my thoughts on this subject, but I'm wondering if DCL requires that the tips be prepaid since this is a charter cruise now. I'm pretty sure that they weren't in 2003, but I wonder if they've made that distinction now to ensure that their CMs get at least the minimum tip. Again, just a thought!

This was exactly my thinking. The Wonder has been chartered by others than DVC, could be DCL set it up to 'auto gratuity' for charters now for the reason you just said.

Julie--just my 2 cents about the mani/pedi on the cruise. I love the spa on the ship, I really do....but the pedicure I had at SSR was SOooooo much better. If you can figure out a way to do it there---go for it.

Long day here, we spent almost 12 hours in Hersheypark. My 2 little girls are daredevils thats for sure. Both of them went down the big people log flume and begged to go again. One thing they do here that I really liked was going into the park, there are columns with a certain type of candy bar on it. There are people there measuring the kids. For example, Emma at just about 40 inches was a Kiss and Julia around 34 in was a Hershey Minature. That way, when we saw a ride, we looked at the sign and if there was a Kiss on it, we knew she could ride it. The park is actually very nice and very clean. Emma dropped a piece of popcorn and I joked to Bruce that there's going to be someone right behind her sweeping it up, and within seconds, there was. It's definitely not Disney, but the rides were great, the cast members very friendly and helpful and overall theming a hit with the chocoholics in this family!

Tomorrow we'll be hitting Hershey Gardens and the Chocolate Factory where the girls will get to work the assembly line, get their worker IDs and make some kisses. :rotfl:

Diana - it sounds like you guys had a GREAT time. I bet my girls would just LOVE that. We'll have to think about heading up there sometime for vacation.

We've wanted to go to Hershey park for a while now. Actually had a DIS meet set up for there for our December '04 cruise group in September of that year but people had to pull out for various reasons and then that weekend the remains of one of the hurricanes was passing through so we stayed home and played around Chicago instead. Will definately have to head out there sometime. Sounds like you had a fun day Diana - hope you all have fun tomorrow as well.

We went to Hershey Park a couple years ago and had a blast! The factory tour was pretty cool. Hope you guys had fun!

It sounds like fun, Diana.

I'm glad to hear the parks are nice with friendly workers. It makes it all the better. Last year, we went to Six Flags and lets just say, it's definately NOT Disney.

Good morning everyone - happy Friday! Got some running around to do this morning for work and then a busy day in the office. I'm glad the weekend is almost here.

Tonight is cruise chat - anyone going to come?

Probably not tonight.

Cameron's baseball team has a big playoff game tonight. Cameron's team is in second place, they are playing the first place team tonight. It's double elimination so even if they lose tonight, they still have a chance to move ahead. I think we'll be rooting for the pirates tonight. pirate:

Maybe I'll stop by later.

Good morning everyone! Anyone planning on going to the new Pirates Movie this weekend!pirate: We are going to shoot for Saturday. I hope it is as good or better than the first one!

Have a great day everyone!:goodvibes
