Thanks for all the well wishes for Nick. He got some meds from the doctor so hopefully this won't be a long drawn out event.

We got a new Microwave a little over a year ago. Are old microwave was only about a year old (a Christmas present) when we had a little incident. Nick wanted some Raemen Noodles and said he could make it himself so we figure ok he is getting older and has seen us make it a bizzilion times what could be the problem, right!?
Well he forgot a major piece of the puzzle........Water!
Yep we had a fire in the microwave that blew the door open and the noodles looked like a charcoal briquet. That made for an interesting night to say the least.
We now have a GE counter top model

Hey everyone! We got back last night from our annual work trip (ok ski trip) to Telluride and had a blast - Matt and I went DOG SLEDDING (and no it's not mean, it's voice commands and the dogs seem to love it) and had an awesome time.

We don't have kids but we are hoping that Matt can take his finals that term at DeVry a week early to be on the cruise.

Anyone have any idea when the next cruise email will come? I think we need more informaiton from Disney on the cruise activities!!!

Dog sledding sounds awesome! Ah the life of a childless couple.... :rotfl2:
Just kidding!!! :lmao:

I would love another email too. Although part of me does and part of me doesn't. I like to be prepared but I love a great surprise!

Good morning everyone! Thanks for the good wishes, I feel a TON better this morning. I went to bed at 6pm, and just got up 12 hours later. My back is killing me from laying down SO long, and I have a terrible headache, probably from the lack of caffeine yesterday. But, my tummy feels better. I figured that I would feel better today, since Madison was only sick for a day or so, but I'm just glad to see that it's over.

We have our roof guys coming over today. With all the rain that we had on Friday, we ended up with a roof leak in our kitchen. The weird thing is that we just had a new roof put on last June, so they are coming out to see why and get it fixed.

I need to get cleaning and packing today, since I didn't get anything done yesterday. My house looks like a tornado came through it, since it was just Chris and the girls around here last night.

Good morning everyone. Amy glad to hear you are feeling better.

Julie - dog sledding sounds like fun. Except I think if we tried it the dogs would take one look at me and run away (not wanting to pull all that weight). :rotfl2:

Stacy - here's hoping that the meds kick in soon and Nick feels better.

Cindy - that presentation sounds wonderful. Yes it is definately something more adults should take part in. Of course the ones that should are the ones that think they don't need it. :rotfl:

Morning. :sunny:

Julie, what an awesome experience for you & Matt. My children would love to do something like that. Me, OTOH, would be happier watching from inside a cabin someplace where it's toasty, roasty.

Amy, glad you are feeling better. Hopefully no one else gets it and you're done now. As for the leaky roof, that's one problem I hope to never go through again. Our new roof was terrible and we ultimately ended up getting a full refund because of the lack of workmanship. I hope yours is something minor. It didn't leak on your new countertops, did it.

Mary, I thought of that same thing -- for the kids too. There were a handful of 5th graders there. And, just by shear coincidence, I didn't see any of the boys from Scouts who give the leaders such a hard time during den meetings in the crowd. Amazing how that happens. I know for certain it carrys over to adults also.

I have a little catching up to do--

Stacy, I hope Nick is doing better!

Amy--poor you. I'm glad you are feeling better and hope the room gets fixed quick.

Julie--dog sledding is so much fun! I did it a while back (before kids) on Lake Placid when I used to live near near. And I agree, the dogs LOVE it.

Cindy--that class really does sound like it can teach many people a few things.

Emma and I are going to preschool today!! We are spending the morning at where I think she's going to go. As long as I don't get a weird vibe, she'll be registered there by 11 and this whole very stressful preschool registration will be over. I didn't realize it would be this hard. The applications for some of these schools were harder than my college applications! :confused3

Best of luck, Diana. pixiedust:

As a first time Mom going through that same process when Cameron was Emma's age, I remember it like it was yesterday. There were some places I checked out that I wouldn't leave my child at. I knew that instantly. I kept telling Gary that I hadn't found a place that felt right. When I did, I knew it instantly. Cameron went there for 3 & 4 year old classes. Walker went for 3, 4 & is still there for kindergarten. Come graduation, we'll all be done with the school and it will be a sad day in our house. :sad1:

Just remember, listen to your instincts. :goodvibes

Thankfully, it only seems to last right at 24 hours. So, hopefully if Emily or Chris are going to get it, then it needs to happen quickly. Actually, I think that they are going to be ok. We sent Emily to Chris's mom's house when Maddie was sick, and Chris usually never gets sick.

I sure hope that the roof leak is something minor. It only seems to be in that one area, and after that torrential rain on Friday, if there were any other bad spots, I would think that they would have happened already. And thankfully, no, it didn't leak onto my new countertops. :thumbsup2 It never actually came into the house, we just noticed a big spot on the ceiling and when Chris checked it, it was wet. He went onto the roof, and didn't see any problems, but the roofers should be here sometime today to check it. Plus, they promised that if there were ever any problems, they would paint the ceiling, so we'll see if they live up to that promise.

Isn't it amazing!! I noticed that problem when we registered Emily for preschool 2 years ago. I couldn't believe that you have to register them in Jan/Feb in order to get into the good preschools. Luckily, we had a neighbor that worked with preschool teachers, so she gave us her recommendations. So, we were able to narrow it down pretty easily.

Happy Birthday to Everyone!!!

This thread is getting ridiculously long. How long do you guys think it will be in the end? Will it ever end? Will it break a record? Will the Disboards break it into dozens of tiny threads? Only the Shadow knows.

I'm in a silly mood this morning. :p

Good morning, Stephanie! I think that our SSMC05 cruise thread hit 12,000 posts before we left on the cruise. I'm sure that this one will surpass that one. We did a LOT of chatting the couple of months leading up to the cruise! Discussions of blinkies, henry vacuums and the twighlight zone were among the many different silly things that we talked about.
