2006 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC06 - October 22, 2006 Part 2

We have a busy, busy week around here. I need to clean up the house before we leave and I need to start packing. The hardest part about packing at this time of year is waiting on the weather report to get a little closer. You just never know how hot or cold it's going to be in February.

Sorry I missed chat again last night.

I think this is the first weekend in a long time that I haven't been to either Friday night cruise chat or Sunday night DVC chat or both.

Hopefully next weekend. :thumbsup2

At least you aren't like me Cindy, on Friday AND Sunday, I went into chat, walked away from the computer and completely forgot I was still in there!

Ahhh, THAT'S why we never saw you posting!!! I was wondering if you were busy with eBay or watching TV. So, you walked away.

We did miss you, Cindy! But, I can understand not feeling well! I'm exhausted after this weekend, and I wasn't even sick.

Ah, but Amy, you had a sick daughter. That's worse than being sick yourself. I hope Maddie's all better. And, none of the rest of you get sick.

Another I must clean before I go on vacation person. :cheer2:

Diana -nice to know it was that. When someone comes in and then doesn't post I always worry if they just don't like what we are talking about or if something is going on at home. :)

Me too! :lmao: Only I'm afraid of 2 things happening--1, God forbid something happens to us and someone has to go into our house to go through our belongings. I know, creepy and weird. 2, There's some sort of emergency, like the house catches fire and someone has to come into the house. Like, seriously, if the house is engulfed in flames, do you really think the firemen are going to be like, wow, she vacuumed and dusted before she left! :lmao: I have a problem. There, I've admitted it....move along.....nothing to see here! :rotfl:

I try to, but sometimes I'm not all that successful. But, with the little bit of flooding that we had on Friday, we were in the process of cleaning things up anyway.

Thanks Cindy - yes, she is better. We think that it must have been something that she ate, because she never had a fever, and it only lasted about 10 hours. It was a rough 10 hours, but compared to the 48-72 that we've dealt with for the rotovirus, this was easy. :thumbsup2

Checking in at lunch. Everyone must be working hard or out enjoying nice weather. It is a beautiful day here in Chicago (cold but sunny).

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Ok so my head was in the clouds and I went into chat around 8:45pm thinking I was 45 minutes late. Duh!
That's ok by 9:30 I was in bed, good thing too. Nick didn't go to school instead we went to the doctors. He has Bronchitis.
He was up at 4am coughing up a storm so I woke up and tried to get him comfortable so he could get a little more sleep. Needless to say work didn't happen for me.

Stacy, I hope Nick feels better really soon. :goodvibes Whatever the virus' that are going around are really mean ones. :rolleyes2 I am ready for spring and lots of fresh air!

Stacy - sorry to hear about Nick. Hope he starts feeling better soon.

I went into chat a little early and think I missed you buy only a few minutes.

Cindy - wish we had the warmth to go with the sunshine today - it would make it a wonderful day. :sunny:

Mary, actually I love when the sun shines :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: , cold or not. It makes for much better day. And, right now, I'm in a pretty good mood so nothing could put a damper on that. Even feeling crummy because of this cold I've been battling.

This is off topic, but I figured so what....we've talked about vacuums here before!

It looks like we're going to need to replace our microwave after 8.5 years of service. It's one of those microwave/range hood combos and I was wondering if anyone here has one of those and what brand you have. I must say that I've always liked the ones in the 1 and 2 BR DVC units, so I'm leaning towards a GE. However, a repairman told me that they seem to see alot of GE's in their shop and recommended Whirlpool. :confused3
Who knew buying a microwave could be so confusing!

Not an over the stove model, but we just bought a Sharp before Christmas. It works so much better over the older model we had. It actually warms things much quicker. I'm fairly certain the technology is much better today than it was 8 years ago. You'll probably find whatever you decide works better also.

Hi everyone! I haven't been feeling too well today. (I think that I may have something close to what Maddie had, thankfully, I haven't gotten sick, though).

Anyway, Mary, we replaced our stove & microwave for over the stove. We ended up getting a Kenmore. We love our microwave. It works SO well and has so many great features. The old one was SO old that the original instruction guide had in the Frequently Asked Questions: Do microwaves hurt me? Now that, is old!

We have the GE Profile Spacemaker model. It's over 5 years old and has held up to 3 teenagers and now our 11 yo. We've never had a problem with it.

Hope Nick and Amy are feeling better soon - you too Cindy :sunny:

We just got a new stove an microwave about a year and a half ago. We got Whirlpool Gold and love them. The microwave is the type that goes over the stove (our old one was all one piece) and includes a light for the stove top and a vent.

We are just getting back from a Character Counts presentation at Cameron's school. What a night and what a concept. There are many adults who could benefit from what we heard tonight. Next year, they are going full force into this program. It involves Trust, Responsibility, Caring, Respect, Fairness and Citizenship. Cameron tells us tomorrow the applications come out for the kids and it's definately something Gary & I are pushing Cameron to participate in. Wonderful values which seem to be lacking so often in our society today. It will be very interesting to see where this leads. :cool1:
