Morning Ship Mates!

Copper3, what a fantastic offer. Sounds interesting.

DH went for thallium stress test yesterday and I spend a good bit of the a.m. worring that he wasn't home until lunch. I didn't realize it took so long. I was home sick yesterday and I'm home sick today so will be snoozing as much as I can. Congestion seems to be settling in the chest for me.

Jeff, thank you for the dvd! :yay: I received it yesterday and I'm planning on taking some time to watch it today. Wow, even Member Homecoming is on there - that's pretty neat!

PS - sorry about the ticket - hope you get some info to help you.

I did it! My first marathon! Not only that but I did Goofy! My DS was going to do the full marathon with me but decided that he would not be prepared so moved down to the half. I walked that with him Saturday then did the full marathon the next day. I finished both and that makes me Goofy! It was a great week to be there, perfect running weather (cooler) although those from Florida did not like the "cold" weather at all.

Congratulations on the Marathon - that's pretty cool :cool1: You did the half and the full - that's impressive! :cheer2:

Just wanted to say hi to everyone and to let you know I haven't forgotten about you. So much has happened since the cruise but everything is good. We will be in Disney end of Feb. beginning of March. My DD has a dance competition in Lakeland and we decided to detour after and spend 3 days at the VWL. Talk to you soon.

Hi Michele! Good to hear things are well.

OK guys - another chance to be a focus group for me. I just put up another sticky on board basics. Hopefully this will help all of us be better posters. Let me know what you think.

Hi everybody. It's time for my monthly post. I am so behind on this thread it's not even funny.

I do have a question for Curt since you are a police officer. Tonight on the way home from work I received my first speeding ticket of my life. How I never got one before I'll never know especially since I don't use a rdar detector. The officer said to follow the instructions on the back or go to court. If I go to court, is there something I should say or do to get the ticket reduced? Almost 7 years ago I received a ticket (my last ticket) for a left turn on a no left turn sign and went to court but the officer wouldn't reduce it because I had a clean driving record so it wouldn't have made my insurance go up, but for others who already had points they reduced there offenses from point offenses to large fine offenses. I felt penalized for being a good driver at the time. So what do you think I should do or say? I am actually glad I got the ticket because I was going way too fast for that zone and my mind was not in a good state after a terrible day at work. I will drive a lot more careful from now on especially in that area (Diana it was where Route 208 meets Route 4 just before Garden State Plaza).

Sorry to be a downer guys.

Copper3

Copper,

(1) I have to say this FIRST and foremost --> You are in NJ, I am in Michigan. What happens here could be a world away of what they do in the Garden State. It would be irresponsible of me not to say this...

(2) THAT being said you have a right to go to court, but to do so with a traffic offense is like driving down to Atlantic City for the weekend. Youse throws the dice and youse takes what you get. I've seen it go the way you describe an officer MIGHT take a look at your driving records and IF he/she can recollect if you were plesant during the stop, he/she may recommend to the magistrate/judge you get a lighter offense. BUT there is no guarentee that this will happen, strange as it may seem I have heard whispers that there are fellow police officers out there that make the collective list of Disney Villans look like the Vienna Boys Choir. (gasp - shocking the rumors you hear.) Additionally there has been a time or two in recorded history that a judge was having a bad day.

Remember opinions and <ahem> :rolleyes1 everybody has one. Do what YOU feel is the best course of action.

Copper3, sorry about the ticket. We don't get much leeway here either. Waiver/court fees are the same and mostly difficult to plead lesser. Good luck to you and glad you are ok though.

Congrats Lilly on finishing a race - I hate running, but am incredibly impressed with people who can run for miles!!!

WHOO HOO 2 U!! :woohoo: :thumbsup2

Good afternoon everyone! I've missed you guys. I'm normally here posting tons, but I'm trying to limit my computer time. I spend WAY too much time in here, and not enough time cleaning and playing with the kids. By the way things look around here, Chris would swear that I'm not a stay-at-home mom.

We have 2.5 weeks until our Valentine's Wonder cruise, and I can't wait. We even found a great rate online for Atlantis, so we're going to do that, so that we can have full resort benefits for the day in Nassau.

If anyone wants anything or needs any questions answered about the Wonder, let me know and I'll do my best!

Amy - nice to see you posting. And here I thought you had run off to Wal-Mart!

Totally understand. We all need to take breaks from our postings from time to time to deal with life (even cleaning). :)

Post whenever you can. I love hearing from you and seeing your adorable little girls!

I want something! I want to hide in your suitcase!! :rolleyes1

Jeff - so sorry on the traffic ticket. Here in the DFW area we have some attorney's that specialize in (cough) assisting you with these tickets (eg get dismissed) and we also have the option to go to defensive driving and not have it on our record. Just 2 things to think about.

Lily - congrats on the marathon and the goofy!

Hi Michelle!

Amy - I was missing your posts but we understand.

Diana - stop messing with my smilies - half of them are the dang x. :yay:

Hi all :wave2:

Again, I have been busy at work, only time to skim...

Jeff, In Texas we can take Defensive Driving every 3 years (if I recall)

Curt, youse forgot the part about each one smelling different!!!!!

Amy, Diana, Cindy.... Hi...what should I tell RRBB we want for Dinner tonight. She always asks. I never know at 7:00AM what I will be hungry for... Oooops, sorry, freak-out moment...I'm better now... ;)

You got it! As long as you don't mind hearing Chris snore through the night, and sleeping on the floor. Or heck, you can just sleep in the chairs on deck 4!!! :rotfl2:

:figment:

I made Ohana Potatoes with Chicken tonight. Yummy!! Tomorrow it'll be eggplant parm. Yummy Yummy!! I make a "menu" every sunday and do my grocery shopping based on it, so there aren't any "What do you want for dinner" moments in my house! :figment:

Oh, I'd have absolutely no problem sleeping in the chairs on deck 4. I have a snorer too!

As for what DCL does with stowaways? pirate: I'd glady walk the plank while docked in CC! :cool1:

Hi Jeff,
You know, my dad always tells me not to speed around there! :moped: For as long as I can remember, he's told me not to speed on 17 either, so I'll pass along that advice to you too, before it's too late! You didn't say how fast you were going. Maybe call a lawyer and see what they say, from what I understand most of the time they can knock the points off. Good Luck. :goodvibes

Jeff - Sorry to hear about the ticket but like you said it was probably a good thing that you got it. I (unlike others here) have been ticketed a couple/few times. My last ticket was about a year ago this week. it was around 11pm and we were on our way home from the Super Walmart which is like 3 miles from my house and it was unbareably cold. We due to the weather I was rushing home and was doing something like 62 in a 40. Well my day in court comes around and the officer pulls me out into the hallway and says he had check my record for the last 10 years and since it was clean he reduced my ticket to a parking violation. I could have lost my license at the time I was pulled over since NY then can do that if you ave going over 20 miles over the posted limit. I count my blessings

Very cool offer on the DVD, I need to get my stuff organized from the cruise!

Lily - :goofy: Congrats to you. :goofy: I am very impressed. I don't think I would dou either but to do both! You are my hero! :worship:

Hi Michelle  Thanks for dropping in! :p

Amy - You post whenever you can! Hey life gets in the way sometimes we ALL totally understand! P.S. Can I have Diana's spot in your luggage! :lmao:
