Good morning everyone! Stacy we missed you and Cindy in chat last night. Still we had a good group and Olaf joined us in chat for the first time.

Yesterday was another one of the LONG days for me. Last night, Cameron asked to go to the batting cages and I jumped at the chance to do something different. So, we went. Afterwards, we stopped to shop for a while and then went out for a late dinner (I know, kitchen wasn't closed last night, but it wasn't my kitchen so does it count? ;) ). Gary & Walker had an Adventure Guides meeting and were just getting done when Cameron & I stopped for dinner. So, they ended up joining us at Culver's (are they other places besides Chicago area ?? Maybe Wisconsin??). Anyway, we got home and it was about 9:30ish. I headed right to bed.

I'll plan on Sunday though. :cool1:

Amy, I'm sorry Madison is sick. As you said, better this week than next. Hopefully it will be a short course. When I was sick and pregnant with Walker with the flu and couldn't get anything down, I found those frozen ice popsicles in the plastic wrapper (where you snip off the end) were just the perfect size to get a little bit of fluids yet not too much. Maybe that might be an easy way to ease her into getting something so she doesn't get dehydrated. pixiedust:

Cindy - we love Culvers! In fact did you know that Scoopie from Culvers is the mascot of our May cruise?

Amy - I agree with Cindy on the popsicles. When I was going through chemo the only thing that got me through the last two rounds was Italian Ice. We had a place near my house in Oak Park that made them fresh and they really hit the spot.

Also, is anyone else taking their kids out of school for this? My DS will be in the 6th grade and we figure we should do it while we still can. I know it won't be an option in high school.

My girls will be in 2nd and 4th grade and are getting out for 1 week. We are also taking them out in Jan to go back to the gymnastics meet at Disney. The coach loved the meet and said we are going back. I can't wait. :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the advice on the popsicles, maybe we'll try that next. She still isn't keeping anything down. She's napping now. We figured that maybe we just need to give her little tummy a rest, and try again after she naps for a few hours. I know that the last time that she got sick the doctor told us to give her a sip of water every 10 minutes until she could keep it down for 2 hours. But, we haven't been able to get past 20 minutes and 2 sips of water yet. But, when she's not getting sick, she's just fine, running around, no fever.

Gail - I hope John got to his destination ok.

He finally got in a little after 1:00 AM, they left Detroit at 9:00 about 2 hours late. They ended up circling over the east coast for about 1 1/2 hrs. Since he's not a fan of going in circles, he said he was a bit green looking. Of course he only found out Friday morning that he was going to have to make the trip down there.

Amy - I hope Madison starts to feel better today. You definitely deserve rest & relaxation on CC after this weekend! :Pinkbounc

Off to the grocery store, I have my sisters and their families coming over for dinner this afternoon.

OMG, we were about to fall off the first page!!!

Anyway, I finally reached 3,000 posts!!! Yippee!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Amy, congratulations on post #3000!!!

How's Madison feeling? :goodvibes

Off roller skating again this afternoon. Gary braved the elements and skated with the boys. I'm still the spectator as my toe is still bothering me -- can you believe it's been 2 months since I broke it (twice no less :guilty: ). Definately one of those times I should have gone to the doctor. I teased the boys and told them they should have held Gary up. Walker said "Dad didn't want any help". I think Gary was most surprised by how much effort it takes to roller skate.

Now we're home after an early dinner out. Boys are playing PlayStation, I'm sitting here and Gary went off to try and make some headway at work. Chances are that Gary might now be joining us in March at WDW if the project he's working on doesn't make some headway. So, for him to spend a Saturday night at work is a small sacrafice to make. Of course, that's easier for me to say, as I sit here in the warm house.

It's getting rather chilly out there. We have a dusting of snow -- just enough to make the roads a bit slick. I'm ready for spring and days spent in the backyard and at the park. It feels like it's been winter for a long time.

I had a little bit of catching up to do....

Gail--Glad to hear John made it OK. I would have freaking circling around for that long. I probably would have asked for a parachute.

Amy--Hope Maddie is feeling better. And I hope you guys had some time to relax today. It's terrible to have a sick kid.

And congrats on post 3000!! I'll probably make it there by October!

I'm sure I forgot something, I'll have to go back and re-read.

We spent this morning at a prospective preschool for Emma. I wasn't that impressed, and think we are going to enroll her in the first one I wanted her to go. I never realized it would be this stressful! :rotfl2:

Amy--Hope Madison is feeling better. You always hate having a sick child.
Congrats on post 3000!! Maybe in my lifetime I'll reach that number!

Gail--Glad to hear John made it OK. That really stinks having to circle for that long.

I went to a crop today and got a bunch of stuff done. Almost there on my CJ. Just a little tweak here and there and it will be ready by the mailing due date!

Off to go clothes shopping while they are doing the tax free week!
TTFN!

Amy - congrats on post #3000

We did a lot of shopping and a lot of walking today. Went up to Gurnee Mills . Haven't been there in ages and we needed a number of things.

Went to church tonight so we can sleep in tomorrow. That will feel nice!

Does anyone know about cancellation fees? i know if its 76 days out or more, you lose no cash and i'm assuming no points. Is it just that the points go into holding? thanks!

Thanks for the congrats guys!!! It's partly due to you guys that it's been SO much fun getting to those 3,000 posts!!!

Madison is doing much better. She's finally been keeping down some water & ice. So, tonight, we started to give her some saltine crackers. She seems to be doing ok with those. As long as she makes it through the night, then I think that we're doing better.

Looking for a penpal and possible table mates for early dining. PM if your oldest would like to eamil or write my DD.

We just had DD's friend party today. The girls had a blast. First was hair, make up and manicures at a local beauty college. Followed by an early dinner at Spaghetti Factory. Then we went to see Nanny McPhee. About 6 hours with 5 girls that are 8-9 years old. I need a drink! :lmao: Actually they were all very good. DD said it was her BEST party ever!

Getting together with my sisters and their families tomorrow for Super Bowl Sunday! Have a good weekend everyone! Weather man says we are sipposed to have a week of SUN! :sunny:

Good morning Member Cruisers
- we sail in 37 weeks!

Woo Hoo ! party:

Since I'm up and it is Sunday here in Chicago I thought I might as well post the countdown.

Good Morning everyone!

Thanks for all the well wishes and pixie dust for Madison. She seems to be doing better this morning. For the next 24 hours, she'll be on a pretty bland diet (bananas, rice, mashed potatoes, etc), but at least she's finally eating again.

One week to go, and I'll be heading for the Wonder!! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Amy so glad to hear that Madison is doing better! I know you will have a busy week ahead but it will all be worth it when you cruise next Sunday!

Member Gallery update - I just added MaryJ's info to the gallery. Mary - sorry it took so long!

rsschneck- I will pm you about penpals. I will ask my dd if she would like to do that. She is so busy with gymnastics that I don't know how often she would write. I think it would be good for her to work on her spelling. I would love to be at a table for dinner. That sounds like a lot of fun.

Amy so glad to hear that Madison is feeling better. That is such a bad feeling when your kids are sick and there is not much you can do about it.

Mary I still have to send you a picture for the Member Gallery. We had pictures taken at Disney just for it. :thumbsup2

Did anyone watch the Disney wedding show last night? I taped it and can't wait to watch it later today.

Thanks so much! She really is doing great today. We think that it must have been something that she ate that made her sick, since she never had a fever.

At about 10:20pm, I saw that the Disney wedding show was on, but I had missed almost the whole first half. So, I saw that it was playing again at like 1am. So, I recorded it. Hey, since it's quiet around here, I may just go watch it now. Chris and I want to renew our vows at 10 years, maybe on DCL. But, at 20 or 25 years, we are going to do it at WDW.
